We're headed out soon and since I'm not sure when we'll be back, I've prepped dough for later. What can I say? Take the prep cook out of the kitchen, but never the prep training, out of the cook.
Here's what I did: Weighed six dough balls at 73g each, covered them, and tucked them away in the fridge.
I don't always portion the dough, but since these are for personal pan pizzas, I let them ferment, already shaped. Tonight I'll pull two, shape, top, and bake.
And then ... we get to use our brand new Movie Room. Yesterday, all the furniture went back and I flippin' love it. Can't wait to watch our first cheesy movie, eat pizza, and snuggle. Although, with it being Tim's Birthday Week, we'll be doing more than just snuggling.
Pizza in your new movie room - awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteWe changed it up to homemade calzones .. baking now ..
Deletewhat could be more joyful than eating, loving and looking? NOTHING! have a super-duper day. cheers!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's been a killer good day so far.
Deletewonderful!
Deletehow long can dough stay like that in the fridge? But it can only be done with yeast free dough, yes?
ReplyDeleteI've gone as long as three days, using a yeast dough. It ferments slower, but still very good and filled with flavour. Plus, super easy to grab two balls and shape.
DeleteAs I answer comments, we have two mini calzones baking happily in the oven.
Movie room is done?? That's awesome! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta see it. It's fantastic.
DeleteWhat cheesy film did you watch??
ReplyDeleteHaven't made it in there yet. Calzones baking in the oven as I type.
DeleteMovie room? What can I say ... wow! How fabulous. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAbout a month ago we took our little office and made it into a movie room. Then we took our living room, and turned it into a double office. Now we have all this great writing space and a nice cozy room for movies.
DeleteWe live in a trailer so the living rooms are like really really long hallways. Which works pretty good for a double office.
How's your day going?
Eating...watching...loving..
ReplyDeleteEl Perfecto!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
El Perfecto, is very true. Thanks.
DeleteYay to movie rooms. We need one of those!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great room to go and read or relax. Nice little get away space.
DeleteSnuggling with benefits!
ReplyDeleteHahaahahahahaha. Tim and I both laughed.
DeleteJust as long as the cheesy movie doesn't involve Shia LaBeouf.
ReplyDeleteWho?
Delete"Blogs" on a Bench? Dough, or should that be doh!
ReplyDeleteA movie room and a pizza the action.
Gary :)
How goes your move?
DeleteMy move, as in moving to another location, has been delayed and delayed. Construction is running way behind. How was you pizza?
DeleteSorry to hear that construction is way behind, although happy to hear it's more time with your puppy. She's too cute.
DeleteWe changed it up and used the dough for calzones. So yummy. Thanks for asking.
Mmmmm...dough balls.
ReplyDeleteI dunno why, but this comment made me laugh. Might be the use of the word, balls. That's always funny. I dunno why?
DeleteI feel like blob on a bench sometimes:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with that, as well.
DeleteSo...what was the cheesy movie?
ReplyDeleteWe haven't made it in there yet. Changed things up and made two mini calzones. Nearly done baking now. Then off to the movie room. Not sure which movie yet. I'll have to ask the Birthday Boy.
Deletecheesy movies need cheesy pizza like comments need cheesy jokes.
ReplyDeleteVery true.
DeleteThese blobs totally look like a Danish pastry I make, from my MIL's recipe. I might even be inspired enough to do a blogpost...but maybe not. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up a secret family recipe ;D
ReplyDeleteLots of people don't want to give up their family secret recipes, and I understand. But when we share our heirloom recipes, techniques and passion for food, then the food lives, beyond us. And that, is a very cool thing.
DeleteHi Happy Whisk,
ReplyDeleteYour rolls looks fantastic! I see that you have transformed blobs into yummy thing! I can imagine you must be dancing like the minion in your page... Yippee!!!
Zoe
Four blobs are gone, only two left. Nearly time to make more dough. Which is fun.
DeleteGreat job on your latest bakes!
scrumptious! I feel my oven calling me!
ReplyDeleteFantastic. What will you bake?
DeleteWoo Hoo! Happy Birthday Week to Tim. Have fun eating that pizza in your freshly painted movie room.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's been killer fun so far.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Tim. He gets a full week? Enjoy the movie room.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'll tell him you said so. We have nine days of staycation.
DeleteWoohoo! What movie did you end up watching? We love cheesy movies over this way. :)
ReplyDeleteWe changed it up and went with Master Chef because a friend sent me a note about who got kicked off. Then we watched Ghost Adventures.
DeleteYay for your movie room! Yes, of course you are loving it, especially because you worked on it. There's something extra special about doing the work yourself. I think you appreciate it that much more.
ReplyDeleteI love those little pizza rolls. That is super convenient. Can you also freeze them for using at later dates?
I agree, there really is.
DeleteNot sure, I think it should freeze well, but I've always worked with fresh. That said, I'll give it a go and see how it works. Might be great.
I'll let ya know.
PS: I do bake personal pans for the freezer, but they're fully baked and just need popped in the oven.
