Hello Monday! Hello World! Here's some good things going on in my world, today. I'd love to hear what's going on in yours. Let's kick things off.
First up, most of my veggie garden seeds are ordered and have shipped. We also increased the food pantry from five to six shelves, along with tucking a small bookshelf of tinned goods under my workbench. AND dun, dun, dun, I started sprouting lentils.
Never did it before. Learning and tasting as I go and after 12 hours, the lentils already have a good yummy crunch. So excited to see them sprout. Then to sprout other things.
Do you sprout?
In other news, my missing front(ish) tooth will remain that way for a bit longer. My 3D image was considered non-essential and the appointment was canceled. Not a complaint. I'm fine waiting. For now, I'm a chick without a front tooth, living in a rural area, about to start a fun veggie garden.
Life is good. Pictures to come.
Lastly, with the fridge and upper cupboards long out of the kitchen, I finally pushed the workbench (aka kitchen table), against the wall and that makes filming SO MUCH EASIER. Pure heaven. But ... the wall is still red and damaged so I'll fix that. But for now I'm shooting any time of day, because film gear gets to stay up 24/7, which is something that I've wanted for a long time. Very, very happy to have this space.
And that my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print. Stay safe, be kind to each other and look out for each other. These are messed up times but even in the midst of the mayhem, good things can still be a thing.
Hugs & Bugs,
Sorry about your tooth. My regular cleaning got pushed back until late April as well.ReplyDelete
Glad your studio is up full time now!
Hi Alex. That's okay, I don't mind about the tooth.Delete
It was pulled out in early December and eventually, I've have a new one.
Thanks, me too. So easy to shoot.
Have fun with the movies at home. I do love that, that's an option.
Stay safe and be well.
Best of luck with the studio! Sorry about the tooth, though. :( In time all will be well.ReplyDelete
Hello Christian! Boy was it fun to see your comment today.Delete
Happy gaming with guy goobers, coming up. Very cool.
Are you cooking these days?
Ahhh! You remind me! We have pumpkin seeds! When the cold is over I will "secretly" plant them in our garden (party of 14 here, so notreally "ours").ReplyDelete
Outchy, say hi to my older Niece she lost a bit of her front tooth in a bike accident (it´s OK now).
Hey, you took a pic of our kitchen?!! ;-)
(Our red is a tad brighter)
Hi Iris. That's cool that you share a garden. Is it a community garden?Delete
We have some pumpkin seeds to plant too. The last time we did those was forever.
And they were Tiny Tim Pumpkins. No wait, I don't know if that's the right name.
Jack-be-littles, that's the name. What else are you planting this year?
Good morning, So glad you dropped by-yes we need to stay positive and do happy things for ourselves right now. I was in the middle of getting a new crown-on hold for now too. Hugs from the lakeReplyDelete
Hi Kathy and welcome to my little corner of the world.Delete
Here's to the crown getting done in time.
I really don't mind about the 3D image xray.
Right now, spending extra money on a tooth is not on my wish list.
Happy Painting and great to see you. Cheers, Ivy.
they are just too expensive for sure-I don't mind holding off on mine eitherDelete
Agreed. I've been toothless since early December.Delete
I can go a bit longer. Stay well, Kathy. Nice to have you here.
All I want for Christmath ith my two front teeth... (sorry, it had to be done). Never sprouted anything. It's been forever since I've started seeds. Wish I had some potting soil and seeds right now. Hope the tooth thing isn't too much of a pain right now. I imagine all the dentists are only doing emergency type stuff right now. -JennReplyDelete
..."My two front teeth, my two front teeth." Now the song is stuck in my head. Ha! That's funny. No, not too bad. In early December I had five teeth yanked and so the front one has been missing since then but really, it's not bad. Just a tooth. The important thing is no infections came of it and right now, I don't want the rest of the surgery anyway, just in case. Thanks, Jenn. Stay well and be safe.Delete
looks good Ivy. I ordered hair colour from Amazon. My neighbour is a good gardener.ReplyDelete
Very cool that you got some from Amazon. I bought my last round of seeds from them. Stay safe and be well.Delete
I LOVE your attitude. I DO hope you get your tooth sooner than later....but you did make me laugh with the fact that you're missing a front tooth and you live in a rural area. ;)ReplyDelete
I can't wait to see the pics of your veggie garden; that really is always an exciting time and much to look forward to. YAY for a dedicated 24/7 filming spot for you. Woot woot!!
Hey Suz! It's looking on the later side but that's okay.Delete
I'm really starting to rock this missing front tooth look.
Pictures of garden in progress to come.
