How weird. I just received my package from Burpee's with a Shitake mushroom kit. I love mushrooms in stir fry and in sauces. Sliced for the stir fry of course. I like your blog and do appreciate it when you stop by mine. By the way, why do you ask if we like mushrooms? Have a great day. Do you like mushrooms? :))
Very cool that you got that kit. How fun. I've never eaten a Shitake before? I'm not even sure how to spell it.
Each Friday I ask a question. Sometimes it's food-related and sometimes not so much. I took the idea from my husband Tim - who I often call, Frankenberry.
Back in the day, he did a regular Friday Question on his blog and I found it fun.
Yes, I love mushrooms. More so when they are marked down at the market, as that's when I'll treat myself to a box.
I like the favor but can't eat the real thing. I think it has something to do with escargot – made me gag, now there's no way they pass my lips, something to do with texture?
I'm new here, but I scrolled down and it looks like there is a regular Friday question. I like mushrooms in the garden when they pop up out of nowhere and look mysterious. Not hysterical about mushroom soup but it's OK. Cooked mushrooms? - depends on the variety. I also like to know what kind they are before eating them - to avoid accidents. Hope this answers your question.
Yes yes yes yes and yes ! My mum was a great cook and we ate everything. So we grew up with trying all kinds of foods. Mushrooms are always on my shopping list. I will try just about anything.
I went with my usual cream of mushroom soup but I never add any dairy - this was before not being able to eat dairy. Just the way I make my cream soups - without from back in my veghead days.
Great that your mom was such a good cook. That's wonderful. Thanks for playing.
No - I love 'em! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat answer.
DeleteYes, but I've never tried the psychedelic ones.
ReplyDeleteOnly you would say that. Funny, girl.
DeleteI do! Good morning, Wonder Woman :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend, Miss Martha. You know, I could go for some outside garden time, right about now.
DeleteDefinitely, especially Portobella
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a good one of those in ages.
DeleteYUM.
Love them! all kinds too. Morels, shiitake, crimini, button, oyster...the list goes on and on for me.
ReplyDeleteI would like to try morels and shiitake.
DeleteNope nope nope nope nope. Can't eat them. My mom was the same way. I think it's more of a texture thing than the taste, though.
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable.
DeleteDepends. Cooked in sauces-okay (I like cream of mushroom soup). All by themselves-nope.
ReplyDeleteHow about stuffed and baked?
DeleteYes, not love, but like.
ReplyDeleteVery neat new art supplies on your page, today.
DeleteI used to hate them but now we eat them all the time, raw and cooked.
ReplyDeleteFunny, that.
DeleteI do like mushrooms, although I despise canned mushrooms and mushroom soup of any description.
ReplyDeleteCanned, sure can be gross. I don't care for canned mushroom soup either. Homemade, made my way, I love.
DeleteBeen fun reading your Ask Me Anything, posts.

ReplyDeleteTexture seems to be an issue and it's understandable. Thanks for playing. Read your post, hope you're feeling less buried.
DeleteI'm still digging my way out! :)
DeleteYES!!! Any kind, doesn't matter. Raw or cooked. Yum, yum, yum!
ReplyDeleteDidn't particularly like them as a kid, but now I can't get enough of them.
Funny how taste buds change.
DeleteThanks for playing.

Hi Sheila - I took the idea of Friday Questions from my hubby Tim, who back in the day, ran regular Friday Questions.
DeleteGreat fun and thanks for playing.
Not at all. I never put them in anything and avoid eating. If I accidentally ingest one I gag.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing Susan & Happy Weekend.
DeleteI've always liked cooked mushrooms, but in the past six months I've also become a fan of raw ones. Now I eat them several times a week.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading a trend here of taste buds changing over time. Interesting and thanks for playing.
DeleteNo, not a fan of mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteTexture? Taste? Both?
DeleteLove them all and my parents usually foraged for them, I'm not that brave.
ReplyDeleteDo YOU like them?
I LOVE them. Yum.
DeleteForaging sounds fun. Very cool. Thanks for playing.
Yes yes yes yes and yes !

As part of a dish, on a pizza, or on a submarine, yes, but not in and of themselves.
ReplyDeleteI love them on subs and pizza.
DeleteThanks for playing.
Absolutely.....positively.....yum!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
