I'm not here today. I'm writing allergy-friendly bakes. This wasn't the direction I planned on taking my food writing, but as it turns out, I'm a good fit for the job.
Which makes sense, I've been doing this forever - creating recipes to fit our needs at the moment.
This week, I'm writing a cookie recipe for a friend who has food allergies that are worse than my snot-filled, gummy-throat dairy allergy. His allergy list is also more challenging, but I'm determined to write a safe bake.
What a fun challenge.
You Boogerbutts have a yummy day & boogie boogie :-)
There are always substitutes. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSometimes they're easy swaps, sometimes not so easy. But that's the fun.
DeleteSaw you added reply on your blog. It's a fun feature on blogs. People get to chat and it's far more personal.
Sounds challenging -- have fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun. I do this each day, anyway, now I'm just helping someone else.
DeleteSaw the donkey butt thing ... brilliant.
Enjoy the challenge.
ReplyDeleteHope you and your hubby are feeling better.
DeleteWell aren't you such a sweetie?! And yes, you are very good at this!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun. What are you eating today? Something yummy, I hope.
DeleteThat does sound like a challenge!
ReplyDeleteMy kind of party.
DeleteGood luck. What a lucky friend to have someone create a cookie he can eat! :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have at least one cookie they can enjoy. Good luck with your goals.
Deleteno milk no butter...hmm. I've heard of almond milk. Sure you will come up with something great.
ReplyDeleteHey Christine - I never baked with cow's milk anyway, as I find it gross. That, and most nearly all my bakes are vegan anyway. Now though, we have a few other restrictions for our friend, but the challenge is great fun.
DeleteHappy 2015.
Sounds interesting. I know you'll meet the challenge.
ReplyDeleteIt's my kind of thing, and I do it already for us, so why not try and write something for someone else.
DeleteRead your post. Great new cover.
Sounds like a tough challenge. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteDo you bake? If not, it's great fun.
DeleteI knew a guy who couldn't eat much. More food allegries than you could imagine, plus the gluten thing. He said that one of the few restaurants he could go to were asian ones.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense if they had lots of veggies and rice. Easy on the tummy.
DeleteI'm sure you'll come up with something yummy.
ReplyDeleteMuhahaha.
DeleteA challenge can be fun, especially if it's in the area you enjoy messing around in. This morning I spent a couple of hours doing miniature scenario photography. OHMYGOSH...so much fun. I'll have to introduce this new theme on my blog. That macro lens is exactly what I needed to launch this. Love it. I have to think of a title for my miniature photo theme. I've asked hubby to help find a fun name. If you think of anything, shout it out. Or email me :) I'm behind again on emails and blogs, but I finally made it to yours to say 'hey'! Hope you had a groovy day. Almost time for popcorn...
ReplyDeleteI am excited for your new theme. Very fun. And hahaha, I spent the morning writing food and taking close-ups. No micro for me yet, but soon.
DeleteReally excited to see what you come up with. I still miss your other blog.
I'll give the title a think ... hmmm ...
Happy 2015, happy whisk!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you happily whisking a dairy-free bake for your friend? Try using some vegan recipes... That will work!
Zoe
Hi Zoe - Most all of my bakes are vegan, but thanks bunches. Yeah, he's got far worse than just dairy.
DeleteHappy 2015.
Sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda - Do you like to bake?
DeleteWell… what's a girl gotta come down with to make that cookie list of yours. Hmmm… I'm allergic to my Visa bill, oh… and my cell phone bill, yup, and the vet bill…. ooohhhh that one makes me break out in bumps from head to toe. Cookie recipe please…. :P :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, that was really funny. I enjoyed your comment. Pretty good stuff.
