Yesterday I shot my first food video, all by myself. Then when I was done, do you know what I did? If you guessed shot another one, then you get an A on your paper and a star on your forehead. Maybe even a slice of apple pie.
I'm a long way from publishing videos, but I'm closer than I was and I'm pretty rootin' tootin' happy about that. Before I was scared to record my voice, now I don't care. The fun outweighs the fear.
As for doing videos that include my face, I am not ready. But I'll get there no doubt. Fear or not, I'm moving forward.
One step at a time, right? At least you're enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't do it if it weren't fun.
DeleteI guess I don't get an A. I would have guessed that you deleted it! Glad you're having fun with it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm having a blast.
DeleteI'll take the pie!
ReplyDeleteCooking with Godzilla? Hey, what channel is that on?
Channel 4.
DeleteYou....Spooky Whisk....are H I L A R I O U S !
DeleteIt's the best because it's 4 :-)
DeleteI also thought that you deleted it :)
ReplyDeleteNoppers. So much fun I did another one. Three total but the one I didn't have the camera on. Thought I did. But not so much.
Deletewe have a cooking show here in which you only see the hands of the cook... in his case it's rather disgusting since he has, as I'd call them, butcher hands :) and it's not appetizing watching them work....
DeleteYou could wear one of those goofy masks (you know, like the horse's head one) and have a different one for each video. Keep 'em guessing!
ReplyDeleteI am silly but even I'm not THAT silly.
DeleteWoo hoo! Go Ivy!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam.
DeleteWas a hoot of fun.
It sounds like you're enjoying yourself. Mentioning your voice reminds me that I don't like the sound of my own voice.
ReplyDeleteReally is fun. But still much to scary to put my mug in front of the camera. Right now it's just hands and voice.
DeleteWonder how many people don't like their voices?
OMG that Ina Garten pic is hilarious. Please make sure you drop Tim's name in your videos the way she does Jeffrey's.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great comic. Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. I forgot, she does mention Jeffrey's name.
DeleteHahaha! Love the cartoons! They are great.
ReplyDeleteAnd OHMYGOSH...good stuff! I'm so happy to hear that you're shooting videos. Way to go, girl. I can't wait until you start sharing them. And I certainly hope you eventually show yourself. Maybe a little at a time. Maybe send the video to a friend or two and see how you feel about it. Slowly expand. But I know you'll get there, Wonder Woman! So happy for you.
I wished I had guessed right that you shot a second video because I would love an A on my paper, a star on my forehead and a slice of apple pie. Especially a slice of apple pie. Correction: a slice of YOUR apple pie :)
You made me laugh with the loving the crapper on your blog today. That was great. You for sure get an A on your paper and star on your forehead. Though sadly, we ate all the apple pie.
DeleteThat's okay, I'll just make another.
hahahaha I thought you deleted it !
ReplyDeleteLove the two cartoons. I am a huge Godzilla fan, to my Japanese family I am mumajilla or in America mumzilla.
And that is so Ina.... I love her cooking shows.
cheers, parsnip
Glad you liked the comic. It made me laugh out loud.
DeleteYour family is good to you for sending you all those treats.
I hope you will let us see! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is the plan, but first I gotta get brave enough to step in front of the camera. So far, just voice.
Deletethat is one ugly Godzilla
ReplyDelete:-)
Delete@ Whisk:
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo awesome! I hope you're getting Tim to help you. As someone who used to do a little public access TV, talking to a camera is kind of like talking to a toaster...it's nice to have someone back there with whom to actually interact (even if it's just "pretend").
: )
He wasn't home when I did it but yes, he's a big supporter and huge help. He's been trying to get me to do this for awhile but I've been too chicken shit.
DeleteWhat kind of public access TV did you do and did you enjoy it?
Thanks for dropping by today.
@ Whisk:
DeleteAlways happy to see creative people finding new ways to express themselves creatively.
: )
I used to do a live, 30 minute show called "Story Time." I'd read books on camera (for people too lazy to read their own books) while drinking wine. I had some puppets (made myself) and a dude off camera playing light, acoustic guitar music. I found the "dude" to be immensely helpful (to have some human reaction...the camera gives you none).
Yes, I enjoyed it. But it was a little nerve-wracking to realize people were watching (people at my office starting telling me they'd seen my show...I didn't think anyone actually watched PA. I know *I* didn't!). Eventually, my car broke down and I couldn't make it to the studio anymore. Since getting a new car, I've been a little busy with all my other hobbies (wife, kids, blogging, etc.) to revisit the concept. Plus my regular guitar player moved to Oregon.
; )
Im sure will be amazing Ivy!
ReplyDeleteYou rock:)
Love the cartoons!!
Thanks bunches :-)
DeleteExcellent!