PS: Your pool area looks soooo pretty and peaceful.
My partner's dental appointment has been pushed back because his dentist is unwell - and being tested for Covid 19. I hope both of you get the treatment you need sooner rather than later.ReplyDelete
Hooray for home planting and happy productive times.
Thanks, Sue. It's looking like later rather than sooner but that's okay.Delete
I am not in any pain. No infections. No issues. I'd like to keep it that way.
Sorry your dentist is sick. Hope not for long.
Is your partner is pain? I hope not.
You're sprouting lentils? You might want to see a doctor about that.ReplyDelete
I've sprouted mung beans a couple of times. Don't remember why I stopped, but last week I cooked the last of the mung beans in a curry.ReplyDelete
Hi Kathy. I had a bag of mung beans awhile back but this was pre-pressure cooking days.Delete
As for curry, I recently started using a non-salt curry mix and oh my gosh, I LOVE IT.
What kind do you like? I'm still learning about them.
We don’t sprout but maybe we should? Take care!ReplyDelete
Hi Marie! Thanks for stopping by.Delete
This is my first go at it.
Glad you're doing well! Things are very abnormal here (not working, staying home) but I guess that's how it has to be. Can't wait for the new normal, whatever that turns out to be!ReplyDelete
I remember you saying that you loved your new job.Delete
Stay safe and here's to getting some good writing in.
Hi Ivy :) I'm really envious that you ordered seeds! Don't know if I'll have a proper garden this summer or not. I'm glad to see your studio coming along!! :)ReplyDelete
Hellooooo Rain. You've been on my mind. Very happy for you and Alex.Delete
I bet when you do get your garden going it will be rockin' Rain-style.
Stay safe. Happy moving and thanks for stopping by today.
I don't grow sprouts or eat them raw because of the bacterial risks - salmonella, listeria, e-coli. I do like them cooked, though, and they're safe that way. Take care, Ivy, especially if you have a compromised immune system. (I'm vaguely remembering you had some medical issues??)ReplyDelete
I actually feel your red wall is very artistic and avant-garde as a filming background. It looks "on purpose" to me!
I'm sorry about your postponed dental work. But - priorities, we got 'em right now :)
Hi Jenny. That's a good point that I didn't consider. Thank you.Delete
I will look into it some more. I don't mind cooking them.
Thank you about the wall. That's part old dry wall trailer wall paper.
Part red cafe paint, part where fridge was and part, I just wanted to paint Tim's name.
That's okay about the tooth. It's okay with me. Safety of everyone is more important.
Plus, I'm started to really rock this front tooth missing, look.
Looks good Ivy Im sure your studio will be wonderful.you are amazing in all yours proyects !!ReplyDelete
Hi Gloria! I love that you have apple trees on your land.Delete
Wonderful. Cheers and stay safe. Happy Autumn to you.
Good Luck with the wall, camera and the tooth !ReplyDelete
Great fun with all the gud dogs on your page.Delete
Stay safe and keep 'em coming. They're fun to see.
Enjoy fixing up your studio! It's not like you have anywhere else to be, right? :)ReplyDelete
True but, I work, cook and bake from home anyway.Delete
So I love it. This is my happy place!
Stay safe. Hope the airline gives you a credit.
That would be WONDERFUL!
Lots of things here are being delayed too.ReplyDelete
So, so true. Works for me. Stay safe!Delete
Yeah, my doctor and the blood draw people were supposed to come out this week but it all got cancelled. My doctor still contacted me through email and filled my prescriptions that have now been mailed out and are on the way.ReplyDelete
That is wonderful that they contacted you and did what they could to help. Very, very cool.Delete
I love your studio set-up! It looks really good. Everything is at a halt here. I guess it's the new way. Stay well.ReplyDelete
Thanks, Jeanie! It's getting there.Delete
And thanks for stopping in today.
Looks great and love your joyful energy. That's something that everyone should be infected with! Got your email and will shoot you one tomorrow. Right now I'm shutting down. It's time for hubby and me to make popcorn and curl up on the couch. Hope you and your honey bunny are doing well, safe and sound!ReplyDelete
Hey Martha. I am done with the closet image that I sent you and started the papers and ... took crap to the dumpster. Those tools. Oy, they take up more space than I'd like.Delete
Glad to hear you guys are still popcornin' it on the couch. Very cool. Whatcha watching these days?
Yes, thank you. You two stay safe, too.
