What is this? Two posts in two days? Eh, why not? I'm in kooky fun holiday spirits and in real life, I really am wearing a Santa hat.
Is it kooky or kookie? How did they spell it on the Addam's Family?
Yesterday I didn't get squatolla done with cleaning. Happy to report that today, dish is DONE! I also whipped up Cinnamon Maple Butter, Honey Butter and another test batch of homemade Alfredo sauce.
All three things in my new Vitamix (pics and recipe to come), and none have dairy.
Hot dog!
Lastly here's the table I talked about yesterday and the tethering photography station. My camera connects to the desktop via that orange wire and the image appears on the big flat screen monitor. So if there's say, yet another dog hair on a doughnut, I'll see it on the BIG monitor right way. Rather than see it later in post, after everything's been cleaned up and I've eaten the doughnuts.
A photography area in this spot wasn't part of the original plan but by gosh, it's gonna be good. Can't wait to share some of the good foods with you.
Chat again soon.
Huggs & Bugs, Me.
Table looks great!
ReplyDeleteAnd just watched the new show Wednesday - it's kooky.
Thanks, Alex. Can't wait to use it. Was going in the kitchen. Now, all I wanna do is write on it and shot photos. Kooky! Love that. Thanks. How was the new show?
DeleteI didn't do anything yesterday, and today I've gotten a lot done. Funny how some days you just feel inspired or have lots of energy and other days, a good book or a movie is the best. Happy new month.hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHey Erika! True! Yesterday I top coated and did a small amount of chores. Mostly rested. Was goooooooood. Happy New month and huggs right back!
DeleteEnjoyed the photos! Nice to hear more from you Ivy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine. I tell you, it's so fun to be back.
DeleteMy gawd, girl, you're a blogging MACHINE! And now my favourite word is "squatolla." Thanks for that one, lol!
ReplyDeleteSquatolla! lololololololol
DeleteThe table looks very fine, is it Ikea?
ReplyDeleteHey River! I made that table. SO fun. Built it, including the top board. Stained the top, chalk painted the base. Sooooo much fun.
DeleteThe table looks great, Ivy. I would love to try cinnamon maple butter and the Alfredo sauce!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angie. I can't believe I made it. I keep looking at the table and then pictures of the table. So silly. Thanks for the interest in the cinnamon maple and Afredo. We had the sauce to night and tonight I took to the time to make notes for myself so that later to share. So fun to play!
DeletePet hair on food is almost a given here...
ReplyDeleteWell done you. As always.
Same here. My gosh. I don't think I have a piece of clothes without dog hair or chalk paint. How are you feeling? I hope better.
DeleteCinnamon maple butter sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI think everything in my house has dog hairs on it.
The table looks great.
Thanks, Ann! Same. With pets comes the fun of making sure photos don't have dog hair.
DeleteCinnamon maple is setting up. Had a bit of it last night but still too soft. Trying it again today.
I'm thinking it'll be yummy on so many things. All I did was toss everything into the blender on low and whipped it up! So fun!
Blogger doesn´t like me again... the butter sounds great! I just bought truffle butter despite I have self-made on in the freezer... alas!
ReplyDeleteHair in food. Ingo can sing a song about mone (despite I put it together before making his food!)
How great that you made your own! I make things too and buy them. Right now we have store-bought bagels in the freezer. Ingo can sing a song! I love that!
DeleteI love the name of your blog. Thanks for visiting me, I just had to come back and see what you have been up to and Wow what an interesting post. I cannot do with hair in my food. Always been like that since a child, it just makes me gip at the thoughts of it. Human or pet but mainly human. Thanks for visiting, am now off to see your other blog.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet (woyww)
Hey Neet! Yes, I don't like it either. I grew up we worked in the kitchen with our hair up. Always hair away from food. I once shot these such pretty doughnuts and never spotted the puppy hair. A lesson I'll soon not forget! Loved the creativity of your page. Very, very cool! Huggs & Bugs, Me.
DeleteLove how well the table came out! Amazing that you were able to keep the recipes dairy-free. Are you dairy-free? Another fun post! love your drawings.
