Hello Beautiful Boogerbutts! Here's an old cartoon I did years ago of my cartoon Whisk dressed as THE BEST SUPER HERO EVHAR ... Wonder Woman. So fun.

In other news, I'm THIS close I say, THIS close to getting to unwrap my new KitchenAid Yellow Stand Mixer.

When I tell you that I go to sleep each night dreaming of things to create, that's no lie! Even bought flour, yeast and cinnamon today. Bring on the cinnamon rolls for Christmas weekend.

Speaking of dreaming of cinnamon rolls before bed, I'm soon to crawl into my coffin for the night. Tomorrow the new dryer arrives, which means no more hard crunchy cold dried clothes.

Hot dog.

Chat again soon.

18 December 2022

Spent most of the weekend being lazy, lazy, lazy. Watched a lot of David in the Kitchen and ate fried spaghetti in my jams, on the couch, in the snug.

Today, I need to get my butt back into gear. Can't share what I'm working on because it's a gift for Tim and I don't want him to see it on the blog.

In other news, Tim wrapped my gift and since I helped pick it out, I know it's a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. OMG. I never had one before and now all I wanna do is crack that baby open and play, play, play, play, play!

Can't wait to make stuff and share those pictures here. And, now that the work room so so freakin' functional, I've been writing down EVERYTHING I make and bake. Just so easy to do in a proper work room.

In other, other news, I read a lot of blogs lately with some of you sick. Ugh. So sorry. Here's to everyone healing up and getting better. Let's go kick some Monday butt!

Bug Hunting

This is Miss Bug. Within the last six months she fell and badly hurt her leg so I carried her up and down stairs until she healed. Not long after that, she got into a big container of organic raisins, plus part of the second container and spent an emergency night at the vets as they thankfully, got the raisins out before she absorbed them.

Best vet EVER!

And if that wasn't enough to rock Bug's world, shortly after that, she got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction, foaming, swelling and off to the vets we went. No overnight stay, they gave her meds that calmed things down quickly.

Again, best vet, EVER!

So that's our Bug. Half shepherd, half beagle and all trouble.

In other news, the couch we had in the office, that moved into the snug is too low to the ground. It's always been. So I flipped that baby over, make-shifted a platform and legs with what I had on hand. The goal was the raise the couch without a trip to The Home Depot.

Eventually, I'll build a better couch, this one will hold us for now. Building our own couch, absolutely on my Builder's Bucket List.

I love using only what I have on hand. No new money spent. Couch higher. Smoochie Face's knees no longer hurt when he sits here. Win, win.

And that my Boogerbutts is all that's fit to print.

Talk again soon. Huggs & Bugs, Me.

Friday Question: Tea Time (yum)

Hey Boogerbutts! Got some new-to-me, tea to try. From the UK. Anyone try it before? It's steeping as I type. Though so far, it smells like the hippy dippy co-op that I LOVE going to. Which is fine for the co-op. Not sure I want it in my tea. Find out soon enough. Love trying new teas.

Friday Question: Have you tried this brand? And/or what tea do you fancy? Lately it's been all decaf Tetley, which I love.

In other news, it's the weekend and I'm soon to add a brace and bottom shelf to that table I made a few weeks ago. As well as adjustable feet, since the kitchen floor is wonky.

And that my Boogerbutts is all that's fit to print.

Friday Question: Have You Tried This Tea?

Drumroll Please ...

Helllllooooo Boogerbutts!

Remember Friday's post with the new photography setup? Well, that quickly changed because the floor heat vent and table were in the way of each other. Shaking the table. Blurring photos.

Can't have that!

So I fixed it. Check out my new area in the video below. Shot Friday. Then today (Sunday night as I write this), I went to DG (Dollar General), and got black out curtains (see below).

Black out curtains should block the sun and make it easier to shoot with artificial light any time of day. I also got a black out curtain for the doorway. 30 bucks total. Think it should work.

Fingers crossed.

Also, I can't believe that I get to shoot pictures here. The reno, the mess, the reno, the mess, the mess, the mess. All worth it.

All worth it.

Lastly, remember the table I build from scratch. Well ... the homemade stain and the store-bought poly don't like each other. Tonight, I sanded it back a bit and used another top coat I have on hand. Two coats added three hours apart. Drying now. Add another coat in the morning.