Missed this the other day Ivy, Glad things are going along smoothly. Just don't smile too much or do what Empress Josephine did, cover your mouth with your hand - she had bad teeth apparently LOL. Glad your studio is now organised and you can shoot whenever you want. Sprouting lentils, very ambitious.ReplyDelete
Hey Jo! I tell you the truth, I smile a lot and I often forget that I'm toothless.Delete
Yes, there are quite a few things that are being cancelled and delayed, we just have to cope the best we can.ReplyDelete
Your studio is looking good, you will have such fun.
Take care, keep smiling and stay safe.
All the best Jan
I'm happy things are getting canceled.Delete
I'd like to see WAY more of that.
Thanks. Once it's painted I'll be able to do photos.
How are you guys doing? Staying safe?
Are you face timing with the grandkids?
You are staying busy! Which is what we need to do! I hope we get our seed order placed today, it sounds like the demand is on these companies now as well, so the sooner we order the better! So many of our plans for this year have changed, including that we are going to get more chickens now! That addition to our farm may happen today :) Be safe! <3ReplyDelete
I got everything and even found a wonderful new place to order from.Delete
www.MIgardener.com is the address. I found the prices to be wonderful.
It's so great to see the surge in people growing from home.
I hope this continues long after. Groovy on the chickens. Stay safe and plant on!
Very professional looking. Congratulations! I have an appointment coming up, I guess it'll be cancelled too. But that's okay. Planting a garden sound like fun, and a great idea! have fun!ReplyDelete
Me too, I don't mind either.Delete
Stay safe and be well.
Hugs and bugs to you too!!ReplyDelete
Stay safe...stay home...
Thank you beautiful Linda!Delete
Thank you. Stay safe and be well. Also, here's to tossing in some fun, too.Delete
Sprouted lentils! That sounds fun. I've sprouted garbanzo beans, and something else once upon a time. Why can't I remember?ReplyDelete
Hi Becki! Very cool on the garbanzo beans. I've not tried that.Delete
I was sprouting like crazy few years ago and then I was too busy to remember and take care of it, I should go back to that now! Stay safe and healthy everyone ☺ReplyDelete
Hey Natalia! Sounds like it was fun though.Delete
Stay healthy and be well. Thanks!
Lovely studio. :-)ReplyDelete
Greetings from London.
My colonoscopy was considered non-essential and got cancelled, but my husband gets his in 2 weeks. I'm the one with a chronic illness, so I don't get it. But, life goes on. Sorry about your tooth. Hopefully, things will resume back to normal soon and you'll get it fixed.ReplyDelete
Hi Theresa. I'm sorry yours was canceled and that you have a chronic illness. Have you had it all your life? Thanks about the tooth. We decided to just wait a bit longer. Hubby is working right now but all it takes is for him or one of the other skeletons working to get it, and the job shuts down for 14 days. So ... I kinda want to hold onto everything we can right now. Well, as much as possible. Garden bed materials still arriving.Delete
No, I've only had ulcerative colitis since I was 24, so 16 year. I am supposed to get annual colonoscopies to monitor it, but who knows if I'll get one this year or not.Delete
Understandable to wait on the tooth. If it's not bothersome, I'd probably hold out as well. These uncertain times surely make us reevaluate what needs to be done asap and what can actually wait.
Yeah, we have to hold off because it's a lot of money and we want to keep that money for in case Tim can't work. No pain. I don't know much about ulcerative colitis but I hope you get your checkup soon. I hope you're not in pain.Delete
No, no pain here either so no harm in waiting, I suppose. Fingers crossed Tim is able to remain active with his work. I think that's another reason why I really want to start my own garden. With the economy the way it is, I want to be able to grow and can most of our produce. That will be really helpful if we stumble upon hard times.Delete
Thank you. Yes, same. Well, it started for me as wanting to save money (I used to have a garden where I lived before), but with Covid, I find it's even more important to grow from home. Are you doing beans? I'm doing stuff that I can dry and carry into winter too. Tim went to the store today, got beans and lentils and I'd like to just have our own. That'd be cool. Glad you're not in pain.Delete
I do indeed sprout HW, but all flower sproutage :) I have over 100 jonquil bulbs awaiting planting for spring, unfortunately summer seems reluctant to leave WA this year, so they will have to wait a bit longer.. just subscribed to your YouTube cooking channel, looking forward to looking through your recipes ✨ Happy weekend.ReplyDelete
100 bulbs very cool. Sounds pretty and peaceful. Do jonquils come up yearly? I don't know a lot about them. I'm learning though. So fun. Thanks for the sub. I've been away but am getting back to it. I just found your black and white blog and joined that. So pretty. I love trees and I love black and white photos. Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy.Delete
