Today was supposed to be restful and it was but in a much different way than I had planned. Not only is Thanksgiving dinner about ready, but I got to take many many pictures of produce outside today. What a great day. Perfect light.
I love Autumn.
Meanwhile, using homemade chicken stock to make dough is a go. I repeat. Chicken stock to make dough, is a go. I'd show you pictures but I took like a billion more today and they need cropped. That, and sometimes it's good for me to crop and edit the next day. Gives me some distance.
Anyway, my Boogie-Butts - that concludes my afternoon post. Time for me to make a cuppa and take a proper break, before Frankenberry gets home. Thanks for reading and have a fright-tastic day, evening and night.
Happy Thanksgiving Dinner!!! Excited to have ours sometime this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Thanksgiving Dinner to YOU!!!!! You so get it. No wonder we're friends. Meal was great, too. Meant to take pictures. Best part, LEFTOVERS!!!!!!!!!
DeleteEnjoy yours and boogie boogie.
PS: Another best part, the kitchen is CLEAN!!!!!!!
PPS: Happy Harvest and Thanksgiving Weekend to you both.
Are you celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend? I thought you lived in the USA? I'm so confused now!
ReplyDeleteWe had Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday night because I made the best stuffing, ever. Stuffing so good, that I built a meal around it.
DeleteWhat Debra said...
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the peanut butter bit, Alex. It's a start. Hope to see more from you, Buster. Keep 'em coming.
DeleteWhat Debra and Alex said....
ReplyDeleteWe had Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday night because the new dough that I made for stuffing was SO GOOD, that I had to build a meal around it.
DeleteBread dough with chicken stock? Sounds yummy with possibilities.
ReplyDeleteIt worked out wonderfully. Herbs and stock, made a kick ass bread, that I then made into STUFFING!
DeleteGreat meal. Yum.
I'm assuming you're freezing a lot of stuff in advance for an easy meal on American thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteBuzzz. But thanks for playing. We had a Thanksgiving dinner tonight.
DeleteHonestly, I don't understand how anyone would only do it once a year. Seems weird to me.
Happy Thanksgiving, an early one, we will celebrate on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy & Eat Well :-)
DeleteI am so confused. American Thanksgiving on Canadian Thanksgiving ? Is it a certain day or a whole weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't cook big meals any more, since it is just 2 or 4 here.
But Son is a fabulous cook and makes Ina's Turkey Roundel several times or his Duck Breast. I make Corn pudding, Brussels sprouts , parsnips and carrots. And of course pies !
But most of the year is very warm to hot so a big "Turkey Dinner" is to much for us.
We get creative with smaller amounts. Plus we eat more vegetarian type dishes.
cheers, parsnip
forgot, can't wait to see your photos !
DeleteI hear that a lot from some folks, that they don't cook so much when it's just two or four people. I don't get that, but then even when I was single, I cooked and baked a lot.
DeleteI also don't get people who only do Thanksgiving meals once per year or those who only bake one day out of the year. But hey, to each their own thing. I say, pass the stuffing and enjoy!
Sounds like you guys have a lot of fun with different foods. That's super cool.
hahahaha... I should have said "i" personally don't cook Big meals anymore. And if i do it gets frozen for later.
DeleteNow Son cooks fabulous Indian food with several sides and Daughter cooks Japanese, Thai and Indian food. But also cooks vegan/vegetarian foods that I love..
As much fun you have spending time cooking I want to spend that time at my art table. So easy foods for me.
I so need to live near you !
Really exciting meals, love that. Sounds like they take good care of you and that is wonderful.
DeleteArt tables are nice to have. I used to have one back in the day. Glad you're enjoying yours.
Do you draw both paper and digital? I am only recently learning how much fun digital is.
Christmas in July, Thanksgiving in October, and people think I'm nuts for celebrating the 4th of June. :P
ReplyDeleteLife is too darn short, not to be celebrated and enjoyed, in whatever way you fancy.
DeleteSounds like a great day, Wonder Woman. By all means, celebrate all year long if you want. What the heck. Today I am celebrating Thursday. And a sunny day. Even my second cup of coffee this morning. It's one big celebration...this life. Hope it's a good one for you. Off to the market this morning...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%. Life is too short not to celebrate a sunny day and a second cuppa.
DeleteAnd when the best stuffing in the history of ever gets made in my kitchen, I celebrate by building a Thanksgiving meal, around it.
Num, num, num.
You are in the U.S., right?
ReplyDeleteWe tried living on the moon, but the dogs kept floating away.
