Things I Love

I love waking up to a clean kitchen.

Any other part of the house, I don't care.  But the kitchen sink, when that's empty at the start of my day, well then, I'm one Happy Whisk.

Here's another thing I love.  My hubby.  He released Manor #6.  As I type, many Manors are printing behind me.  It inspires me to want to produce my own food zine.

But for now,  I'm headed to make Poopyhead a batch of waffle sticks before he leaves for work.

Vanilla for him, chocolate chip for me.

  1. I'd love to wake up to a clean kitchen, too, but I don't know anyone who'd clean it! Haha! :)

  3. I agree, I don't think I've ever, in my whole life, left dirty dishes not overnight but not even for an hour in my sink unwashed.....

    1. That is good. Makes waking up so much better. Though I have left them overnight. But when we do them, it's heaven.

    2. I think I have a cleaning mania :) I even spent the whole night after my father's funeral last year washing hundreds of dishes and glasses even though I couldn't even feel my body after two days spent baking, cooking and preparing the funeral... It's just a mania :)

    3. That is a lot of cleaning, cooking
and baking, and for so many people.

      Yikes.

I hope you got to rest when all was
      said and done.

  4. I've got a "thing" for a clean kitchen, too. No matter how late it is when company leaves, or how tired I am, I won't go to bed until everything's taken care of in the kitchen. My hubby thinks I'm nuts, but I HATE the idea of coming into the kitchen in the morning and finding a nasty mess of dirty ash trays, beer bottles, dishes, etc. YUK!

    1. No smokers or drinkers here but we do sometimes leave the dishes overnight.

Always though, I love it better when we
have them done and I get a fresh start.

Tried to leave a comment on your blog,
and as soon as I did, whoosh, the post
      was Gonesville City.

But no, I don't think the whole peeing
thing is funny or the words on the wall.

      That's just stupid.

  5. If my whole house can't be clean when I wake up, then at least the kitchen. Yes.

I think its because its really the heart of the house, and you really don't want a dirty heart.

    1. That's a neat way to look at it. Thanks
for stopping by today. Looking forward
      to seeing your garden pictures.

  6. I so agree with you. When I wake up and the kitchen is messy it feel like I have minus time wise.
When the kitchen is clean and a extra plus if I have gotten the coffee ready to go, I feel like a great start to the day.

    cheers, parsnip

    1. That's it, Parsnip. It makes me
feel so behind to start with a
      messy kitchen. Especially, since
I like to start the day writing new
      bakes and testing formulas.

      Thanks for stopping by and
      boogie boogie :-)

  7. I hate a messy kitchen, too--fortunately, we eat a lot of takeout, so there's not as much mess!

    1. Do you like to cook/bake? I know
      some people really don't.

  9. Wait, kitchens can be clean?

  10. Yup, I like a clean kitchen, too. It's the first room I go to in the morning. And it's nice to see everything in order while I prepare my coffee. Thankfully I don't have a messy family, so that sure helps.

    1. Isn't it it the best, to walk into
a nice clean kitchen? Oh, I love
it so. And, for me, it also means
walking into a nice clean workspace
for me to write a bake.

      Have a groovy weekend.

  11. I love a clean kitchen sink. It's one of those things on my must do before bed list. But, if I have a migraine..they sit until morning. Unless Peanut feels like doing them for me, then she knocks them out. She's just a trooper like that.

Congratulations to Tim. I love the cover. Did he draw it himself? Where does he sell it? I'm popping over to his blog now to say congrats in person...

    1. Jason drew the cover, when you head
over to his site, you'll see the link to
      Jason. He does great work.

Nothing like a clean kitchen sink.

      It's heaven.

  12. Yep a clean kitchen makes this lady happy too! My momma instilled in me a loathing of leaving the dishes in the sink overnight. Course they don't always get done when they should, but it sure does make me happier to see an empty sink.

  13. P.S. I love the idea of you creating your own food zine! Very cool!
