Freedom !!!!

Only 2 days left to our 10-day staycation and boy, it went whoosh. But it ain't over yet. Today, we're gonna hang home and do fun things. We were hoping for a nice big rain storm but looks like another sunny day. That's okay too!

I'm about to make pancakes, free from dairy and eggs (of course) and then I sew. Last Friday for Tim's birthday I made him a new blanket. I love sewing again. Even better, I'm FREE from all of the just-in-case fabric, that I'd been saving.

Freedom!

PS: What is/was for breakfast ????

    1. The combination of bicarb and raw apple cider vinegar replaces the egg and makes lots of gas bubbles.

If I'm not using an acid like apple cider or lemon juice, then I do the warm liquid and homemade baking powder combo.

And then sometimes, I do a combo of an acid, bicarb, homemade baking powder and warm liquid.

I should probably do a post about it sometime. Thanks for the idea. If you have any more questions just ask here or drop me an email. I'm on the side bar.

As for the cow milk, I never used/liked/baked with. I HATE THE STUFF BEYOND WORDS. So ... I'll either use nut milk or just plain water. Or, date water. Or, maple water. Or, honey water. Or ... you get the idea. Plenty of options.

      Thanks for asking :-)

  6. My breakfast -- a staple around here -- was grits and eggs. That's Bob's Red Mill corn grits with a wee bit of cheese melted in, plus eggs -- fried or poached.

  7. We went out for breakfast, a fruit scone and a yummy banana loaf with good coffee, then got all our secateurs and other cutting things sharpened at the same place. Then bought some plants and pots. That was breakfast.
That's a very fine blanket, looks cosy with the pretty ghosts. Nice one on getting your stash reduced to much smaller, a very difficult thing to do.

    1. I love that you got your cutting things sharpened at the same place you ate yummy scones.

On the whole, from everyone that's emailed me, fabric and books are in the top two things, most difficult to part with.

    2. We can always reread the books and make so many things with the fabric, so it seems a pity to throw them out just for the sake of it.

I know I have mentioned it before but I always smile at that picture of Bug. His head looks enormous compared to his body. He is so adorable!

    1. Today (Sunday now), we finally got rain late last night and I'm about to have a cuppa myself. Dandelion root, tea.

How is the autumn going there? Any good harvest goodies to eat?

  12. I had Cheerios with raspberries and half a banana (grudgingly consumed as I am not a huge banana fan) and a "Blueberry Acai" yogurt that was surprisingly flavorful and wonderfully purple. :) We participated in a walk/mental health awareness event and then I had a couple of bites of chocolate croissant with my favorite iced Americano to boot! So quite a brekkie this Saturday :o) Like the jolly skeletons BTW!

Cool beans about Instagram. I'm making my way over there soon. I don't find blogger takes too much time, but I want to branch out and play.

What's your Instagram address? Would love to see your stuff.

  22. Cool blanket! Well, that's a bit of a contradiction, isn't it, when blankets need to be warm. Anyway, enjoy the hell out of your last couple of days of staycation! For brekkie this morning, I had oatmeal and brown sugar, and My Rare One had a cheese and green onion omelette with toast. All made by YOURS TRULY (takes bow).

  23. Such a wicked blanket! Love it. Hey, Wonder Woman...just popping in to say hi. So glad you and your honey bunny have had a great time together. On the day you posted this I had exactly the same breakfast as Debra: oatmeal with a little bit of brown sugar. Simple, tasty, very filling. And off I go again...whoosh...it's just about popcorn and TV time, and I'm the popcorn maker tonight!

    1. I agree with you on the oats being filling. They're in my current batch of pancakes. Great for mornings when we were off and running out and about.
