The Kibosh + How-To Green Goo

So my big plans to make crackers and tart shells got the kibosh yesterday due to blah, blah, spinal stuff, blah, blah.  On the good news though, I got to meet Hubby for brown bag lunch and then do a little ingredient shopping.

I scored jalapenos, prunes, Hungarian hot peppers, killer scallions, and one rotten banana.  As soon as my body allows, I'll be back in the lab, brewin' up goodies.

Like this one here, served in a zombie mug.

1 big green bell pepper
3 celery ribs
organic apple juice (homemade if you have it)

Might look gross but this is my new favorite drink.  So flippin' good.  Talk about sustained energy.  I'm tellin' ya.  For me, this beats a cuppa Joe, any day of the week.

    1. It's super delish. Soon the sweet red peppers will be cheap and for those, I don't add anything. Just straight sweet red pepper.

      So flippin' good.

  2. I adore green food but hate peppers, especially green ones, so that one would be no for me.
But there's nothing I love more than a good rotten banana! Did you know rotten bananas are good cure against cancer?

    2. yep, they're better ripe, but if you wanna keep them yellow for a longer time just wrap some tinfoil around their bottoms where they're tied together

    3. Cool beans. The organic bunches I buy for eating come wrapped and protected. And the taste. Heaven.

The rotten one for yesterday is for a weekend bake.

    4. I drink bananas everyday :) Mix them with orange juice, honey and some mineral water. And you can get a nice homemade quick icecream if you mix them just with whipped cream and a drop of lemon juice and put them into freezer

    5. Banana orange is a killer combo. Love them in a smoothie together. I also like to make homemade banana baby food. Your ice cream sounds killer good.

    1. I love it. But I love peppers of all kinds, whole, juiced, raw, cooked, baked, roasted.

      Do you like peppers?

    1. It does look bad, but also kind of cool with the green goo glow. That's right, I'd have to make yours without celery.

    1. I'm baking today, so no complaints. Hope all is well on your end. It's cold here today, but I am loving this autumn-like summer.

      How goes you?

  9. As I've mentioned before, I have a little trouble with a green drink. I like my veggies crunchy.

    1. You're not alone in the green thing. As for crunchy, there's some crunchy bits on the top. From time to time. A little chunky green goo.

  10. I would try this. not a huge fan of celery but with everything else it sounds really good.
Daughter gave me a Magic Bullet blender, I am going to try the low sugar OJ, spinach or kale and a banana ? I think. It sounds pretty good to me.

    cheers, parsnip

    1. The apple and the pepper mostly takeover the celery but it's easy enough to leave out.

The kale and spinach in a bullet will be a little thicker than in a juicer, so the banana might make the drink extra thick. But if you splash some homemade organic apple juice instead of banana, the drink might be easier to get down. Either way though, congrats on the new toy. Lots of fun to make drinks.

I look forward to hearing about your new drinks. It's great fun to have a new toy.

      Cheers and boogie boogie.

    1. I swear, it goes down smooth.

Though probably not so smooth if blended, rather than juiced.

  16. It looks very refreshing. And a zombie mug? Love it. That is super cool. Just shutting down to watch a movie with hubby. Spent the evening biking, and stopped to have a coffee. Simple stuff. The best.

I wanted to pop by and say hello...and 'nite nite before I head off to make popcorn.

I hope you are feeling much better very soon, Wonder Woman. Your lab is waiting for you!