Toes crossed.

And now ... to show you the set up by the window for natural light and then the setup for light bulb light. Hopefully the native video plays well. It's playing for me now, wouldn't last week.

With that, it's time for me to crawl into the coffin and catch some zzzz's. Come morning, I make more clusters with chocolate, cashew and raisins and then, drumroll please ...

... shoot them in the ....

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding! After a morning of Table Tetris, by gosh, I think I've got the new photography set up ready to play. Hot dog! Happy FriYay!!!!

2 Posts in 2 Days ... Say Whaaat?

What is this? Two posts in two days? Eh, why not? I'm in kooky fun holiday spirits and in real life, I really am wearing a Santa hat.

Is it kooky or kookie? How did they spell it on the Addam's Family?

Yesterday I didn't get squatolla done with cleaning. Happy to report that today, dish is DONE! I also whipped up Cinnamon Maple Butter, Honey Butter and another test batch of homemade Alfredo sauce.

All three things in my new Vitamix (pics and recipe to come), and none have dairy.

Hot dog!

Lastly here's the table I talked about yesterday and the tethering photography station. My camera connects to the desktop via that orange wire and the image appears on the big flat screen monitor. So if there's say, yet another dog hair on a doughnut, I'll see it on the BIG monitor right way. Rather than see it later in post, after everything's been cleaned up and I've eaten the doughnuts.

A photography area in this spot wasn't part of the original plan but by gosh, it's gonna be good. Can't wait to share some of the good foods with you.

Chat again soon.

Knock Your Socks Off!

Hello Boogerbutts! Whatchya’ doin’?

I'm in the middle of top coating a new table/wood bench I built over the weekend. I'm also cleaning the house today (sorta kinda). And if that’s not enough to knock your socks off, it’s also new banner day!

In other news, the office is coming along very well. With the couch, TV and big bean bag in the snug (other room), this office feels like a proper work space.

Here are a few pictures.

In other news, I don’t remember the last time I took a shower so I should probably add that to my list.

And in other, other news, I cannot get over how much space we have in this office now. There's a wall of books, a computer desk writing area and then room to paint and stain. Also, a photography area for tethering. Which I'll show you once that's set up.

That my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print.

Huggs & Bugs,

23 November 2022

In other news, I pivoted yesterday and instead of painting the rest of the office, I lugged the big honkin' butcher block bench from the kitchen into the office and then the little white wheelie cart thing, from the office to the kitchen.

Now there's a neat L-shaped for the desk which holds the printer yet keeps the printer out of the way too. And as an added bonus, there's a little Christmas tree on the table too.

Win, win.

After Smoochie Face finishes putting the last of his books back on the wall, we'll move the photography gear - lights, soft box, C-stand, cameras - onto the far wall.

This office has excellent natural light or, shut out the one window and use artificial light. This room no longer houses a couch, TV and big bean bag because those got moved into the snug. Now, this office is for writing and photography. A proper work room.

Cannot wait.
Cannot wait.
And wait for it ....
Cannot wait.

Pictures to come.

Catch you Boogerbutts again soon.
PS: I LOVE being back to blogging.

Whisk, out.

Christmas Cozy Corner (aka our snug)

What a good freakin' day. I moved bookshelves and in the office to all go along the wall. Most where there, three new ones arrived the others just got pushed down. Pictures to come.

What I do have shots of is our new snug which contains a couch, TV, ottoman and behind the couch along the wall, a big-ass bean bag. HUGE! On the big screen is Calmed by Nature on YouTube. Christmas music (no words) and falling snow.

The tree has been up along with the lights and I just love this space for day dreaming, writing, drawing, reading and watching movies.

It's been a good day and I am POOPED! That good kinda tired where I know I'll sleep well and tomorrow, get cracking on the last office wall that needs painted, along with another coat on the side wall.

And that my Boogerbutts is all that's fit to print.

Talk again real soon.

Mumbo Jumbo

Hello Boogerbutts! Happy Autumn and Spring! Here's it's fall and I love, love, love it. Made baked vegan doughnuts all weekend long using Silikomart doughnut moulds. I LOVE this brand. Pictures to come as they're on another device that I can't access at the moment.

