Boy, these 2 day work weeks are killer. Good thing our 10 day staycation starts Friday.
I'm all set with ingredients. Bought three whole chickens. Gonna chop 'em up and make yummy things.
And yesterday, we found a new Borders. It's a little over an hour away but the drink was amazing and the cafe, very nice.
I even bought a new book with a 50% off coupon.
Not too shabby.
And now, if you'll excuse me, there's steamed yam mash with my name on it. Along with good butter, sea salt and organic steamed broccoli.
Num num num.
Yams and butter and sea salt...yum!
ReplyDeleteSo yum. Just added the broccoli and in about two minutes, I'll be enjoying my dinner (lunch).
ReplyDeleteLife is hard in the fast lane...
ReplyDeleteIt really is. I'm not sure how I do it.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2 day work week to you! Man. You've got me beat on the whole meal thing so far. I've had a cup of yogurt. heh. Enjoy =)
ReplyDeleteOur local market sells an organic yogurt that I gobble up. In fact, just had a peach yogurt this morning before my jog.
ReplyDeleteNice! I've working a 3 day work week this week!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy ;)
Those two day work weeks are a killer! I'll be glad to lend you a few of my 5 days. ;)
ReplyDeleteso can we come over for a cook-out, i will bring the pretzels and taco meat!
ReplyDeleteSooner you get a 5 day the better my friend, hows Mr Wiggy? Enjoy your lunch:D
ReplyDeleteBliss: It's nice to have a few short weeks, sprinkled throughout the year. My job at the shop though, has a bit too many. I don't mind this week though, since we're going on holiday. Enjoy your three day work week.
ReplyDeleteTrey: I know it. Two days. It's tough stuff. And both nights too, so I won't even get to see Tim. Like Cake said. It's hard living in the fast lane.
iZombie: Glad to see you survived the 21st. Sure thing. The more the merrier. I never had taco meat before. So many new things to try.
Lurker: This week aside, it will be. Last week they gave me 24 hours and the week before 30, but it's so hit or miss. Which is fine for a second job, but not so much for a first. Still no word from the pound. Bummer.
It was all so awesome untill "steamed yam mash".. then you lost me
ReplyDeleteOh ... but it's so nummy.
ReplyDeleteStay-cations are nice. I'm starting one on Thursday. Just need to stock up on "liquid bread."
ReplyDeleteLiquid bread? Is that anything like powdered milk?
ReplyDeleteIt's like a snapshot of heaven - day after day after day off, sunshine, good food, and a puppy. It makes me happy just reading about it.
ReplyDeleteSteamed yams are great. I like yams and sweet potatoes, even if I'm not sure of the precise difference. Cooked a whipped sweet potato and banana casserole for Thanksgiving last year.
ReplyDeletePorky: That's very nice of you to say. Thanks. Not every day is heaven. Like the day she went pee pee on the bedroom floor. But overall, it's pretty darn good. And I'm ready for a staycation, too.
ReplyDeleteDocStout: Sweet potato and banana casserole? How about that. Never thought of that, but it does sound yummy.
Have a great staycation! And enjoy your cooking :)
ReplyDelete@ Whisk - What doesn't wash us away only makes us stronger. We're ready for your staycation too if it means more posting.
ReplyDeleteAlexia and Porky: Thanks both of you!
ReplyDeleteSteamed yams!!! I love orange food!
