I'm working on homemade ice creams, sherbets, sorbets and soft serve, yums. All free of dairy, eggs and refined sugars.
Special THANKS! to my new friend Elizabeth. My plan was to mush the banana and then freeze. But her experience was freeze, then blitz in the food processor. Brilliant. I'll never eat store-bought ice cream again, there's just no need, this stuff is THAT good.
From there, I've been working on all kinds of combinations. The one below is pineapple, apple and banana with a wee bit of local maple syrup.
Allergies might suck, but the writing sure doesn't.
Sounds divine! I tried tofu ice cream and it was kinda awful. But, fruit pops rock!
ReplyDeletePS: I love your pictures. Well done.
Thanks, Girl. It's fun to do.
DeleteBean curd ice cream for me, is a bit on the heavy side, or was. It's been a million years since I tasted them. They might be better now.
Omg that looks divine!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could share it with you.
DeleteSo good...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your story being published!
DeleteWOOOHOO!
One I always loved was frozen banana whisked up with chocolate or cocoa powder. Delicious.
ReplyDeleteNeat that you got all that asparagus. Wonder how it would taste mixed in with fruit? Maybe not so good, but I tell ya, I like kale and spinach in smoothies, so who knows. Maybe ice cream would work too.
DeleteAgreed on the chocolate and nanners. Two great tastes together!
Oh, that sounds tasty!
ReplyDeleteIt was heavenly.
DeleteNeat on your new art toy. I love digital drawing, it's great fun. I'm still new to it but I don't see stopping, anytime soon.
Best to you and your son. Bring on the adventures.
Great tip!
ReplyDeleteAnd a big hahahaha to you on your last post. That Ellen one made me laugh, out loud. And the water one. All were funny, but those two were my top picks.
DeleteSounds divine, send those recipies my way!
ReplyDeleteAnything you want, just drop me an email. What's mine is yours.
DeleteThanks for the tips Ivy. I can't wait to try it out!
ReplyDeleteIt's super easy and you can use low-sugar fruits and even sneak is a few vedge. Nuts, all kinds of goodies.
DeleteIf there's anything I can help you with, you can reach me here or my email on the side of the blog.
And WOW! Congrats on you and your wife hitting a million steps. Dang. You guys rock.
We don't have time to rock, we are too busy walking LOL
DeleteI don't think I'll use sugar as fruits has plenty of... well maybe a little maple sirup could fall by "accident" in the mixer :)
The maple is nice but again, only a wee bit for me. It helps to mix and bind. Though too much makes it watery and yikes, sweet.
DeletePS: Haha on the walk. Again, congrats.
Looks tasty!
ReplyDeleteSuper refreshing.
DeleteGreat dessert on a hot summer day!
ReplyDeleteI would not have known who that picture was on your blog, if you didn't tell me.
DeleteYes, very good for summer.
I love homemade ice cream but I hate pineapple. Way too sweet for me.
ReplyDeleteHey Girl - That's an easy fix. Just remove the frozen pineapple and use anything else that you fancy. No rules. All yum.
DeleteWhat a phote, I could eat it right off the screen.

DeleteThanks for the kind words, Shelia. I enjoyed your art today. Vibrant and alive. Well done, you.
DeleteI make banana whips all the time! I even bought a Yonanas!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Yonanas :-) But after I looked it up I understood what it was. Looks fun.
DeleteI would eat that!
ReplyDeleteIt was killer good. I've made it SEVERAL times, now.
DeleteI love this idea! I'm going to have to try it out with some fruits. Not sure which one to start with but there certainly are some great choices. Lucky me, I love fruit! It sounds like you're having a great time over at your place. Homemade ice cream party!
ReplyDeleteI tell ya' the truth. I will never eat store-bought ice cream, sorbets, sherbets, gelato or ANY of that, again. There's just no need for me to do that, when this is totally customizable, and allergy-friendly.
DeleteI really love this idea, Ivy. I love pineapple. :)