As for the 30-Day Get the Chub Outta Here, challenge. Started good, then I tanked. Now though, things are going well and nearly 15 pounds down (a bit over a stone).

More than that though, the kitchen and work space are very, very different since we last chatted. Oh my gosh, writing bakes is so much easier these days however, the creativity lab where I shoot photos and chalk paint is needs an adjustment.

That's what I'm working on today. Getting dish done, maybe toss in a quick apple bake and then rebuild the photo/chalk paint area.

Which might all sound like mumbo jumbo, especially without reference pictures. All to come in another post. Today, I wanted to pop in say Happy Autumn. Happy Spring. Hope you're eating well and we'll talk soon.

Boogie Boogie & Happy Halloween!!!!

Get the Pudge Outta Here! 30-Day Challenge

Kicking off June with a 30-Day Challenge to get my health back on track because true confession time; I've gained a bit of chub and it's gotta go! Sometimes people do this whole, don't talk about if you've gained weight, or don't tell someone who has gained weight that they need to drop it but I say, balls to that.

I gained weight.

It's uncomfortable on my short frame.

It's gotta go.

Which is kinda perfect because I want to blog more and this is something to share as I go. I'll share my Buddha bowls, non-dairy ice cream and whatever other fun things I make.

Ah ... That feels better, already.

And I dunno why June? Just sorta feels like the right thing. Just feels like all of the pieces are coming together and that makes this challenge, fun. But I've no doubt, there will be times when it won't be fun, and I'll write about that too.

Anyone who wants to join, is more than welcome. Doesn't have to be about weight, comfort or anything. It can be a 30-day challenge to spend more time reading, being outside or anything at all.

For me, this extra weight is uncomfortable on my frame so that's the focus. Now with Monster (or treadmill), gone, I'll get back to other forms of exercise. Currently shopping for a small indoor trampoline. But I also love my tai chi and yoga so it's time to make time for that. Love to jog and walk and work on the yard. Lots of fun ahead. Even without Monster.

And that my Booggerbutts, is all that's fit to print.

Thanks for reading! Talk again soon.

26 May 2022

It’s a 50-plate pile up at my house and I’m smack dab in the middle of it. If I stop drawing cartoons, I’d get dish done MUCH faster.

In other news, my Ninja Creami arrived and soon I’m gonna play, play, play. And in other, other news, today I ordered more paint to play with.

Big day.

For the ice cream, I'll continue with my non-dairy, no eggs, low sugar and no oil, formulas. I've done this for years in blenders and food processors (both big and small), but I just wanted to try the Ninja Creami and when the sale hit, I had to snag it.

My machine came with 5 containers, which are about 1-2 servings for each container. The mixture gets frozen overnight in each container and then once ready, placed in a machine that looks like a coffee maker.

It's pretty cool.

And lastly, for the new paint, it's a whicker basket for a friend and possibly a front door for home. Or maybe the freezer. Or maybe the fridge. Not sure yet. Paint won't get here until next week so I have some time.

And that my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print. Time to crank the Bon Jovi and finish this 50-plate pile up!

Whisk, out.

Melted Brain & Wiggy's Gotcha Day

You know what? It's been so long since I posted on Blogger and IG that I almost forgot how to do both. I'm trying to add a photo and I feel like my brain is melting and can't figure it out. Think I got it now though.

Guess what else? Today is Wiggy's Gotcha Day! 11 years flew by since we got her at the puppy pound. She didn't even know how to use stairs. Now she bolts up them like lightening, even at 11.

Best dog, ever!

In other news, there's been a lot of reno/demo, moving of things, moving of rooms and building going on. Almost too many things at once but it's a big space. In the end, I'll have 350 square feet for a kitchen and studio area or 32.5 square meters. To me, that's huge. Pictures to come, but for today, just the shot of Miss Wiggy on her Gotcha Day!

Know what else? I miss reading and writing blogs. I don't even know how long I've been away. Awhile. And remember Friday Questions? Those were fun. I'd like to bring that back. But for now, I just wanna say howdy, and show off Miss Wiggy on her Gotcha Day!

See you Boogerbutts soon, if not sooner.
