Soooo it's Friday morning before work and guess who has three days, count'em three days off in a row?
In other news, this weekend the project is ... drum roll please ... break down the kitchen and go through every bake dish, spoon, plate, cup, mug, Mason jar and also, dry good ingredients as well as fridge and freezer.
I haven't done a mass declutter like this since 2016 although, I did do something similar a couple of years ago when I gave away most of my aluminum baking things. Though that was just of that particular category.
Because when I declutter it's always by category, not by room so any bakeware or cookie cutters hiding the in bedroom closet, those need to come out and boom, everything in one category swept through in three days.
That my folks, is happiness. With that, I wish you a wonderful weekend and leave you with today's cartoon.
Huggs & Bugs, Me.
Three day weekends are THE BEST!
ReplyDeleteSooo true. On lunch break now. Almost time to party. Wishing you and Tony a great weekend.
DeleteHave a great weekend, Ivy!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ray! You too!
DeleteIt feels so good to organize and de-clutter. Good luck and enjoy your 3 days off!
ReplyDeleteHey Judee! Yes indeed. I'm excited. On lunch break now, almost time to party. Have a gummy weekend!
DeleteHappy weekend! Your idea of a fun weekend is very much like mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks Boud! Been looking forward to this. Tried to work on it before, just wasn't good when also working full-time. Three days off though? Yes please. Glad to hear you like a good clean-out as well.
DeleteEnjoy your 3 days of joyful decluttering!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra! Thank you. On lunch break now. Almost time to party. How goes your day?
DeleteI used to adore 3 day weekends before retirement. Now I just stay home and stay out of the way.
ReplyDeleteI always do a kitchen/pantry/cupboard clean in Sept before the season of baking. Replenishing ingredients and such.
Enjoy your glorious 3 day weekend!
That's very cool Debby. Right now we're going the opposite direction in that we're using up all pantry, freezer and fridge ingredients. Wishing you a fun baking time.
DeleteEnjoy your long weekend! Have fun with the sort 'n cull.
ReplyDeleteSort 'n Cull is an excellent blogpost title. Thanks!
DeleteIt's nice to declutter once in awhile, and give away things that we no longer want or need. I still have the vintage cookie cutters from long ago. I can't seem to part with them.
ReplyDeleteHave a good three day weekend.
~Sheri
Hi Sheri! I love me some cookie cutters. Most get hung on my baker's pegboard. Even if hardly used, I keep them there because cookie cutters make me happy. Do you ever hunt the vintage places? So fun.
DeleteOooh, I love a good declutter. Have a great long weekend!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Abby. And in 2016 I decluttered every single category I owned. Delightful. Hope you and your hubby have some great walks this weekend.
Deleteoh my Happy Ivy, I am impressed with this category thing. I am grinning, because I could take out every baking and pots in the kitchen , go through and be done in 30 minutes. you would not be able to use my kitchen. I have 5 pots 4 fry pans 1 griddle and a stack of cookie sheets 4 sizes.
ReplyDeleteHaving less is good! I could cook with less because a good baker and cook knows how to make the most of both the ingredients and tools. Yes, by category for me is the only way I fly. Helps in many ways including to keep me focused and I know everything right there what's what.
DeleteI just decluttered my hallway closet yesterday. Happy 3 day weekend.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Congrats on the comments for your blog and happy weekend.
DeleteI hope you have a wonderful, productive three day weekend! We've slowly started doing some decluttering around the house and it feels so good to get rid of things no longer needed and get organized. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia! very cool on getting started. It does feel good. Refreshing too! I remember in 20I6 when I dropped off my first car load of things. Walking back to the car, my shoulders felt lighter. Heaven I say, Heaven.
