Meanwhile, I'm trying to post each day. Not sure how many days I'll do in a row but I'm working on gaining momentum.
Would be neat if I could post 444 days in a row. What's the longest amount of days you've posted in a row? I think mine might be around 28 or so. I'd have to check.
Okay dokey. On to rest. Which I don't want to do. I want to write bakes and test them. Yesterday I wrote and tested quite a few bakes, including a new dog treat, using leftover chicken scraps. I took pictures of the steps and plan to post the how to, right after I crop the images.
Until then, have an oogie boogie day.
I'm tellin' ya. That's a stack of FREE money. |
Have fun with those stacks and your pups are the luckiest ever.
ReplyDeleteSomehow, Wiggy knew when I came to her treats. All the bakes I did yesterday, and somehow she knew the difference between her chicken biscuits and our chicken supper.
DeleteThose are dog treats? Lucky pups!
ReplyDeleteThe A to Z Challenge is the closest I come to posting every day. I used to post more, but it's too much. I have too much else going on in life.
That was my breakfast.
DeleteDo you have all your A/Z posts already ready to go? I hear some get it done in January for April. Probably makes it easier that way, so the time can be spent visiting and gaining followers. Which probably sucks up a good bit of time.
Mm, that looks yummy :)
ReplyDeleteIt was yummy.
DeleteI posted everyday in November one year. That was enough to tell me not to do THAT again. Oh, the stress I put on myself.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the most challenging part?
DeleteLooks rather nice, longest post session, around a month I think
ReplyDeleteIan
I think me too.
DeleteWow, that looks really tasty!
ReplyDeleteI used to post every day for quite some time, so there were many, many days (months) in a row for very long periods of time!
Wow, and you have two blogs. Did you like posting daily? I'm having fun with it, for now. But I'm not sure how many days I will last.
DeleteI did like it for quite some time, and then I got caught up with other things and decided to stop the weekends. I don't think I'll ever go back to posting every day. I enjoy the weekend break.
DeletePosting on weekends is new for me, I too enjoyed the break but now I want to see if I can reach 44 days. I don't know that I will reach 444, but I think I can go for 44.
DeleteThanks for your thoughts. Have an oogie boogie weekend. Cheers.
Back when I started I used to post continuously, have a good rest!
ReplyDeleteDid you enjoy posting that much? What changed?
DeleteYou know, I'm generally not a lekvar person, I never use jams and marmalades in my diet, but I do always love to have a jar of homemade apricot lekvar for my Sachertorte :) and I use it in some other of my cakes in which I use half of the cake as the bottom and the other half I crumble and mix with lekvar and that goes on top of it with whipped cream crowning the whole thing.
ReplyDeletePS the longest amount of posts in a row - four years :) I posted even while surviving those three surgeries of mine, and the funeral in the family.
DeleteOh my goodness. I am impressed. Four years in a row. Even during the rougher times. I don't know if I could do that. But I will be excited if I hit 44 in a row.
DeleteLekvars, I love them. Why not allowed in your diet? Do you miss them, or are you not a fan?
It's just that I don't eat much sweet things and lekvar is usually eaten on some bread. I do like it in cake and in filled rolls and buns but I mostly use it in that cake I mentioned above. I also use it melted with some water as a protective shiny glaze for fruit used on cake as a decoration because it is natural and I hate using artificial glazes.
DeleteNo lie. One of the books I am learning from (Paul Hollywood's How to Bake), up next is Apricot Couronne - which calls for a lekvar glaze. Excited to give that a go AND, I'm going to make my own marzipan, which will be a first for me.
DeleteCould you eat lekvar glaze over bananas?
yes, you can put it on any fruit to protect it from going brown but you need to sieve it a bit to remove the apricot peels if you have them in your lekvar.
DeleteI will eat lekvar today, because I made me a strawberry semolina quick dessert (cooked 3tbsp of semolina with 3 tbsp of sugar in 2,5 dcl of strawberry flavoured milk) which I will top, when it thickens and cools down, with a tbsp of strawberry lekvar :)
DeleteNever tried it with nanners. I might give that a go. Thanks and Happy Cake Baking.
DeleteOhhhh, yum. That does sound good. Love a nice little quick dessert. And that ones sound good. We have almond pizzelles on hand but they are running low.
DeleteOOooohhhh..I need to go get cracked!! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteHow often do you like to go?
DeleteNot sure if this reply will show with the others (I'm thinking REPLY doesn't work for me here). Anyway, the worst part of posting everyday was making sure I had something of value. I lead a rather boring life; I don't need to bore my readers away! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I sit down and think, who cares about this stuff, when I'm writing but as for reading, I enjoy the personal day to day blogs. WAY more than just a straight non-personal blog. Those are what bore the crap of me.
DeleteThanks for your thoughts, Stacy. Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend. Rainy and overcast but nothing inside the house is freezing so I am good to go.
I think out of over 3 years I think I only missed maybe 5 days.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is impressive. I am not sure I have that much in me, but I'd like to get to 44 posts.
DeleteWow that looks delicious - more so because I'm off sugar for a while.
ReplyDeleteI've been a bit lax in my blogging over the past year - but I'm hoping to change that this year.
Much luck and happiness to you in the year of 2014. I really think it's gonna be a good one.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and boogie boogie.
My longest streak was 30 days. It was made easier by writing some of the posts in advance and scheduling them. I always seem to post more if I plan out the posts and do as many as I can in advance.
ReplyDeleteI can see how that helps build and maintain momentum. Which is what I'm working on. I'd say, I'd realistically like to hit 44 in a row and then see from there if I want to take it to 104 and so on. Anything ending in a four.
DeleteI shall now have to look up what apricot lekvar means.
ReplyDeleteWhile I generally post three times a week in my writer's blog, I have taken up doing blogs daily in my photoblog, but it's an entirely different kind of pacing for that one.
Just Hungarian jam that I grew up eating.
DeleteWait, you have a photo blog? I didn't know that. I am going to look for it now and when I do, add you to my Photography & Movies blog roll.
