6 Blobs on a Bench

We're headed out soon and since I'm not sure when we'll be back, I've prepped dough for later.  What can I say?  Take the prep cook out of the kitchen, but never the prep training, out of the cook.

Here's what I did:  Weighed six dough balls at 73g each, covered them, and tucked them away in the fridge.

I don't always portion the dough, but since these are for personal pan pizzas, I let them ferment, already shaped.  Tonight I'll pull two, shape, top, and bake.

And then ... we get to use our brand new Movie Room.  Yesterday, all the furniture went back and I flippin' love it.  Can't wait to watch our first cheesy movie, eat pizza, and snuggle.  Although, with it being Tim's Birthday Week, we'll be doing more than just snuggling.

  3. how long can dough stay like that in the fridge? But it can only be done with yeast free dough, yes?

    1. I've gone as long as three days, using a yeast dough. It ferments slower, but still very good and filled with flavour. Plus, super easy to grab two balls and shape.

As I answer comments, we have two mini calzones baking happily in the oven.

    1. About a month ago we took our little office and made it into a movie room. Then we took our living room, and turned it into a double office. Now we have all this great writing space and a nice cozy room for movies.

We live in a trailer so the living rooms are like really really long hallways. Which works pretty good for a double office.

      How's your day going?

    1. My move, as in moving to another location, has been delayed and delayed. Construction is running way behind. How was you pizza?

    2. Sorry to hear that construction is way behind, although happy to hear it's more time with your puppy. She's too cute.

We changed it up and used the dough for calzones. So yummy. Thanks for asking.

  15. These blobs totally look like a Danish pastry I make, from my MIL's recipe. I might even be inspired enough to do a blogpost...but maybe not. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up a secret family recipe ;D

    1. Lots of people don't want to give up their family secret recipes, and I understand. But when we share our heirloom recipes, techniques and passion for food, then the food lives, beyond us. And that, is a very cool thing.

    1. We changed it up and went with Master Chef because a friend sent me a note about who got kicked off. Then we watched Ghost Adventures.

  21. Yay for your movie room! Yes, of course you are loving it, especially because you worked on it. There's something extra special about doing the work yourself. I think you appreciate it that much more.

I love those little pizza rolls. That is super convenient. Can you also freeze them for using at later dates?

    1. I agree, there really is.

Not sure, I think it should freeze well, but I've always worked with fresh. That said, I'll give it a go and see how it works. Might be great.

      I'll let ya know.

PS: I do bake personal pans for the freezer, but they're fully baked and just need popped in the oven.
