Here's my third video. Freshly shot from our back deck. And now, we're headed to Barnes to sneak in a little writing time before we close the lid on this weekend.
I find it helps to bake or cook something good and fatty in them. Though I do have one I keep dry. Anyway, drop me an email if you decide to give it another go. As I use mostly cast iron.
This is a really cool video. You will get better and better and better at it as time goes on and before you know it you'll be a pro. Love all your new goodies!
Never seen a video about a cast iron frying pan and some splendid baking tins, so that was a first, and an enjoyable first too with your enthusiasm and your happy voice.
Cast iron! Be still my heart! It is so hard to find but a great score when you do.
ReplyDeleteI bet the little tins are going to be put to good use. Very cute!
Do you have old stores near you? We have a nice handful. How did your seasoning of your pans, go?
DeleteNever seen those little tins before. What will you use them for? I have a cast iron pan which I have had for years but I only use it for steak.
ReplyDeleteVery cool on the steak. I cook in almost all cast iron. Many different sizes.
DeleteThe tins will be mini dessert allergy-friendly dessert. And then some savoury yummies, as well.
You are getting pretty good with that...
ReplyDeleteThose cookies cutter, pretty big cookie, I think, I'll have only two please!
Strange but I can't cook anything in a cast iron :(
thanks, Richard. They're fun to do. Why can't you cook in them? How about bake?
DeleteI'll teleport you cookies if you don't mind that they'll be egg-free, cane sugar-free, dairy-free and gluten-free. Yum, eh?
I bought cast iron in my twenties and never got the hang of curing it.
