It's another snow storm day here in the land of Spring. But you know what? It's Saturday afternoon, I'm still in my jams, just ate a yummy lunch and I don't have to be, anywhere.
Woohoo!
For the last two weeks I've been on a jog/walk 5k every other day, schedule (and I love it). It wasn't long ago when chronic pain made walking to the bathroom by myself difficult and at times, impossible. Imagine my excitement when during today's 5k, I will complete 2 miles of steady slow and low jogging.
That's progress, baby.
Great to hear, you go girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lurker. Loved your potato stand. I'd eat there.
DeleteGood for you!
ReplyDeleteHere it's sunny, but below the freezing mark, so no melting of the snow that's fallen here in the last little while.
Great pictures of ice on your page, wow. Was fun looking at all that. However, I am ready to be back in my garden.
DeleteAmazing that you are below the freezing mark.
YeaHaww !
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Thanks, Parsnip :-)
Deleteso happy for you! what's with the spring storms enough already!
ReplyDeleteI tell ya', I love the snow but yes, I'm with you. Enough. Spring allowed me a small taste of being in my garden and I want that back.
DeleteThat's pretty good, Ivy. (about your walking) (and not having to be anywhere, that's pretty good too).
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shelia. Lovely art as usual from your page. I tell you this all the time but I really mean it. You have such a talent. I could easily see your creations in books.
DeleteThat is good! Several of my family members are runners, so they train 6 days a week. I did a 5K the other day--got about halfway through jogging and then just ran out of energy. Had to walk part of the last half! Great that you do it every other day!
ReplyDeleteThe first mile for me is all walking, then I jog (no running at this point), then end with the calm happy to have done it, walk.
DeleteWhat made you go for a 5K?
That's wonderful Ivy. I am supposed to go for a stress test (put off because of the bugs) but I can't do the one on the treadmill so I have to do the nuclear one. Hateful, had it once before, worst think in my life I think, but my hip won't let me do the treadmill version.
ReplyDeleteIs that where they inject you with a shot and then watch the glow-in-the-dark stuff go through your body?
DeleteIt does sound hateful. How did your body feel afterward? Did you need recovery time?
I'm not sure about that Ivy. They inject a radioactive drug which speeds up your heart and then give you the antidote immediately. Even though it is the shortest of times, it feels like forever and you feel as though you are dying, well I did anyway. You then are radioactive for a while and if you are planning to fly have to have certificate. The injection takes place one day, they then see you the next day for more tests.
DeleteGlad to hear that. Walking is good and you feel better after. Sending you ::strength:: in being able to continue. Take care. I only ate one quesadilla. 😎
ReplyDeleteThanks! How was the quesadilla? Love the little face you added there.
DeleteWoohooo!! Go, baby, go!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS on your brain stuff. That's gotta be a relief. I don't know how it went your hubby but mine would have teased me, big time.
DeleteThat's amazing! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra. What a difference a year and a half makes.
DeleteWow, that's really impressive. Glad things are heading in the right direction. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim.
DeleteHow goes Little Alice?
She's doinggrand, and still operating at only two speed settings: sound asleep or totally manic :) She's got a new best friend as well - Gladys, the spaniel puppy of one of Rachel's bosses. They love to play chase round the office garden (or round the office!)
DeleteStill in puppy-mode, I remember those times with our pups. Funny stuff. Eat, poop, play, sleep.
DeleteIs the new best friend a visit thing or do you now have two pups? I love having two. When we get a house, I'd like two more. Though I go back and forth on that ...
Headed to Barnes now. Woohoo!
Ha ha! No one Alice is enough of a handful. She only gets to see Gladys when they are both visiting the office where Rachel works (Alice goes in with Rachel three or four days of the week, they all love her there and are very disappointed now when Rachel turns up alone!) or if she goes to visit Gladys!
DeleteHave fun at the bookstore!
HUGE progress. Well done you.
ReplyDeleteIt really does feel HUGE. And, dig this, during today's set, I naturally progressed to 6K with a 2.2 mile jog in the middle.
DeletePretty flippin' happy 'bout that.
Good to hear!
ReplyDeleteCold here..
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Burr, still cold here, too.
DeleteI miss Spring!
Good for you. I'm still in my jams too (and it's well past afternoon here).
ReplyDeletelololol, I stayed in mine long past afternoon, too. Then I showered and got into fresh jams.
DeleteHeaven, I say, heaven.
Really GREAT news...I love days when I can do just what I wanna do....:)
ReplyDeleteIt's the best!
DeleteCongratulations! Great work!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
Thanks, Yolanda.
DeleteSo happy for you, Wonder Woman! You go, girl :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Martha.
DeleteAwesome! That's great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris. Neat things you made for you game on your blog. I like the idea of saving money.
DeleteIvy that sounds great! So happy you are getting better and stronger. Way to go!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dawn. I loved all the yummy shots of food on your page. You have an eye for putting together great photos.
DeleteI couldn't manage a run to our front door!
ReplyDeleteMe either, for awhile :-)
DeleteThat's great, Ivy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex :-)
DeleteIvy - that is SO SO good to read. I always enjoy walking but never been too keen on running, which is strange because in my younger days I played a lot of team games which involved running, but I guess in short bursts.
ReplyDeleteYour snow has to go soon - surely?
We have a pleasant Spring day here so a walk later could be very nice on a Sunday afternoon.
Take Care
All the best Jan
The roads are clear and we are soon to hit Barnes but the back deck and yard are still covered in snow. Heat still on, too. Burrr.
DeleteLove that you had a great Spring day walk. Those are the best. Do you grill outside? We do. Fun stuff.
Yes grilling outside / BBQ's can be great fun. Staying inside for eats at the moment though ...
DeleteJan
That is awesome, Ivy! We had snow the other night, too (yuck!) but it was gone by morning.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the yuck. Normally, I love winter and snow but once the work week starts again, I'm gonna want back in my garden. Right now, it's still covered in snow.
DeleteWhat the flip?
Yay!!! Good for you. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Birdie. How goes the clean eating? Are you finding new fun things to eat?
DeleteWonderful for you Ivy !!
ReplyDeleteSend you hugs and love <3 <3
Thanks for the hugs and love. Right back at you!
DeleteWow that sure is progress, baby!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by :-)
DeleteYesss! Good for you--such great progress! Glad to hear it. :) Can't beat sitting around in your jams either for a change. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteJam days are fun, for sure.
DeleteFantastic progress! I'm up to walking 5 km every second day (when I can get out!) awesome feeling. Awesome news!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 5K every second day. I agree, awesome feeling.
