Ya' Gotzta Go!

Hello Boogerbutts!

It's the weekend and I am very, very excited to say that we got both air conditioners in yesterday and by next week we should have our old car back. The engine blew up.

Twice.

Once when Tim drove me to work (I recently quit more on that another day), and the second time at the mechanics. No one hurt, thankfully, that's the most important. As for our down payment for the house, well ... more on that later, long story short, we have to build.

And we will.

As for today, I'm grooving to the tunes, drinking blueberry tea (oh my yum), and getting crap done. Happy weekend to all and to all a good time.

  1. Even with some not-so-good-news you manage to make this joyful. It takes longer but there are benefits to building. Even building a new engine! Happy Summer Clothes to you.

    1. Hey Sandra! I tell you, it stings and I cried for sure. Today though, it's back on my feet and let's rebuild that account. Last night we added everything we had to pay out, once the new car bill comes I'll share that total here. The mechanics are finishing it up this week. It's heartbreaking and at the same time, I'm using it as fuel. Onward!!! We will get our house/land. Like you said, it's just gonna take a bit longer. I agree with you, there are benefits to rebuilding the account. I see our house and our little garden. That said, when I write the actual check for the car, I'm likely to cry all over again. And that's okay too. Fuel, baby. Fuel.

    1. Hey Sue! I tell you I have piles everywhere. I took pictures for an upcoming post of my mess to not a mess. In terms of moving and getting out of here, yes, my head is tidy and focused. Thanks for stopping in today! Happy Saturday to you.

    1. Yeah, me too River. We were on my way to my job when the engine blew and our friend Chuck came to have us sit in his warm car until the tow came. Super thankful. The second time it was at the mechanics and they were near by their garage and also safe. Very, very thankful no one was hurt. Most important to me.

    1. That's okay, the commute was a lot on the car and my patience, plus the location that was to open locally (which is why I had to commute to train), just kept taking longer and longer with less and less hours. When the car blew up, it made the choice for me that I had wanted to make: quit and find a new gig.

Love the pits! I'll take 'em and use them as fuel.

    1. Thanks, Christine. It's a good day. I cried already. I'll cry again about the money gone, right about the same time I write the check. Today though, I'm good! Happy Weekend. Making anything fun to eat?

Yes, you have such an upbeat attitude about everything. It's refreshing.

    1. Hey Alex! I cried big time when this happened at first, having the take the money away from our fund. It's heart-breaking to be 74.5 % to our first money goal and then have it all go away. However, it's not the end of the world. It's just gonna take a bit longer now. Happy Weekend!

  12. Nuisance is following you. I have been there myself. Ran my truck off the road while changing the audio book on my phone. Small damage but costly damage still. I think I am glad you quit your job because that is usually a good thing to do...maybe not when Nuisance is following but he will pass soon.

    1. Hey Granny Annie! Glad you are okay, sorry about the damage. For me, these things are used as fuel to make a situation better. Car blowing up, sucked at the time however now we'll have two cars and that will move us farther ahead then one. It's all in a matter of how we react and recover that matters (to me).

You are not having the best of times at the moment, but keep at it, and I'm sure things will come together successfully in the end.

Sending lots of good wishes to you.
    Enjoy your Spring.

    1. Hey Jan! I am having a good time to be honest. We got a new car and we'll still get the house. It's just gonna take a wee bit longer and that's okay. Life happens, it's how we problem solve think the way through that matters (to me).

  14. You're much more productive than I am because I need to put my winter things away, and I have yet to do that. It rained yesterday and all I thought about was it was a good day to do it. But since it was dark and dreary, reading a book sounded so much better-smile. How's Bug enjoying the spring? have a wonderful Tuesday and week ahead. hugs-Erika

    1. Hey Erika! I had to stop though the rest will be gone soon. Cold here again. Snow yesterday and the heat back on as I type. Reading a book on a rainy day sounds PERFECT! Did you make any hot drinks to go with? Bug and Wiggy love being outside in the spring mud. Two hole-diggers. Do you have pets?

  15. Oh no.....there is always something that is going on in our lives! So sorry to hear about the old car but yay on the air conditioners being in. Last yr was a rough one on my air. We had terrible temps hitting above 100 and my air was just not wanting to play along. Had work done on it and was informed to replace it would be 10 THOUSAND bucks because all the pipes and wires and such would have to be replaced also. CRAP....so I decided at that rate, it was not happening, if I had to I would install window units before I paid that. That was also during the supply issues and I know cost was up so much But again, I will do window before doing a revamp on my unit. Best wishes to your.

    1. Hey Pam! Wow, over 100 !!! I get that about the windows. That's what we have here and we love these. They are LG Duel Inverters and oh my gosh, do they work well. Yeah, 10K is a lot. We blew through that plus more with these recent spendings. On one hand it's heartbreaking and on the other it's exciting and opens up new worlds. Thanks for stopping by today, Pam. Hope you're having a groovy day.

    1. My bad. We didn't build our engine back up. It's a Kia and a nightmare to do. What we'll rebuild is our account. I left the job in hunt for a better one with stable hours and not a long commute. The commute to the old job was never meant to be long, however delays on their side made it last to infinity and beyond.

Just waiting on the pressure cooked dog food to cool a bit more and then headed out for spring/summer jogging clothes. Jobs are everywhere these days. Should be able to find one that works for us. Happy Cooking to you!

Boo to blown engines. Building will be exciting, but more money again... We just got told we need to put in a new drain field. That's $8000 and a torn up back yard. :(

  23. It's still windy and cold here in the north of England so winter clothes are very much still a part of my wardrobe.

    1. We have a mix here. I tell you Neet. I don't see it as bad luck. These things just are and it's how we choose to use the situation as fuel that makes the difference. Back when we lost power over Christmas holiday, that wasn't bad or good either. It just was. So we used it as fuel to start the Let's Buy a House Account. It's all how we use the fuel to move the needle. I feel.