ReplyDeleteHey Judee. Thank you about the table. I'm not really anything though for baking and cooking, it's no dairy for us. Thank you about the drawings. So fun to be back. PS: I made black beans in the electric pressure cooker today and thought of you. So yummy!
DeleteI love that finished table and I've been looking for something to give to my husband because he has no Hobbies he doesn't read all he does is watch TV he has zero things to do. And I would like to have a table like yours but only about 10 or 12 in wide to put behind the sofa as a sofa table only mine would be a charging table. All this sounds great and I can't wait to see the dairy-free recipes
ReplyDeleteI love the thin table behind the sofa. If we had the space in the snug we were gonna do that. We don't right now because of the bean bag, so I put one on the side arm of the couch. Think. Holds remotes, tea and stuff like that.
DeleteGreat job on that table!
ReplyDeleteHi Marie! Thank you. Fun to play. I still have ONE MORE day until the table top bench is useable. The waiting .... Oh the waiting ....
DeleteI love your photo table, I wish Santa would bring me one! hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks, Valerie! I build that from wood that I got from Home Depot. Huggs back!
DeleteIt's kooky.
ReplyDeleteKooky! I love that word. Thanks!
DeleteKookie might be what the cookie monster eats. lol
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha Ha!!! True.
DeleteThe table does look good - well done.
ReplyDeleteCinnamon maple butter sounds tasty, and I always enjoy your art/drawings.
Happy December.
All the best Jan
Thanks, Jan. One more day or so of the top bench to cure and then we can use the table.
DeleteI am back-yes the original vita mix's are work horses for sure-if you could locate one of those on ebay or somewhere it's a much better machine then the new ones. I never used it as much as I should have-I do need to locate a new top as it has been cracked for awhile but the motor still works like new hugs
ReplyDeleteThe oldVitamix had glass and I loved that. They even make stainless. Mine is a work horse in the kitchen. I used it all the time. I killed it. Love my new one now, it's Lemon Cream and works like a dream. A real workhorse in my kitchen. Honestly though, I kill everything. I use my stuff until it's dead. How come you don't use yours much?
Deletewe have the stainless one-this was Larry's when we got married-over 40 years ago now and he had it for a long time. I am someone that does most everything by hand as I am not into machines all that much-he had to talk me into a kitchen-aid stand mixer when we retired-I said but it won't be handmade any more-he says "what??" ha ha-that's me I do use the vita mix to make the best frozen margaritas though-smiles
DeleteSome quilters are the same in that they won't use a machine and instead fancy by hand. To me, one way or the other isn't more or less valuable. Sewing machine or no sewing machine. Either way, I created something with my heart and hands. Even if you mix a drink in the machine or make a frosting in a machine, it's all the same value. Glad you let yourself get a stand mixer. Sounds like a good tool to have. I don't have one yet though I hear great things about them. Useful tools. One no doubt that when I do get, I will also break that, too!
DeleteI agree it's all better than store bought in the end
DeleteHey Kathy! Yeah, it's all a matter of how we choose to see things. If a quilter believes that using a sewing machine is wrong, than that's her choice. I respect that. I don't agree with it. I do both quilting by hand and machine and love them both for different reasons. In the end, the work comes from me, my heart and that's where I place value.
DeleteI love the table. Have you been able to keep your place organized since you did the declutter, build, paint etc a few years ago?
ReplyDeleteExcellent question!!!!. I'm a very messy cleaner. When I build a new space, I rip it all down and make a HUGE mess and piles before placing everything back. Lots and lots of changes have taken place here since The Great Declutter of 2016 and I'll write more about it in the coming year. Because there's good stuff to share, like living in a reno zone is not the same as a clutter zone though both have some of the same disadvantages and drawbacks.
DeleteWow, what a great set up you have. Too bad the heat interfered with it, but at least you figured it out. I'm working on my house clean up myself. It always feels so cluttered over the holiday, and it gets worse as we get closer to the actual holiday with wrapping paper, cooking baking supplies and all the other holiay paraphernalia. Have a great FRiday. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThe space changed again and now there's storage for the gear too. So happy. Love that you're working on house clean up. Very cool. I get that about the paper, cooking and all the stuff going on. Thank you for taking the time to share that. Happy Friday to you. Huggs, Me.
