I broke my camera. Had a little cry. Tried to fix it. Failed. Then the best part, found a new used model that's only taken 1000 shots. She arrives Friday. Compatible with the lenses I already own.
This is my happy dance.
You can't see me but I'm smiling and doing the happy chair wiggle as I type. AND, I got a call from the appliance store and they gave me 400 smackers off the a new scratch 'n' dent washer. Not sure when that arrives. I'll know more soon when I go pay for it.
Not too shabby.
And that my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print.
Thanks for reading and boogie boogie.
PS: Alex asked about getting camera fixed and reselling it. I forgot to add, the video side of the camera works well. Should the shutter get fixed, I'll still keep both cameras because I'm at the point where having two cameras is gonna be sooooo helpful. One for just video, already set up and the other to go on macro walks and other projects.
Exciting stuff!
Thanks for Alex or asking the question.
Sorry you broke the camera! Would someone be able to fix and sell it for you?
ReplyDeleteThis is my bad, I forgot to add. The video recording part of the camera works so I'll keep this one in the kitchen. Then if by chance the shutter gets fixed, then I'll keep it as a backup camera. I'm at the stage now where I have use for two cameras running at once. Pretty cool. Thanks, Alex!
DeleteYAY~ happy dance for you.. i had two cameras and you are right. I also had bob to carry one or both of them while i used my cell.. ha ha now i have no camera and no bob to carry them, but i do have a Samsung Android cell to take photos of dumb stuff on our 100 x 100 lot with our 1350 sq foot jail house.
ReplyDeleteMy dad died in that nurshing home, back then it was a wonderful place to put beloved family. before it sold to the money hungry HCA company. Daddy loved that hall and he and i would HOLD COURT outside under the trees, to the same 6 people every day, they were all my family... just like him. one of them let the squirrels climb her leg and eat out of her hand. the trees were full of bird, the courtyard full of growing flower. now the doors to the courtyard have padlocks on them. they have to keep an aid out there to have it open. cut that pay and save a few dollars. i am pondering how you broke the shutter
I am sorry that Bob's birthday wasn't like old times. I hope you get the birthday wish and next year it's back to good things. Your story is beyond touching. Everything you do. You are one rare lady and just a beautiful person.
DeleteIt feels like more and more places are being sold for the worst. That sucks. Big time.
Padlocks now. That's so sad. So sorry it's not good.
The shutter so ... tried a bunch of stuff and unless there's something stuck in the shutter (we'll find out), but unless that's it, it's likely that I exceeded the shutter count for that camera. Which is 100,000. I didn't think I did and then I started adding the amount of photos on my SD card. So if it's not dust/something stuck in the shutter, then I might have used my camera to death.
I'll know more later.
Thank you for stopping in. Sending you lots of love and huggs and of course, oogie boogie wishes too. π§‘ππ·️ππ»ππΈ️π€π§‘
I can see where a broken camera can be devastating - even me with just my iPhone camera I would be lost and would have to replace it immediately! Heck with the phone, I only want the camera! Have fun with your new washer!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby. Yeah, I cried for a few minutes, not long because I knew that I would be able to get another one. But still, I was sad. Thanks about the washer. It's washing her first load now. Good to have that in place. Thanks for stopping in today, Debby. π»
DeleteOh no!! my heart sank for a bit there. so glad you found a back up and at a great deal. woo hoo. a blessing for sure!
ReplyDeleteHey Shug. Hope you have a great blogger break, see you when you get back.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear that. When something is as precious and useful as a camera breaks, that's a huge deal. Heard your heart break with it, didn't you? Glad you got a new one coming though!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
DeleteWhat an upset - your wonderful camera!!! Glad it. may still have a use and hope your new one will be perfect. You do take wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judee. Loved your new bowls. Hope we get to see pictures with your soups in them. Happy Weekend!
DeleteI'm sorry about your camera - but it sounds like it will be good in the end!
ReplyDeleteI think so to, Mari. I'd been on the fence about video and this sorta allows me that extra freedom of one camera always set up and ready to shoot video in the kitchen. Loved that bread you made from a few posts back. I still have it marked to make. Thanks!
