I'm doing a post to say howdy, as Tim waits for his meat-filled sub. He's part of the Cavemen Club, here at Wegmans. Me, not so much. But I did recently make lamb at home twice and LOVED it.
Anyway, health took a leap forward and then quickly mocked me with a few stumbles back. That's the way of things, I suppose. Then I had a few house projects that needed my full attention. Anyway, I'm back. Hope you're all well. Have a great rest of your night and I'll catch ya'll again soon.
PS: Here's a shot of my supper, as I wait for Frankenberry. Eating out isn't an option for me, so I picked through the bulk bins. The dried, organic mango is heaven.
Heaven, I say, heaven.
Howdy to you too!
ReplyDeleteOh Ivy ... it's great to see this post.
Sorry you've had a few health stumbles, may they be out of the way soon. You have many blogging friends that are only too willing to offer a 'virtual hand' to help you out, with so many positive thoughts and good wishes .... Zoom loads coming to you NOW!
I'm glad to hear the dried organic mango is heaven
Take Care
All the best Jan
Howdy to you, Jan. Thanks for the nice words. I was offline most of the week, working on some house projects. The starts and stops of healing is all part of the fun.
DeleteYes, that dried organic mango made me miss my old food dehydrator.
Baking anything fun these days?
So glad you are still with us, relatively speaking Ivy. Sorry you have had some bad health turns though. Never heard of dried mango. Lamb twice eh? I am delighted you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes. I spent most of the week unplugged getting some house stuff done and dealing with health stuff. All part of the fun.
DeleteYes, twice lamb. I bought two cuts, both on the cheaper side. Made a stew with the first piece and the second were shanks. I braised them, took 3.5 hours and then reduced the braising liquid and served over chunky gold mash potatoes.
It was so tender and delicious that today, I bought two more shanks.
How's the mince pies? Did they start making them yet?
Sounds good. I love lamb. Won't go back for the pies, got the ingredients to make my own instead.
DeleteI was just catching up on your blog and saw that. Good deal. Tonight I copied a recipe for mince, from BBCGoodFood Magazine. Love that publication.
DeleteSorry you had a set back. Glad you're feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteI see the mango, and the pistachios, and the cashews, but what are those sausage-looking things?
Those are spelt sesame sticks. I love those things. Gotta learn how to make them myself. Then below those are pecans. But just a few, they were expensive.
DeleteI like dried mango too -- so flavourful!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, it's a punch of flavour in every flippin' bite. I never had that before, dried.
DeleteWelcome back Ivy! It's great that you like lamb...red meat you know.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I won't (due to health issues), be able to eat the chops rare. So I passed on the chops and went with other cuts.
DeleteDelish.
You look after yourself Whisk!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lurker. Will do.
DeleteSo wonderful to see you blogging, Wonder Woman! I hope you take many steps forward with your health. I'm cheering for you. I've never tried dried mango and I should since I love this fruit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the cheers. I'm cheering you guys on, in hopes of getting your place sold.
DeleteLooks like a very healthy meal! Like Martha, I love fresh mangos, but have never tried them dried. I'd have to admit though, I'd be tempted to get a sub myself! Prayers and good wishes for good health for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks bunches, Bethany. I never had dried mango before yesterday, but When I saw there was no added sugars, I had to go for it.
Deleteooo, I'd be sitting beside your Tim ordering a sub...I get the veggie sub with cheese and honey mustard. :)
ReplyDeleteHoping you can control your allergies, thus feeling good thru the Christmas fun.
Allergies aren't the problem these days, but thanks for the well-wishes.
DeleteDo you order subs out much?
Just surviving... that's what I call the period when you were not posting :-)
ReplyDeleteI am also in the cavemen club, is Tim aware of that new technology... fire! hahaha
Thanks for stopping by, Richard. Here's to an At day for you, as well as the week. Yes, fire good.
DeleteMy husband eats like a caveman but I'm more a grazer of fruits and veggies.
ReplyDeleteDo you do a lot of cooking for your Honey Bunny?
DeleteGood to see you about. Do take it easy, though!
ReplyDeleteThank you, William. I'm slowly playing blogger catch-up.
DeleteHave you had any problems with your blog getting the opps page? Mine did yesterday.
Good to see you back in Blogland, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteLook after yourself.
Hey Ms Shelia. Thanks for dropping by. I'll be by your place soon, to see what wonderful cartoons you've drawn.
DeleteYay! You're here! Sorry about those darn setbacks. Glad you always find your way forward though! They say patience is a virtue but sometimes I thing persistence is also a virtue! Take care my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lori. I'll be over soon to catch-up on your recovery journey. Great to see you.