DeleteI did a declutter with my cake icing nozzles and cutters for the flowers etc. Worst thing I did. Now I need to de clutter rubber stamps but am scared I might regret it. Good luck vibes to you.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
Hey Neet. I have an idea that might help you with the rubber stamps. Just an idea.... Clear off a space such as a kitchen table. Place every stamp on that surface. Or even on the bed or the floor. Wherever is most comfortable. Now the fun bit. Look at the pile and grab every stamp that you truly love. The rest, don't get rid of yet. Store those in a box and away. Just for a little while.
DeleteNormally, I wouldn't suggest the box and away however, because you struggled with the nozzels we wanna remove those gun-shy feelings. This may help.
Now for the even MORE fun part. Play with the stamps you love. Really have a good few sessions of play with the newly decluttered stack of stamps. See how that feels. You may never need to return to the stored box. Or, you may in a few months miss one of them.
This method might help you move forward with the fear of regret. Might work. Might not. Worth a go. Happy Decluttering.
Awesome. Three day weekends are the best. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteThanks! Happy drawing to you. I enjoy seeing your art.
DeleteHave a wonderful three day weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy decluttering :)
All the best Jan
Hi Jan. Much thanks.
DeleteEnjoy your weekend - and your decluttering. Needed here, but won't happen (or not this weekend anyway).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sue.
DeleteMust be something in the air I did that this week just the whole kitchen and 2 boxes to the thrift store.
ReplyDeletecathy
Hi Cathy. Just came from your blog. Great job there! Must be in the air. What kind of ice cream maker? We have the Ninja Creami, works well. But I get it though. When it's time to go, it's time to go. Happy Decluttering.
DeleteEnjoy your weekend
ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteGood luck with the decluttering and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Happy Weekend.
DeleteGood luck decluttering. I need to do more of that too. I've been putting it off too long.
ReplyDeleteThanks, River. Did you need to do a massive declutter or something smaller?
DeleteMy projects abound...today I must mop the bathroom ceiling to get the mold.
ReplyDeleteQuick on the ceiling. Will you seal it after? I did that with a corner of the floor. Worked great.
DeleteBravo on the mass declutter. I need to do that in my kitchen and the ever popular junk drawer. They call them that for a reason!
ReplyDeleteI remember junk drawers as a kid. If someone needed to find an odd bit, another family member said, "look in the junk drawer."
DeleteIt sounds like you have fun with decluttering. We moved last year and you woukd not believe how much we got rid of.
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you did that. I believe it! In 2016 I ditched 95 percent of my own things. So I believe you also ditched a great deal as well. Love that!
DeleteI am not good at decluttering! Stay happy, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHuggs back!
DeleteI love a good purge!! I hope you have a fabulous three day weekend. I'm enjoying mine too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying your long weekend. I'd love more of these for sure.
DeleteWhen I clean, declutter, get rid of things it makes me happy. I have no idea how within a few weeks, I need to do it all over again.. Happy Extra day off.
ReplyDeleteIt's rare that I get three days off in a row. Just worked out that I wasn't on-shift for Saturday. I agree, makes me happy to get rid of stuff as well.
DeleteHave a great 3-day weekend Ivy! Well deserved for sure! Good luck on the decluttering. I have some of that to do myself around here.
ReplyDeletethanks. How was your weekend? What are you looking to declutter?
DeleteHope the declutter is going well. Doing the same thing here :-)
ReplyDeleteThings took a turn for the good, went a different way. Worked even better than planned. Still more to go. How goes your declutter?
DeleteStill decluttering here. Just a bit at a time but I'm happy with everything that has gone so far.
DeleteVery, very cool. Yeah, I remember back in 2016 when I got rid of lots and lots. I felt happy about it as well. Excellent feeling.
DeleteI am doing the same. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. Enjoy. I find this a fun process. How goes yours?
DeleteSlow because the four legged helper has to investigate everything I'm doing...LOL
Deletelol. That makes sense.
DeleteI' try to declutter everyday, something...and I have too much baking clutter...ugggg
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
Will you sell the extra stuff, donate, give away or toss them?
DeleteWow, happy decluttering!!!
ReplyDeleteSue
Thanks!
