Why Not? (video)

Today, I'm all about catching up on chores and getting the Halloween lights up. But before I head back to a string of orange lights and piles of laundry, let me tell ya' what I just made.

Homemade baking powder. If my experiment works, I'll post the formula.

It's weird to me, this corn allergy. So far it's the worst rash/reaction and I haven't been able to reintroduce corn into my diet. But on the upside, homemade baking powder.

Because I am THAT cool.

    1. Yeppers. Though they're might be some on the market free of corn, I'd still rather make my own.

  2. Honestly, I think I would have a way harder time giving up corn than wheat. That is super rough!

    1. They did and I'm happy to report that I didn't break into the bake, before Frankenberry got home.

      But it wasn't easy.

How goes you today? What's for breakfast or lunch at your pad?

    1. Sure, why not? It's just starch, cream of tarter and bicarb. Mix and bake.

  5. Wow, you're amazing. Don't know if I'd have the desire. I've just always wanted a pill to remove the need to eat.

    1. Our house is always semi-decorated in oogie boogie style, but I wait until the start of August for the orange lights.

How about you? Do you decorate?

  7. I didn't know baking powder contained corn either. If you put up your Hallowe'en decorations this early, how early do you do the other holidays?

    1. But to be fair, our house is semi-Halloween, year-round. Just that I wait until the start of August for the finishing touches.

      Right after Halloween, goes Christmas.

    3. Somehow, a string of turkey lights just doesn't tickle my fancy, the same way Halloween and Christmas lights, do. Maybe it would help if the turkeys were dressed in Halloween costumes.

    1. I haven't looked but there might be some on the market now without corn. But still, I'll keep making my own. Just more fun.

      How goes you today?

  9. A day of chores for me, too. Lots and lots of cleaning. Ugh...now I'm exhausted. But we're one step closer to prepping our home for sale. Oh...and I wanted to say that you might want to ask Tim to help you carry the laundry basket. It's so heavy that one of your arms has stretched out and is much longer than the other one now. Oh, wait, maybe you should ask after the other has stretched, too :) Hehehe...I LOVE your quirky drawings.

  16. well I think you'll succeed just 'cause you want i have no allergies except that If I don't control myself I would eat sugar, starch, muffins, chocolate cakes, mud pies, SKOR and Praline and Cream ice Cream and Lindor, I want it all, and the second i eat any of it, my high thyroid looses it wherever i am, not pleasant, you'd think I wouldn't gain weight but hey no such luck, that's why I decided it's better not to have temptation in this apt, and that I have to go out if I want sugar and starch but it's not easy for me...'sides the oven well the entire apt was a pigsty when i moved in, and I never got around to cleaning the oven so I'll just visit you and drool, have a super weekend

    1. Sounds like your thyroid really plays games on your body. How long have you been on the higher side?

      Do you like to bake?
