Save the water the potatoes boiled in? Never would've thought of that.
Yeppers. Though I use it the day of or the next morning. But once it's simmered into a pot of something new, I've never had a problem.
yep, I never throw it away, either. I put some in the mash and save the rest for a soup! I've heard it's also good for watering plants. The same goes for bean water
I don't use milk in my mash at all. It's all potato water, best stuff ever. I also use it to thicken gravies, like last night when I made ham gravy. But today, I'm making potato and corn chowder with the rest. Enjoy your day, Dez.
I dont use milk either, but my potato water has a special taste since I always put some vegeta in it :)
Cool beans, Dez. Sounds good.
I've never thought about using it for soup! I don't cook potatoes much any more, but I'll have to remember your tip.
Why no potatoes anymore?
I wouldn't have thought of that...but then, I can't even boil water.
Noooo, that cannot be true.
I agree, thanks for stopping by.Boogie boogie.
My mother would do something like that from time to time if she was going to make soups.
Do you fancy soups? I love them.
Well look at you being uber-efficient! You rock!
Extra vegan oatmeal cookies for you. Shhhh ... don't tell Frankenberry. He won't be pleased.
It's great that nothing goes to waste!
No, no waste.
This looks like such a great idea. I am not a fan of wasting.
It adds great flavour, too!
That is a great thing to do! This is useful in many ways. You can even water plants with it. Potato starch is a great source of nourishment for them. I like that you don't waste anything!Well, it's been a super busy day, and I'm behind on blogs and stuff, but I am stopping by to say good night. I hope you had a great day. And from your emails, I see you did!Oh, and the natural soap I bought is from Lush. It's the porridge one. First time I'm trying this one. It smells wonderful. Has a caramel scent to it. There are other natural soaps I use from other places; this is one store I like. My sister-in-law introduced me to natural soaps a few years ago when she gifted me some for Christmas, and I've been using them ever since. Nothing like natural soaps!
Yes, plants. A girlfriend and I were talking about that last night. So many uses. No down the sink, here at The Haunted Manor.Yes again, between emails and posts, sometimes I get turned upside down and not sure where I answered, who. But that's okay, it's all in good fun.Caramel scented soap? Oh my gosh, that sounds really good. Love the whole porridge soap thing. Very cool.Hope your day was rockin'. I've shooting lots and lots of produce shots today. Great day out here for pictures, pictures, pictures.Have a Frightful Day :-)
