For Valentine's Day Tim gave me his cooties. That was NOT fun. On the bright side, he's been back to work and for me, it's my second day fully dressed.
Feels good.
In other news, I'm about to dive into a MASS DECLUTTER. Which means I touch everything that I own and for me, that means by category. I never declutter by room and I never take it slow once I jump in. And, since I've done this kind of job before (about ten years ago when I said goodbye to 95 percent of my stuff), I know what to expect this go. Should be quick and easy.
Famous last words?
Let's find out.
In the meanwhile, happy to be dressed, happy it's the weekend! Bring it on!
I'm impressed! I declutter by room, one drawer or cabinet at a time. So good luck to you! It sure feels good though, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Mari! Back during the Great Declutter of 2016 - it felt very, very good. LOVED it. Glad to read you enjoy it too.
DeleteGood luck with the declutter! Let us know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteWill do!
DeleteGood luck. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
DeleteGlad you're doing better. I'm a winnow as you go type, but I'll be interested to see how you do it.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Dressed a bunch of days in a row now. Some of it still holding on.
DeleteI am sooo happy you feel better enough to do the toss out job.. this sounds like a great plan and I might try it sometime. I usually do a room at a time,
ReplyDeletemy house is already minimum, I get rid of it if I don't use it for a year.
Great to see you. Haven't been out to the blogs yet. Hope your weekend went well and that the pup got some good time outside.
DeleteI'm battling those same cooties....but I think I'm on the downhill slope.
ReplyDeleteHere's to getting all the way better. Be gone, cooties. Be gone!
DeleteGlad you are up and dressed. I clean by drawer or closet. I need to do it in bits.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Hey Cathy. That's understandable. Better I think to do some than none. Though by category is also in a way, by bits. Example, I did all my sewing stuff and that was one session and done.
DeleteI declutter room by room ...
ReplyDeleteHappy decluttering :)
All the best Jan
Hi Jan. That sounds like it's a popular way. Cheers!
DeleteGlad you are feeling better. Good luck with your decluttering.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I haven't been on the blogs yet. Hope your weekend was fun and that you kept warm.
DeleteGood luck and have fun! I declutter not just by the room, but by "topic".
ReplyDeleteHi Erika. Is topic for the same as category? Decluttering is so fun. Haven't done a MASS one like this in almost a decade. Feels good.
DeleteHave a nice weekend Ivy!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hope yours was fun and that you got to make yummy foods.
DeleteI hope you are feeling all better, my friend!
ReplyDeleteMuch thanks. Was dressed today by seven and it's been awhile since that happened. Feels good to be among the living.
DeleteA mass declutter here would take me six months at least! Mostly because I have so much I'm not ready to let go of just yet.
ReplyDeleteSix months is a great amount of time to get a lot done. I understand not being ready for it. One day maybe you will and you'll power through. Even if it takes half a year. Nothing wrong with that.
DeleteYou're a pro at decluttering, go for it!
ReplyDeleteBeen almost a decade since I've been in this head space. I like it! LOOOOOVED your art Debra. I mean, really, really nice.
DeleteI'm glad you're starting to feel better. Since we have over 50 years of stuff, it takes forever for me to straighten up.
ReplyDeleteMuch thanks. Understandable. When I went through the Great Declutter of 2016 - I had a loooooooooot of stuff. But that's just it, it was stuff. Happy it's gone. Happy to be back doing another MASS declutter again. Cheers!
Deletedid you get access to your email yet?
ReplyDeleteHey! No blogger email yet. But when it comes back on, I likely will still leave blogger comment on no-reply because where I blog the most is not where email is and it's just a pain to get there. Private email works but even that, I haven't checked in forrreeeeever. I just don't use email that often.
DeleteSorry you got sick as well. If I ever got rid of that much stuff it would still be enough to fill an average-sized house.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I get that. Just because I got rid of 95 percent of my stuff in 2016, didn't also mean I didn't have anything. If that makes sense.
DeleteThankful you are feeling somewhat better...this has been a rough year for sickness and it seems that it drains the energy out of people. Best of luck with your decluttering. I did this a few months ago and oh what a good feeling it gave me...Happy March...
