GETTING MY BUTT OUT THE DOOR

After much farting around and a few afternoon naps, I finally got my butt out the door and picked up our Winter Solstice gifts. The stores weren't as bad as I thought they were gonna be, which was nice.

As I type, in the oven bakes a cinnamon and clove apple and it smells heavenly. Anyway, hope you all had a great holiday (for those of us that celebrate the seasons).

It feels more like the first day of spring but I'll take it. Snow, sun, rain, I don't care. I'm just happy that after tomorrow, Frankenberry will have FOUR DAYS off.

Hot dog and Happy Solstice.

  7. Afternoon naps are supposed to be good for people I heard on TV. Pity we don't do what the Mediterranean people do and have a siesta.

Made my mincemeat tart today by the way.

    1. You did? How great. How were they? Would you make them again? I wish that last year, before I got sick, that I had, had a chance to try one. Best I can do now, is make a mock-version but that won't be nearly even close.

Very cool that you made yours. Will you post pictures?

    2. Just one large tart Ivy. In the fridge now, will try it on Boxing Day (26th). Will try and remember to take a pic.

    3. Very cool on the large tart. I hadn't thought about doing that, but it's a very good idea.

  8. Spring is here, too. Doesn't feel one bit like winter. We have some rain but no problem.

    1. Yeah, me too. No problem. I think we get the lion's share of snow so, it'll reach your place and then mine, soon enough. Not that I don't enjoy it, because I really do find it lovely. But if it wants to be spring now instead, then who am I to argue with Mother Nature?
