Farmer's Market Finds (with video)

I just ate a great big bowl of locally grown organic veggies and rice. Heaven, I tell you. Heaven. Oh my good gosh, my belly is happy.

The only downside to our morning out (we hit a lot of different places) is that I got all bumpily. If I believed in jinxes, I'd say I jinx myself last week.

Anyway, check out these goodies. Carrot cupcakes, carrot cookies and carrot cake, on the way. You know, for a short break from the pumpkin madness overload.

  5. Oh goodness, I read that monster sign and instead of seeing that bit on the right as chomped out I misinterpreted it as a big, hairy boil! Eek!

On a nicer note your haul of veggies looks spectacular and beautiful. Sorry about your rash but I very much enjoyed your cartoon depicting it :) And the word "bumpily" is fabulous.

    Carrot cake. Yes please.

    1. lolololol, on the big hairy boil.

I got the word bumpily from my hubby. He came u with it the last time I got a big rash.

      How's the jello today?

  6. OMG that video was funny! All that beautiful and healthy organic food. Then pizza.
I used to get a lot of rashes. I still do it I don't watch the products I use on my body. Do you have to use special soaps and lotions etc? I pretty much can't use anything bought from the store now. It has to be a locally made product so I know what is in it.

    1. Thanks for watching, Birdie. It was fun to shoot.

For handcream I only use organic virgin coconut oil and I love it. Have you tried it? Killer stuff for my skin.

I can use my shampoos but after I'm done with the free stockpile from couponing, I'll research making my own. And I'll use coconut oil for cream rinse.

Actually, I'd like to make a two in one.

The one thing I can't use, is ready-made toothpaste. So that's homemade only. Though I might be able to use Tom's of Maine, but I'd rather make my own.

What's your favorite local body wash/soap/shampoo?

    2. I have a few that I like and try hard to get them on sale. Bar soap is made by a woman up the street from me. Lotion is made on a nearby island. Shampoo is anything that doesn't have parabens, SLS..etc and there are only a few fragrances that I can handle in the shampoo (mint, pomegranate, lavender, vanilla). At the end of the day, I would say I can't use 99% of products that are sold in stores like Wal-mart. (Not that I shop there anyway. Evil!) I am fortunate that our locally owned grocery store has quite a large section of organic and local products and for that I am grateful. Living in the Pacific Northwest has its advantages.

Aldis had asparagus on sale from Peru, I think it was. I saw the bag and thought of you. They looked pretty good too, but I passed this time.
