Right now I'm editing Tim's Starter Adventure, eating the last of the crappy chocolate, and drinking from my favorite spider cup, all while Hungarian Paprika Chicken cools, and the last of the laundry tumbles dry. Add to it that BOTH bathrooms are cleaned, and you've got yourself one Happy Whisk.
Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhen's dinner? It sounds good.
Dinner is anytime you get here. Kind of like my grandmother's kitchen. Always open.
DeleteYou get that editing done, I need another hit! LOL
ReplyDeleteIan
Hey Ian - Glad to hear you got your surprise. Thanks to Lurker and your wife, who were both great help.
DeleteFantastic! Also I love your superhero header. So festive and fun! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen - I almost forgot to change that banner. It's my favorite Christmas one.
DeleteIt's nice when you get stuff done, huh? I got my shopping done today. Yay!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Stacy, it is sooo different now that I am not working at the restaurant. The other day, I cleaned the inside of the toaster. Life is good.
DeletePS: Much congrats on getting all your shopping done. Woohoo.
DeletePaprika Chicken, I could really go for some of that right now!!!!
ReplyDeleteTeleporting you some, now.
DeleteLaundry is never ending at Casa Gourley. Have a third load in for the day.
ReplyDeleteAin't it great? Love it.
DeleteLove the spider glass - although I HATE spiders...except in the garden
ReplyDeleteGot that at Barnes, 50% off.
DeleteI see the Christmas banner is back... and it's still creepy as all get out to see Batman smile.
ReplyDeleteBatman gets a lot of flack for wearing that beard. Poor guy. Can't catch a break.
DeleteClean bathrooms...I'm asking Santa for that for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt's the simple things, I swear.
DeleteBatman does NOT look good in a Santa beard!
ReplyDeleteit's to hide his secret identity. Bruce Wayne does not have a white beard. It's the perfect plan
DeleteDebra: Poor Batman. Getting all kinds of flack again this year.
DeleteAdam: lolololol.
Sounds like a great day. And that chicken sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt was, I ate two pieces after they cooled.
DeleteOooh, one of my fave dishes, called TARANA is made with paprika, I think you would love it! It's eaten both in my Vojvodina and up in Hungary.
ReplyDeleteYou dice one big onion and a carrot and fry them on a bit of oil or butter, when they turn golden add two teaspoons of paprika (if you have smoked one use it) and pour in two cups of hot water. When that starts to boil, season it with salt and pepper and your fave spices and add one cup of macaroni or any other of your fave pasta (tarana are actually little pasta pellets so if you have that use it). Cook it for about 20 minutes at low heat stirring occasionally. When the pasta soaks in all of the liquid the dish is done. Let it cool of for about 30 minutes and then serve. I like to eat it next day from the fridge :)
Yes, eating from the fridge. That's the best.
DeleteI grew up with a Hungarian grandma, straight off the boat. We make tarhonya, which sounds similar. Only with chicken stock, lard and water as needed. Then served with Hungarian Paprika string beans.
I toast my Hungarian paprika. So yummy.
and I bet granny made her own tarhonya from the scratch... My granny used to make her own noodles for soup.
DeleteYeppers, that's they way to do it. Making homemade tészta, right now in fact. goes great in homemade leves, which I had this morning.
DeleteNothing to me, like good Hungarian cookin'.
That sounds like a perfect moment in time to me!
ReplyDeleteIt really felt like it, so I snapped a shot.
DeleteGot here from the overtaken Manor, and was astonished seeing all those Hungarian words midst an English text. Anyhow, kellemes ünnepeket mindkettőtöknek!
ReplyDeleteI often use the words for food that I was taught by my grandmother. Along with her methods.
DeleteKöszönöm, hogy benézett. Van egy jó éjszakát.
