Is that a long blog title or what? I'm making up for lost words.
In other news, over our 11-day Christmas Staycation I got taller legs for my bench and now my dough station is in constant use. I'm a noodle-making mad scientist with dried noodles everywhere, just like I learned from my Mamam (pronounced, Mum Mum).
Here's a photo of some of my noodles. I never use eggs in my dough. I use things like parsley, yams, potatoes, sprouted spelt, beets, 00 flour, semolina, bean flours, lentil flour, sorghum, millet, quinoa and more.
Crazy fun.
For those interested, Pasta Grannies on YouTube is an excellent show. Clicking the words Pasta Grannies goes to the channel where Nonna's are filmed kneading, rolling, filling and shaping all kinds of pasta.
I LOVE this channel.
In other, other news, shown in the last photo, I started a new hobby ...

Candle making? Cool! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThey are almost too gorgeous to eat! A real work of art. Love the bowl too.
ReplyDeleteThese are great and I bet they taste it too. Can’t wait to see what you are making next. This is Denise by the way. I am using my laptop that signs me in as anonymous. I haven’t got it sorted out yet. http://anenglishgirlrambles2016.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletethanks for the link too.
DeleteOh, they're so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure they're delicious too.
It's almost like quilting; once you start, you can't stop... the best part is, you just keep getting better.
Hug and thank you.
Candle making, a good hobby, I burn a lot of candles for some reason, more so in winter than in summer.
ReplyDeleteI do love and admire your pasta you made, well done.
I am totally IMPRESSED! The pasta looks beautiful in the photo and I am thinking this would be so good for my IBS diet.. I can barely cook pasta someone else makes, so the idea of making it is not anything I could do... you can burn the candles while you photograph the pasta you make, and now I ponder what will come next after the candles... you are sooo talented.. color me jealous
ReplyDeletePasta looks great. My wife has made homemade pasta before but she's never dried it, we just cooked and ate it right away. I'll tell her about that channel.
ReplyDeleteI have never made my own pasta. Yours looks good, such a nice variety.
ReplyDeleteCandle making sounds like fun. I remember when I was growing up I got a candle making kit for Christmas one year. My brother used to make his own candles.
I love making pasta and I have been watching Pasta Grannies for a long time. I just wish I could visit and cook with some of them. I need to start making my own candles, how fun. The wood wick ones are the best. Have a great day my friend!!
ReplyDeleteYour many kinds of. pasta look AMAZING! And candles now too? I have dabbled in candle-making in the past but I must say that wooden wicks are new to me. I hope you'll do a post on your new hobby!
ReplyDeleteQuite the selection of pasta! It looks great! I have no clue what the hobby is.
ReplyDeleteYour pasta looks amazing. I used to play around making pasta years ago, and then I got away from it. But I love how now there are so many pasta ideas that weren't around before. Like using chickpeas or even whole wheat. I think you are having lots of fun...And I love seeing what you've made. Have a super rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteI will have a look and maybe a start making pastas I have already the pasta machine but never used it 😂 your new hobby is a good one candle making is nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say on this wordless Wednesday......."Ivy, You AMAZE me".
ReplyDeleteWow I am so impressed with your pasta making skills. I have never attempted to make pasta for a variety of reasons. One, I didn't know you could make it without eggs, two - it looks time consuming and too much work - three I would eat it all- I LOVE pasta.. I'm glad you are enjoying it!~!
ReplyDeleteGreat pasta!
ReplyDeleteWow! Making your own candles? Sounds pretty amazing! The cooking stuff is way beyond me.
ReplyDeleteYour pasta looks so delicious! I love that you use a variety of different ingredients to make them too.
ReplyDeleteWe made pasta for a while, then moved on to other culinary hobbies. We didn’t do all those interesting flavors, though, they sound good.
ReplyDeleteI've made pasta in the past (!) but now you're making me think of other flours, such as chickpea. Thank you, I think that's in my future. I used to make candles until cats made it a bit hazardous to burn them, wanting to play with the flames.
ReplyDeleteHi, your pasta looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of making candles. I should give it a try.
Your noodles look awesome! Well done!
ReplyDeleteOh my!!!I've only made long pasta, other than gnocchi. I'm more than impressed. You should call this "Less Wordy Wednesday".
