After lots of shopping, and very little money spent, I stopped into the doughnut shoppe for a little hot chocolate and bagel lunch.
I had the choice to go to the shoppe downtown where the food was better, or stay here on the hill, where the food isn't as good but the seating is fantastic.
For me, better seating won because I want to sit here, fart around on my tablet and sip my crappy little cuppa hot chocolate. As I write to you now, I'm tucked in a corner nook, tip tappin' my happy little fingers, away.
Which would you pick, food or seating?
Both - I'd stay home.
ReplyDeleteOr is that cheating?
Yes, you stinker. That's cheating.
DeleteAs an introvert I would choose seating. A nice little corner booth.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, Birdie. Yes, little corner is what I found. Two hours, I stayed, tucked away.
DeleteI would probably choose seating.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun post to read all the answers. Thanks for playing. Meanwhile, I had a blast sending you photos of my doughnut and bagel. So silly you and are both are but that's the fun of it, eh?
DeletePS: Got the foil for my homemade cutters. Will let you know how it goes.
Seating and a good view, hands down. Ambiance is a huge factor when we go out.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it's only a cup of hot chocolate. Who cares if it's not that brilliant. You can always make another when you get home.
Enjoy!
Very true, Wendy. And drinking bad hot chocolate only teaches me how to improve my own when I go home.
DeleteThanks for playing.
I'd make the same choice as you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, Debra. I wish I could have taken all of you from today's FQ, with me to the doughnut shoppe. Although, we might have a hard time, all fitting in the corner.
DeleteI'm the same as Alex. Apart from which a hot chocolate (don't like) and bagel are not on my lunch menu.
ReplyDeleteYou two are brats :-)
DeleteI go for easy--whichever one is closest and easiest to get to. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was part of it for me, now that I think of it. The one on the hill is right by my house, and near the markets.
DeleteLoved seeing your tree. More pictures, more pictures. Keep 'em coming.
It has to be the food! I've found the blog that Google destroyed and as it has all my kind followers still on it I have undeleted. Do you think you could add yourself as a follower on that blog,
ReplyDeleteOops, thin you are already on the old blog, same title! Sorry!
DeleteLooks like we got everything squared away, Carole. Did you ever find that mince pie can cuppa coffee you were looking for, last night?
DeleteI'm with you on this one.....the seating!
ReplyDeleteAnd good seating it was. Hope all is well with you and your girls. Thanks for playing, Rayolla.
DeleteThe food.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't for sure which you would say but then I got to thinking about those good subs you tell me about.
DeleteI could eat one of those now.
Thanks for playing. This was super fun to read everyone's comments.
tough choice, but we tend to avoid crowds.
ReplyDeleteBoth places kind of go in waves but I guess the downtown one is a little busier. That's why the food is better though, they turnover FAST.
DeleteSeating is more important for me. I like to tuck myself away somewhere in the shop and quietly do my thing. I don't mind if the coffee/hot chocolate/tea is not that great if I'm happy where I am.
ReplyDeleteAnd hey there, Wonder Woman! I'm finally stopping in to say hello. It's been a very VERY busy week, but the weekend will be nice and quiet. I'm so looking forward to it!
You really have had a busy week, by golly. Glad you're going into the a nice quiet weekend.
DeleteYes, tucked in and farting with my tablet. I spent two hours and if it hadn't been for chores, I would have stayed longer.
Maybe not so much sugar next time as this morning, sugar hangover, big time. Oy.
I don't like crowds, like Christine above...but I think seating is more important when it is a fast food place or a coffee shop. However, as far as a restaurant goes, I think food and seating are equally important to me, as we pay more in such places and we expect the food to be at least good if not great. :) Great post.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point too, when eating in a restaurant, it should be both.
DeleteThanks so much for playing. Super fun to read the comments.
Happy Christmas.
If it is just a cup of coffee or chocolate I guess your OK where you were.
ReplyDeleteBut I would pick the better food. I am sure the other shop has it's charms.
Plus I refuse to waste my money on bad food. I would hope if enough people complained they would get the idea.
Why not have both view and good food.
cheers, parsnip
Yes, I loved my choice as the seating there is heaven. And the food, it's the pits, it's just not as high turnover as in town. Where downtown is faster paced, more sells, they have to bake more.
DeleteNow, if I'm going for drive-through bagels, because I'm out at home of fresh, I always take the drive downtown.
Thanks for playing, and happy belated Square Dog Friday.
Or, Happy Circle Dog Saturday.
DeleteMost of the time I'd opt for better food--but if I'm tired and too hungry to go the distance, I'd go for the better seating.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that because you don't so much bake at home. Thanks for playing.
DeletePS: I saw a stuffed Minon at the store yesterday and thought of you.
I go for food, usually. I can remember eating pb&js next to the Sulfur Cauldron in Yellowstone. The smell was disgusting, but hunger won out.
ReplyDeleteI know, not quite what you're getting at, but what can I say. I'm odd. lol!
This is an excellent answer, Ava. I would pick food in that case too. Phew. But like you said, hungry sometimes wins out.
DeleteThanks for playing and keep writing them there good posts. You got the gift, for sure.
A lot of the times I would pick what is closest and easiest for me. If they're the same, I would pick how crowded and cramped a place is. If I am going to relax, I don't want to be in elbow-to-elbow with others. I'm glad you got to play on your tablet and enjoy crappy cocoa!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzie. This is part of my get relax time in and it was super nice. Though next time I won't be so dumb and eat all that sugar. Hangover, city, today.
DeleteD&D again this weekend for you?
The best, of course, would be good food and good seating, but if I had to choose, it would definitely be good food. I eat out so seldom, and when I do, it must be really good food.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, dkzody. I don't know you but welcome to my little corner of the Internet.
DeleteCheers and boogie boogie.
Hey dkzody - I left a comment on your blog but it didn't go through. Or maybe it will show up later. Not sure but I seem to have problems posting on WP blogs, gosh darn.
DeleteAnyway, nice to see someone having a good time in the kitchen.
I'd pick my own kitchen.
ReplyDeleteCheater :-)
DeleteFun question! I would choose the place that was most magical, most made me feel like xmas. If that is the place with the best seating and people watching, which it might well be, then it would be that one but if downtown had better lights then.... So, for my town at least, I would have to choose downtown where, yes, the food is better, NOT b/c of the food, mind you. No, no, all b/c the lights are awesome down there. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, Michael. Good food and good seating is a win, win. Glad you have such a place. I love too, when decorated for Christmas.
DeleteCheers and boogie boogie.