ReplyDeleteI heard so many got sick. Dressed again today. Nose still holding on but energy good and getting stuff done. Happy March. Where did February go? I blinked and it was gone. Whoosh.
DeleteThat is not fun being sick. I did the declutter starting the first of the year and it feels so good. Still have the basement to do which is the biggest tackle of it all.
ReplyDeleteNice job! What's in the basement?
DeleteI've been doing declutter for a couple of decades. Either I'm not very good at it of I have a massive amount of stuff! Good luck to you.
ReplyDeletelolololololol. You're funny!
Deletedecluttering and organizing is my jam!! good luck, i know if feels good to have a good day!!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to get stuck in. For sure. And after, oooooh boy. LOVE it. Thanks, Debbie. I did a MASS DECLUTTER back in 2016 and now back at it. Much quicker this time, since I'd already done it before. Cheers to you!
DeleteNo fun being sick. I'm glad you're feeling better. Good luck with the declutter.
ReplyDeleteHey Lori. I haven't been out to read blogs yet. Hope you had a yummy weekend. About to put a banana bake in the oven. Oven preheating now. So fun. Happy cooking to you and baking.
DeleteI sure am glad that you are feeling better. In this house I seem to be decluttering all the time. For a couple of years it was remove 1000 items from the house, then it was remove 500 for a couple of years. I left it for a bit and now am back at it, trying for another 500 items. Good luck on your Mass Declutter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Hi Jackie! 1000 items per week? Per year? How does your method go? Very cool that you're going for it again. 500 is that for the year or month?
DeleteAround here, it was hard to keep from coming in contact with the cooties. However, I managed it, except for a tummy bugs. So much has been going around at the same time and if one did not get you, the other prob would.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about the tummy bugs. Been there. Not fun. Here's to spring and being all good again.
DeleteGlad you two are feeling better!
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
Much thanks, Donna. Big huggs back.
DeleteGood to know you're both feeling better and over the worst of it. Best of health for the rest of the year. I'm going to have to do some deep diving too. I have until mid April before we get visitors. A good goal to get everything done and keeping fingers crossed here as I am not motivated at all right now. Onward and upward for all of us :)
ReplyDeleteThat's almost a whole month. I get that about not wanting to jump in, in can be a big job at times. What's holding you back the most? What feels like the biggest hurdle?
DeleteI have to throw out clothes I haven't worn that I don't really want to do. They are in smaller sizes and I keep saying I'll get back into them one day, lol! I think those days are long gone. So, I need to do a deep dive plunge into my clothes closet and just start chucking them out.
DeleteClothes is a really good one. Do you toss everything on the bed and just pull what you wear? Or do you just pull what you don't? If you're into crafts old clothes can be sewn into grocery bags, blankets or anything else. Fun to play that said, it's also so great to just let those go. What's stopping you from jumping in?
DeleteHope you are feeling better now, Ivy. How is the declutter going? I still have some spaces to work on but the rooms I have finished I am happy with now. I actually know where everything is (mostly)! I'm working on the same process in the garden as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy March days to you x
Thank you, we are. The category of fabric and sewing just got dropped off yesterday to the donation place. Not a lot. Just a bag but since I already did the bulk of my decluttering almost a decade ago, there really wasn't a lot of sewing stuff to go through, now, compared to then. Then I had an entire room of fabric. This time, just a bit.
DeleteSo glad to read that you're happy with what you did. That's the best feeling. Garden time ... how wonderful. I can't wait to grow some herbs this year. Thanks for stopping in xoxo
I love your new purple heading. Too bad about catching what your husband passed on to you. That sounds like a MAJOR de clutter job and one I would not tackle. I need to do small areas at a time or I end up just throwing it all back in a closet because I get overwhelmed. Good luck and feel better.
ReplyDeleteThat's what's great (IMO), about by category. It's really not overwhelming because it's just one category. Say, all the fabric, which is where I started this round. But yes, if you're tossing it in a closet or a box (which I totally get), then that's not a fun way to declutter. Also, this is a MASS declutter for me, but since I did this already about a decade ago, it's not nearly as big a job. I just do a category and then that's done and dusted. Thank you about the banner. Yes, all better now. Though parts of it does like to hang on. Overall though, all done with that.
