Meanwhile, I'm out back writing long-hand, waiting for dough to ferment, as the pups work on their tans, and Tim enjoys the new Movie Room. And even though we're not feeling our best, there's still nowhere else I'd rather be.
How 'bout you? Are you a home person? Or would you rather be out and about until the wee hours of the morning? Us? We enjoy being out, but at the core, we're homebodies.

I like staying at home more. It is so hard for me to walk and I don't like huge sneezing/coughing crowds of people and bratty children. Now that temps are over 100 home feels pretty good.

Some days I feel the need to be a homebody. Other days, not so much!
ReplyDeleteBalance is good. That's the best. But if you had a choice between a full weekend of out and about until the wee hours of the morning, or a weekend home doing whatever you wanted, which would you fancy more?

DeleteI'm more of a home person. I occasionally enjoy being somewhere else (although I hate getting there -- travel sucks) but I've never been the sort of person who needed to be out among crowds of people till the early hours on any regular basis. When I travel, it's usually to see friends. Otherwise, my husband and I do cruises to see other countries (but mostly we like relaxing on the ship, and that doesn't mean the bars and clubs), or a few times we've gone to stay a week in a city we like. We still don't go out partying, though.
ReplyDeleteI spend most of my time hanging out online [cough] or reading, or playing computer games. I nap if I feel like it, and stay up late (reading, writing, browsing the web) if I feel like it. Even as a teenager, I was never into parties for the sake of parties.

I think I'm just the same - I like going out and doing social things, but at the core I love being home more. I need a certain amount of quiet time at my house chilling out, more than I need social interaction.

DeleteHome, absolutely. We used to like going out when we were younger. But grown-up life forces us to be out so much anyway that we now prefer to stay in.

Home wins every time. It's where my "stuff" is and I know where that "stuff" is. Only place I can truly relax away from the madding crowd. "Hell is other people" as my old pal Sartre used to say ;-)

DeleteI think it just depends on what my mood is at the moment and if we have the funds to be out. Generally, I like to be here at the house, but I also really love to be able to get out and enjoy some different scenery.

DeleteWhen I was younger I was definitely an out-and-about kinda gal. Nowadays, give me a cosy sofa, my furry family snuggled up next to me, a good TV show and a glass of vino any old day ... depending on the time of course!

DeleteWe are the same way. At the core we are homebodies, but we love being outdoors when the weather is nice. And even when we're out, it's somewhere that involves nature or nice scenery or a fun festival...not commercial places. We don't stay out late at night, and I have no interest in clubs or bars. I hope you are both feeling much better today!