DeleteSounds like all ended up well. Could have been a bummer!
ReplyDeleteIn the end it feels like it will be better. Thanks, Cheryl. Happy Savings to you.
DeleteSorry to hear about your camera, but glad you found a good replacement one so quickly!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back chickie. Hope you're healing well and it's wonderful to see you again.
DeleteHello Ivy, so sorry your broke your camera, dear friend! Happy October to you! Your header made me smile!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Happy October indeed. Love this time of year. Happy weekend to you with a great big side of boogie boogie. π»ππ§‘π€π
DeletePhew! I was getting worried there ... and then I read about the new camera you are getting :)
ReplyDeleteI was so pleased I decided to join you for a happy dance.
Happy October ... I'm sure it's going to be a good month.
All the best Jan
Thanks for joining me in a happy dance!
DeleteHappy October indeed. Best time of year everrrrrr. π§‘π€ππ»πππ·️πΈ️
Hello Ivy
DeleteJust popping in to say ... thanks for your recent comment on the low carb diabetic.
I was so pleased you were able to try the lentil bake and amended the recipe to better suit you... fabulous.
Hope you've had a good weekend, may the new week be a good one for you.
All the best Jan
Thanks, Jan. Was very good and a fun way to use up bits and bobs from the fridge. Much thanks to you! I don't have pictures but when I make it again and have the camera stuff ready to go for food, I'll tag you and share it here on the blog. Really, really, really tasty. And so easy!
DeleteI would have a little cry over a broken camera too. Glad you were able to find a replacement. Awesome on the scratch and dent discount too.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, some tears came out for sure. New used one arrives today. Supposed to be high marks. Hoping it's a good bit of kit.
DeleteScratch and dent really just my fave. I can't even see where the dents and scratches are on this model.
Loving all the stuff you're yarnin'. That pumpkin. OMG. Cuteness overload ππππππ
So sorry to hear you broke your camera.
ReplyDeleteHey Christine! Your dark cherry bake. Oh my yum. Thanks about the camera. New used one arrives by end of day.
DeleteI am sorry that the camera got broken, but happy that you found a new to you one so quickly.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Me too, Jackie. Much thanks and Happy Weekend!!!!
DeleteSo sorry about your camera so glad you found another one. Hopefully you will be able to fix the other one.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Hey Cathy! Me too. The other one will get used for video and just live in the kitchen ready to shoot at any time, attached to a dummy battery so the camera is always charged. There are a few more things to do, and the camera might shutter again. Though I'm not banking on that and that's okay. Just to have a camera ready to shoot video is a game changer and quite the treat.
DeleteHappy Weekend to you and boogie boogie ππ§‘ππ·️ππΈ️π»π€
Sorry to read you broke your camera but another was found. Happy shooting (with the camera..lol )
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret. Wishing you a fun weekend ahead!
DeleteMaybe the camera broke itself? Then you don't have to feel bad.
ReplyDeleteHey River. I don't feel bad anymore. New used one on the way and as a very, very cool thing, I'll always have a camera ready to shoot video in the kitchen or back deck 24.7. Not too shabby. Wishing you a fun weekend and Happy Writing!
DeleteToo bad your camera broke. If mine broke I'd cry too. Glad you found a replacement. And hurrah for $$$ off your new washer too. That's a good way to start the month. Happy October to you!
ReplyDeleteVery good way to kick off October, indeed. Wishing you a fun weekend ahead and boogie boogie π»π€πΈ️ππ·️ππ§‘π
DeleteThere’s nothing like finding a great deal on something you need, especially a camera you love. Can’t wait for you to try it out on your walks and projects. Boogie on.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
DeleteI'm in camera frustration. I received a notice that the out-of-manufacture camera I've been trying to get for months was "in." I went online to order and sold out. They probably only got one but now I'm back searching again. Meanwhile, the old one still works -- just not as well as it used to!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, that's not fun. Have you tried B&H Photo? They have a live chat and no one is obligated to buy anything. I've talked to them so many times and they're very, very helpful. And they have a good reputation in the photography world.
