It's Saturday night and our butts are parked at Barnes. At home, tonight's supper is prepped and ready. And earlier today, after the Farmer's Market, I wrote and baked draft 1 of the bestest ever, jalapeno crackers.
In other news, here are the newly-stained bedroom closet doors, first coat. Not to be confused with the closet from the Lemon Tart Room. That closet ain't EVER coming back. Anyway, here's what we did today.
I'll let ya' know after Tim makes a batch for me. I will write/print the method, then I leave the lab and he follows the steps.
He doesn't bake and it's a real good practice for me to see if my writing makes sense and of course, to see if the formula works when someone else does it.
Just doing another post and then today, it's blueberry pie day. Never made one before.
Did you guys have your wine last night? We had our drinks at Barnes. Yum.
OK. Yes we did have our wine, tried a new one, a Valpolicella which was recommended. Always like Valpolicellas and this was no exception. Had my fizz and smoked salmon today.
Tim did a great job on those doors! I'm sure your jalapeno crackers are very *interesting!* We have a friend who makes very fiery ketchup and pickles that leave you gasping for breath and gulping ice water! Even his baked beans are hot! I'm sure he would love your crackers. I *might* be brave enough to try them...and then maybe I'd have to write a blog post about the experience!
Much congrats to you and your jogging fun. As for the water, that only makes the spice hotter on the tounge. People do better with dairy or plain bread as a cooling agent.
If I could, I'd teleport you a few sample crackers.
I love our Farmer's Market and yesterday I bought some Raspberry-Jalepeno jelly. Also bought fresh baked lemon bars and some delicious peaches. Wish I had doors like that!!
Did it cool down near you? As I write this, the windows and doors are open, the air is OFF and the oven has been on once, soon to go on again. The breeze and already Halloween decorated house, makes it feel like the spooky season.
I love that!
What did you guys have good to eat today? We had another round of crackers.
Well done (we) Tim ... they look great. Your peppers look great too, and I'm sure the jalapeno crackers tasted delicious.
Farmer's markets are such fun. I like going and having a look around at the variety of fresh food available ... especially if they have some bargains, which can happen!
Yes to the bargains. I will often buy seconds or the uglies for a better deal. Or, they toss extras in my bags because I am spending a twenty at their table. Which isn't that much money for all that we get.
Happy Weekend to you, Jan. Hope you're eating lots of yummy things this summer.
what a beautiful stain, and I love the fresh green of the peppers.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteLovely doors and although I am not a fan of jalepeno peppers, those have a nice sheen and no spots...You're right about the clutter.
ReplyDeleteEasy enough to drop the chili.
DeleteTim is sure working up a storm Ivy. Jalapeno crackers, that sounds different.
ReplyDeleteI made them again for today's breakfast. How goes your Sunday?
DeleteMuch as usual Ivy. So how do you make jalapeno crackers?

DeleteWoohoo on the peaches. Excited to get my paws on some of those, soon.
Do you have any lemon bars left?
That really is a beautiful stain....
