Baker's Report: FUN

The chocolate chip agave muffins that I wrote, gave me a face rash. Though the science was right, in that the muffins baked and rose properly, the taste however, needs a few tweaks. I'll also need to locate, remove and replace the allergen.

But that's the fun of writing food.

Sometimes the science is off but the flavours are good. Other times it's the other way around. And on occasion, nothing works and it's a complete rewrite.

Whichever the case, it's all fun....except for the face rash.

  1. I hope you've got a soothing cream for that rash.

  2. Rashes, especially face rashes, are not nice. I, like Debra, hope you have a soothing and healing cream for it.

  3. I've never even made muffins let alone tried to invent different ones. Hope the rash disappears quickly.

  4. Does this mean you're allergic to Guava? That's certainly an interesting combination. I'd like to see how they tasted.

    1. I don't think it's the agave nectar. Though I am using a new brand, so I can't be for sure until I try more.

  6. What do you think caused the rash? The muffins sound yummy.

  7. Woah! Ivy, that's rough. I hope you get down to the bottom of what is causing the issue.

    1. Thanks :-)

We have a pretty good idea of what the root issues are, which is always the best place to start.

    1. I've got an ides, but won't know for sure until I test the new batch.

But really, I don't mind, as I'm able to write my way through, and that is great fun.

  11. The rash is not fun. But the baking is. So now you'll work on tipping the scale to the good side. And I've no doubt you'll figure it out. I love your quirky little drawing; not so happy about you having a rash!

  12. Hmmm…. those swirls look serious. If you didn't have them on your chin and forehead I'd say it was a case of blush overuse! hahahahaha

I love how you love to experiment no matter the cost to your sweet face.

    1. Does look like blush overdose.

Though I don't write bakes at the cost of my health. I had tested these ingredients separately, first. However, once together, something went a muck.

I've got some ideas on what ... so onto the second draft, I go.

  15. Face rash? Ouch! tehy BETTER be good in that respect then. Oh dear me. Hope you are clearing up now. I remember once eating a massive amount of pistachio nuts, having never had them before, then having a terrible reaction to it for rest of the day...in the loo. NOT fun. And I wasn't even making anything exotic like at least you can say you did! :)