DeleteWhat doesn't work for you with your old camera? What made you want to upgrade?
One door shut, but another opened! Happy new camera!
ReplyDeleteYes! That's it, bang on. Very, very cool. I'm excited. Happy Weekend and boogie boogie ππ§‘ππ·️ππΈ️π€π»
DeleteSo glad it all turned out well! And you will have fun playing with the new camera, too! I once dropped a really expensive super zoom camera on the wooden floor. It had a quick death.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny. When you say super zoom camera what does that mean? Was it a zoom lens that you cracked? Or did the entire body of the camera find a quick death. Did you end up replacing your camera/lens? Hope you got something fun now to play with. Photography rocks!
DeleteOh no, I am so sorry you broke your camera. Been there, done that and it's an awful feeling isn't it? Glad you found a replacement. Already looking forward to those photographs :)))
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I cried for a short breath and then I was in fix-it replace mode pretty quick. Me too, glad I got the replacement. Should be here by end of day. Wishing you a fun-filled weekend ahead. Cheers and boogie boogie π»π€πΈ️ππππ·️ππ§‘
DeleteThat’s the ticket! Always good to move on as best we can. Have a great week Ivy! :)
DeleteOh my gosh, this turned out way better than planned now having a film camera too. What a true treat. Thanks, Denise. Wishing you a fun yummy day ahead.
DeleteSorry about the demise of your camera. I sure hope this new one will help you in your business. Can't wait to see all the macros. My favorite kind of photography. Haven't done any for so long. Life just keeps getting in the way.
ReplyDeleteGreat news on your washer too.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Sue
Hey Sue! In the end it all rolled out for the best. I don't have a business yet though. Someday though! Very cool to read that you like macro as well. It's such a treat to shoot. Have you tried doing it first thing in the morning, when the world is quiet and still sleepy?
DeleteOh no! How did it break?
ReplyDeleteWell, it still could be a dirty sensor or something stuck, or the main board or ... that I've used the shutter to max. Still not sure. Loved the snow you had in your minis Ray! Happy Gaming and Happy Shooting!
DeleteHope your new camera is doing well and I am waiting for new STUFF to pop up. have fun and the day after I kept my cool during the RN chaos, I lost my temper and yelled and screamed and had a HISSY FIT... at Bob, over something that could not be helped or under my control... I am better than I was but the old McCall Temper is still hanging around
ReplyDeleteThat's understandable with what you're going through. I totally get that and there's nothing wrong with it. You're still an amazing cookie and just a wonderful soul. Big huggs and love your way π§‘
DeleteHope to see some photos with your new camera, soon.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to October.
Happy October. Already seven days in. Whoooosh.
DeleteI can imagine how you feel being without a camera...glad you found one to replace it. It is a long story why I don't blog often...just been a long year. Due to circumstances, I seldom take a pic and haven't found the gift that Sandra has of making a post out of nothing. And I LOVE her posts. But this time I have not followed blogs at all, and been trying to return visits and realize I sure have missed everyone.
ReplyDeleteHey Rose. I'm sorry it's been a long year. Sandra (both of them), are wonderful. I understand walking away and when life, well, gets to be too much life. What's nice and also wonderful is our little bloggerworld. Lots of support here. Sending you bunches of good wishes and I look forward to seeing more from you, when/if you're ready. Cheers, Ivy.
DeleteI have a fear of breaking mine, it is not cheap. What did you break? What are you getting to replace it?
ReplyDeleteHey Pam. Cameras die, it's just part of the gig. There are deals at B&H, that's where I got mine. Sales there too!
DeleteSad news about the camera, RIP, but great news about the replacement. Even better news about the appliance cost savingsπ
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beatrice! In the end, it turned out for the best. OMG on the washer. It's soooooooo nice. I lovessss it.
DeleteBye bye old camera (for now, at least), and welcome new one. May you take many wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
HiYa Amalia! Thank you for the good wishes!
DeleteI was just checking to see if your camera came! I hope it did...
ReplyDeleteHey Rose! Yes, it arrived last week and OMG. I love it so much. Thank you for asking!
