Happy Square Dog Saturday.
Some of 'em still are
Very true. Here, we also have purple asparagus and white. And green. So fun.
My favorite are purple potatoes :-)
But were roses red?
I dunno????? You guys are asking good questions today. But I don't have a rose book to look that one up.
We have purple carrots in our garden. Yum!
Are they related to beets?
I dunno? That's a good question. Let me look .... Okay ... I'm looking at one of my many wholefoods books and it reads that beets are a member of the ubiquitious goosefoot family and carrots are part of the taproot crop.Neato. Thanks for the question :-)
That is pretty cool. I think it would be fun to serve colourful carrots like that.
The wonders of artificial selection. Before GMOs, it was the fastest way to make organisms evolve. Most of the foods you see in the grocery store and the flowers you see in the florist shop did not originate without humans.
I did not know that!
