  1. Blimey Ivy, how can I not look when you write a blog title like that? :-)

  2. I need to print that out and stick it above my PC right where my eyeline is.

  3. austrodavicus: One time I accidentally write 14 days without a frig, as a title, but I meant to write, fridge.

Dangerous Brian: Glad you like it. I wrote it myself, after a KICK-ASS writing day. Then Tim used Xara to put it on a typewriter for me. So fun.

  4. I was taught long ago by a mentor at my first gig as an assistant editor to practice the art of the "shitty draft"'(pardon my French). Just write anything and don't let the inner voices slow you down, but revise, revise, revise.

  5. Cake: I agree. I'm a huge fan of writing through the crappy parts. And, a fan of if it sucks, make it not suck. As for revise, revise, revise ... absolutely.

  6. I definitely agree! Words on the page is what counts. Rewrites make it brilliant :-)

  8. Excellent news, and the working through is sound advice. Fond memories of your 'frig' post.

  9. I usually insert fat where wet is, good to hear though and I'd like my comment not to be touching Ray's comment as I have a restraining order against him now and he cannot approach within 200 metres.

  10. Angela: Sometimes the work really does suck a big hairy wet one. That's okay too. Just gotta fix it until it doesn't suck anymore. That's the job.

Ray: Play nice. Or no socks for you.

Porky: I laughed when I commented about the frig. 14 days without a frig and 14 days without a fridge. Two very different things. lololol.

Lurker: Luckily Porky got in there to stop that from happening. 200 metres??? How will he bring you tea?

Susan: Thanks. I'm digging this one part after a long battle with it.

    Patti: Double yeah!

William: I like how Tim put my words into a typewriter. So fun.
