As I write this post, my oven is filled with raw pumpkin, happily baking away. Bug is running up and down the hall like a crazy dog. Tim's got the game on, and Wiggy is hiding from her sister.
Last weekend when I broke the other one down, I did eat that as a veggie. With butter and salt. Then butter cinnamon and brown sugar. And also, I make a pumpkin spiced apple sauce - which will go into bakes.
But yeah, with this new batch I'll do bakes, and probably leves (soup), and stuff like that.
It sounds like a great day! I got all your messages, and I love them. It's always fun getting your emails. Who doesn't enjoy fun stuff from Wonder Woman? I've been disconnected for hours on end all weekend. Totally relaxed now. Went out for supper with my wonderful hubby, and stopped in at the bookstore that happens to be right next door to the restaurant we went to. It was a nice evening. Sipping the last of my tea as I write this, and getting ready for popcorn and a little TV. Life is good, isn't it?
Hey Suzie - last weekend I made spiced pumpkin apple sauce, among a few other goodies. So much fun that I had to do it again this week. Didn't feel it was an undertaking. But I did wish I had the camera rolling.
Hi Ivy, I love pumpkins and am wondering what are you baking with those yummy pumpkin. Must be something very delightful and full of flavors. Well, you have a great day and cheers :)
Doesn't sound like it could get much better!

ReplyDeleteIt was, Norma. How went your weekend?
DeleteWhat do you do with the pumpkins when you have baked them
ReplyDeleteAfter baking I peeled back the skins, let the meat rest and blitzed them to puree. Now the batch is stashed away for more fun later.
DeleteDo you eat the pumpkin as a veggie, or will you be using it for pie or bread or muffins or...? :)
ReplyDeleteBet it smells good, though.

ReplyDeleteYes, you got to see the pumpkin in every stage but the last. I had the cameras away by time I finished the job.
DeletePopcorn, TV and your hubby, and all those fun holiday posts you've been up too. Life really is good, that's for darn sure.
Sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteHey Linda - Hope your weekend was wonderful and Happy New Week.
DeleteWhat did you do with the Pumpkin, Pumpkin?
ReplyDeleteHappy with the games result, hoping we keep it up and that final game could well be a real showstopper
Ian
Hahaha, Pumpkin, Pumpkin. I got the chunks baked off and processed into a puree. Now the goop is resting in the fridge for some fun bakes.
DeleteYeah, Tim was happy to see the end game result as well. Here's hoping they keep going.
I have roasted pumpkin before and it is quite an undertaking so bravo! Can't wait to see and hear what you're going to do with it.

ReplyDeleteHey Sherry - I did watch that entire video today and thought it was funny. Nothing like good clean fun.
DeleteYum. The smell of pumpkin in the fall.
ReplyDeleteIs it still autumn near you? We've been into winter, mixed in with weird spring days. So odd, but fun.
