CANTALOUPE WAS A NO-GO

The cantaloupe ice cream from Tuesday didn't work. Notice in the picture below, that the fruit remained crumbly. I'll search for a companion fruit/vedge that will add cream but not detract from the delicate cantaloupe taste. Or maybe I'll use the fatty part of the canned coconut milk. We'll see. Either way, this one is not ready for a how-to

In other news, Tim has a three day weekend. Our big plans include drive the pretty new car to the bookstore, at least twice.  But right now, it's time to hit the slab. Tim and the pups are snoring, and I'm soon to follow.

Zzzzzzz.

  1. Maybe it's the Breville, it was just too powerful for the job! You should sell it, I offer you $50 cash :-)

    1. Cool beans. I've been watching product review videos and you might be able to get away with the blender, if you don't over-liquid. That's where I saw most if them go wrong. They made frozen soup.

      Enjoy and have fun.

  5. Hmmm... Might be why Tropical Smoothie Café adds bananas to most of their smoothies. It makes them smooth! :)

Enjoy the bookstore. And your trips to the bookstore. And whatever else kind of trip you want to make in Betty! :)

    1. Very true. Frozen nanners add that wonderful creamy texture to dairy-free ice creams. BUT .... I don't want them mixed with the cantaloupe taste, so I'm leaving them out, out, out.

    1. That's the fun part of writing food. Just like writing anything. If it doesn't work, I rewrite.

      Love it.

  8. Too bad about the cantaloupe. Though your "baby cheater" -as a little old lady I knew used to call rubber scrapers- is cantaloupe colored and very pretty. :)

Oooh the bookstore!! Whatcha gonna get?

    1. I like to read about whole foods and baking, cookery fun and Tim writes. Big-ass caramel overload for him. Peppermint tea for me.

Do you have a Barnes near you?
