Happy Whisk

Right now I'm editing Tim's Starter Adventure, eating the last of the crappy chocolate, and drinking from my favorite spider cup, all while Hungarian Paprika Chicken cools, and the last of the laundry tumbles dry.  Add to it that BOTH bathrooms are cleaned, and you've got yourself one Happy Whisk.

  12. Oooh, one of my fave dishes, called TARANA is made with paprika, I think you would love it! It's eaten both in my Vojvodina and up in Hungary.
    You dice one big onion and a carrot and fry them on a bit of oil or butter, when they turn golden add two teaspoons of paprika (if you have smoked one use it) and pour in two cups of hot water. When that starts to boil, season it with salt and pepper and your fave spices and add one cup of macaroni or any other of your fave pasta (tarana are actually little pasta pellets so if you have that use it). Cook it for about 20 minutes at low heat stirring occasionally. When the pasta soaks in all of the liquid the dish is done. Let it cool of for about 30 minutes and then serve. I like to eat it next day from the fridge :)

    1. Yes, eating from the fridge. That's the best.

      I grew up with a Hungarian grandma, straight off the boat. We make tarhonya, which sounds similar. Only with chicken stock, lard and water as needed. Then served with Hungarian Paprika string beans.

      I toast my Hungarian paprika. So yummy.

    3. Yeppers, that's they way to do it. Making homemade tészta, right now in fact. goes great in homemade leves, which I had this morning.

      Nothing to me, like good Hungarian cookin'.
