Today I paint the movie room yellow. I've upgraded it to movie slash reading room. Slash peaceful, I can't believe it took us this long to swap the house around, my husband is brilliant, room.
But see, that's too long.
Anyway, time to get one wall done. I made this little sign below but no matter what I do, frickin' Blogger keeps screwing with the background and making it not white and the words, not lemon tart yellow.
That's right. We went with Lemon Tart. When we saw it we both liked it at the same time. So that works for me.
Though right now, I'm a tad nervous that the room will look like someone shot Big Bird all over the walls.
Minus the feathers.
Hmmm...well, if it does turn out to look like that, I have plenty of feathers you can put on the wall. Because really, if it's going to look like someone shot Big Bird all over the walls, it HAS to have feathers :) Seriously, I like the color and I think it will look great!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Yes, it HAS to have feathers. Really puts things over the top.
DeleteGood luck! I've got painting to get done around here, but I keep procrastinating!
ReplyDeleteWhy procrastinating?
DeleteBecause I am so good at it...plus things keep getting in my way...like kidney stones and root canals, so, since my husband is a professional, perhaps I will wait for him!
DeleteYou are the second one here today with a professional painter Hubby. What rooms did you want to paint? I'd like to eventually re-paint all of ours.
DeleteKidney stones and root canals - yikes!
I want my bedroom and my son's bedroom done. We're going to do something with metal panels on the wall in our room, so there's not going to be THAT much painting, but hes also building out my closet some, so i suppose i can be patient. My sons room I could do myself, but there are so many legos! Its easier to keep the door closed for now!
DeleteAnd my husband has a blog attached to mine, if you ever wanted to look for ideas. He does all kinds of home improvements too!
I had to go looking for his blog. It's all the way at the bottom. Looks like he enjoys the projects. Very nice stuff.
DeleteFor me, I want an industrial prep kitchen, in my new yellow house with white trim.
Lemon tart. It will be a bright room, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteIt really will be.
DeleteI adore yellow, I have a yellow vest and shoes in my wardrobe :) Such a sunny combination!
ReplyDeleteLove your Dezzy character's yellow vest and shows. Absolutely brilliant.
DeleteI have them for real too :) but I don't often wear my yellow shoes... too fancy only for special occassions. I usually wear them with midnight blue top and very dark jeans :)
DeleteVery cool on having them for real, too.
DeleteSo fun.
Mmmm, chicken…wait that wasn't what this post was about was it?
ReplyDeleteyay for happy colors and brilliant hubbys!! Have fun painting!
Thanks. I did have fun. Lots more to do but I'm really digging the process.
DeleteI hope it turns out well and not like a Big Bird fart!
ReplyDeleteNo Big Bird farts. Though I may use that for a blog title. That's pretty funny.
DeleteHappy Painting Day!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your longer hair. The last time I saw your pic it was short. Both work on you well.
DeleteAwww...thank you.
DeleteI think you should make a sign for the door that says "Welcome To The Lemon Tart Room!" That's a cool name.
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud. I love that sign. We have a wee bit of space above the door where it might fit.
DeleteBrilliant.
you should post before and after pics :)
ReplyDeleteI just might. Took some shots already.
DeleteI love Lemon tart!! You both better buy some sunglasses, you#re gonna need them!!
ReplyDeleteNo sleeping in that room.
DeleteI love Lemon Tart, too!
ReplyDeleteFun to eat, fun to say, fun to look at.
DeletePainting is like a hairstyle. If you don't like it, you can always change it.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I opened the can and saw the real paint, I wasn't concerned about Big Bird guts anymore.
DeleteReally love the wall.
My husband is a professional painter. He's really good at knowing how a color will look on a wall. He usually recommends a lighter color because they always look darker on the walls. Hope you love it.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first paint we both liked right away. I tell ya, I'm really happy with how the first wall came out. So bright and pretty.
DeleteIf Big Bird did die in there, blame the imaginary elephant.
ReplyDeleteWe could do that.
DeleteMy mom painted the kitchen an ugly green. Wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't painted over the cabinets too. Luckily she remodeled the whole kitchen and looks much better now
ReplyDeleteUgly green. I saw a house last night that was painted ugly green but then I thought, they probably wouldn't like my Lemon Tart Room.
DeleteSo did you paint? I looked up the colour on the internet and it's so nice! Happy colours bring on good moods; they really make you feel good. Share your results once you're done. I'm so curious to see how pretty it'll look.
ReplyDeleteYou know, when I was trying to find online pictures of Lemon Tart, it never occurred to me to Google the words, Lemon Tart paint.
DeleteOh I love yellow! It's becoming one of my favorite colors merely because it is such a cheer-inducing color. Can't wait to see how it looks!
ReplyDeleteEvery spring and summer I go into my yellow. It's all about yellow, yellow, yellow.
DeleteIf I have enough paint, I'm doing the front door, too. Just so darn pretty.
P.S. I just looked up the color too and though Paul doesn't know it yet, I have a feeling we'll be painting our walls soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have one wall done, and it's really pretty.
Deletelolololol. When you say it that way, it makes me laugh a bit. It's not such a relaxing colour, eh? But .. it is a happy yellow.
