GET THIS F**CKER FINISHED

I just crawled out of the coffin and now I'm at my desk. I didn't brush my teeth or pee, which I think borders on TMI.

Today's goal: Apply a second coat of mud to the walls (Tim's new office). Let compound dry. Do a third coat on Friday. Prime next week. Paint. Install new floor.

Time to get this fucker finished.

In other news, I'm learning Twitter. Anyone on there? What do you like or dislike about it? I'm interested to hear your views.

1 Year Anniversary of The Great Declutter of 2016

Guess what? Today is one year since I started to declutter. Four weeks after today, I hit 80 percent of my stuff gone. Soon after that, another 15 percent escaped.

Best. Choice. Ever.

A big thanks to all who have commented, read, shared your stories, showed me before and after photos of your clutter, as well as shared your struggles with me on private email.

You. Guys. Rock.

In other news, here's a few Birch Polypores we found last Sunday. Also found purple dead nettle. Both can be made into tea.

Friday Question: LIVE (from my cutting board) Wild Edibles

It's been a week of plant-walking (because that's a thing), and a few minutes ago I dug these up. Behold, the prettiest cutting board our the trailer park. I just made myself giggle.

Let's get back to Friday Questions, shall we?

Friday Question: What wild edibles have you eaten, either now or as a kid? How did/do you eat them? What did you fancy? What did you not enjoy?

Or... anything you'd like to add/ask.

I had violets yesterday. Enjoyed the blossom but the leaves tasted of perfume. Phew. Not a fan. But the wild onions and garlic. Yeah, baby. That's the good stuff.

Foraging (I'm Hooked)

Last Friday, I ate my first dandelion flower. I didn't know the flowers were edible or sweet. Before this, I've only had store-bought dandelion tea but stopped buying it due to the inflated price tag.

They can suck it, I'll make my own.

Guess what else? In the woods behind our trailer I found wild garlic, wild onions and garlic mustard. All edibles. Today, I spent two hours in the woods and it felt like 20 minutes. I'm hooked.

PS: Here's Bug. Taken today.

SUCK ON THAT

Last Friday I hit a new grocery market and my immune system went nuts. I looked like a boiled lobster with braids. Thankfully, I recovered quick.

Up next, we had cupboard ants. I placed everything on folding tables and waited for the queen to die. I struggled to put the kitchen back together. I farted around, wasn't focused and then it hit me, I hate those upper cupboards.

Hate. Them.

So I put my kitchen back together without using the cabinets above the oven and hot dog, those suckers are next on my demo list. Suck on that.

PS: I made ice cream.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE !!!!

I don't have a wordy post. Don't get me wrong, I'll talk your ear off on what I've been up to but instead, I'll show you this picture of Wiggy. Taken with my phone.

I love this picture.

Goodbye Lemon Tart Room

Look what I've got my paws into now. Destroying the Lemon Tart Room (aka movie room). Lemme tell you how freeing it is to do what WE want with OUR place.

Seriously good stuff.

But why say goodbye to a room that we loved using? Because we're done with it.

I started yesterday and my focus is to turn this space into a kick-ass work room for Tim. His Spring Equinox gift from me.

Goodbye Lemon Tart Room. Hello Change.

PS: I can't get the song, Goobye Yellow Brick Road, out of my head. It's been in there for like a week now.

I Don't Give a Monkey's Bung-hole

I'm in the mood to kick some butt today. How about you? As I type, onions are cooking in the cast iron, soon to pop in mushrooms. Stuff it all in a homemade wrap, and call me a happy camper. After that, I'm gonna crank the music and prep for our 3-day weekend. Three earwigs and a tooth, if you know who I'm gonna listen to.

Who Says Dreams Don't Come True?

Once the second tub is GONE, the pantry shelf will fit great in that spot, along with holiday boxes and indoor tools. So why not put it all there right now and simply remove the tub when it gets warm?

And get this people. As of last night, everything we own has a proper home.

Who says dreams don't come true?

I've Dun-Dun-Dun Gone Nuts

Last week, because of the mice, I removed my baking toys from the cupboards under the sink and yesterday, I yanked my cleaning stuff from under the prep station.

But ... (and this is the BEST bit), because I did a killer job decluttering last year, I was able to find room for everything. This is heaven people.

As for the lower cupboards in the kitchen, those are on the demo list. Don't need them. Don't want them. They gotta go.

PS: Mini-vids below.

Less Stuff (more mice)

I'm long past done with decluttering. Now I'm enjoying our new space and figuring out where things go here and there. The kitchen/lab is the room I've moved about the most but as of yesterday, by George, I think I've got it. Not to even need those bottom cupboards, at all ...

Heaven, I tell you. Heaven.

PS: Here's the cartoon I posted earlier. Have a yummy weekend and boogie boogie.

I Look Like a Cheese Puff

For lunch I made flatbread/crackers. From that I got an idea for a dog treat. Next draft I'll adjust oven time and temp, but that should do it. Thanks to decluttering, drafts are faster and my brain works better. My body though, is dealing with allergy issues from last night. I look like a cheese puff.

BETTER THAN JEWELRY

For awhile now my large garbage bin for the kitchen has been too blippin' big. Problem solved. Behold, my new baby bin.

Better than jewelry.

23 December 2016

The Flippin' Kitchen

Even with 95 percent gone, the kitchen still has a lot of stuff. It's my office, lab and home kitchen. And if I'm REALLY honest, there are some baking toys that I haven't used since I decluttered 34 weeks ago.

Today I pull EVERYTHING out of the kitchen (again), and see what (if anything), I'm willing to let go of.

One word: aldfladkjfalkfjlsdkjfaldfjla!!!!

And to those who celebrate ...

Kitchen (challenge accepted)

I just cracked open my largest ferment and boy, it's gettin' tangy. My oh my. It tastes so good. Not sure I'll be able to wait.

In other news, part of my kitchen is solved. We're building a new pantry. I never drew plans or built one before but you know what? It doesn't even occur to me that I can't.

RAISE YOUR HAND IF ....

I was gonna head to Erie (30 minutes north), but with the morning rain, I decided to stay local. Now I'm about to remove all my cookery/bake stuff from under the sink so that the area can fully dry (from the leak).

Meanwhile, I've got Bryan Adams cranked and I'm wearing my Halloween shirt. You know why? Because I love Halloween and the only shirts I have left are the ones that I love to wear, year-round.

In other news, I'm making homemade peanut butter. Well, not me, the food processor is doing all the work, but I helped.
