They are so yummy.
Before I made my own bagels, I felt intimidated by the recipe. Years later, I can make them with my eyes closed.
And this past weekend I made a nice big batch.
Eight everything, five salt, and three chili flake. Felt damn good to be in my own kitchen again. I love making things.
love bagels too! look nice!!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear it. Challenge is good, but it's also good to be able to run on autopilot occasionally, let the ability take over.
ReplyDeleteIf there are any left over, and a choice, I'll take one with everything...
*gasp*! I must learn!
ReplyDeleteGloria: Thank you - we're having leftover bagels with supper tonight.
ReplyDeletePorky: I agree with you on that. And we have plenty, so I'll teleport you some everything, right now.
Melanie: One day I'll write out all the steps. It's quite fun to make them. And even stuff them with meat and cheeses.
Thanks for dropping by.
you must bake for me... i must have a bagel... send me a bagel.
ReplyDeleteiZombie: I'll send you two.
ReplyDeleteNow I want a Bagel! Argh!
ReplyDeletedo you need my address or will you be like my wife and throw them at my head... should i be ducking?
ReplyDeletemmmmuhahaha!
You made your own bagels??? That is so very awesome!
ReplyDeleteBrutorz: I wish I had a button and I could teleport them over.
ReplyDeleteiZombie: You know, nearly each time I try and nail Tim in the head with sometimes, I almost always miss.
RaShelle: Been making them for so long now, yet I still remember back when I was afraid to.
I'm going to try making bagels this summer. Might have to ask some advice when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a batch of Asiago Cheese then please!
ReplyDeleteSusan: Email me anytime. They are great fun to make.
ReplyDeleteAlex: Ohhhh, Asiago cheese bagels. Now that does sound good.
you make me wish I liked to cook so I could eat yummy things.
ReplyDeletewell done! I love making breads and such from scratch...it does feel good to get things done in your own kitchen, doesn't it?
ReplyDeletemshatch: Don't like to cook????
ReplyDeleteLori: Nothing like bread from my own kitchen. Especially after putting in so many hours at the restaurant.
There's no place like home.
Bagels being SPECIAL, well, home-made bagels are therefore SPECIAL SPECIAL. Those at your table are lucky ducks. :)
ReplyDeleteI miss bagels! When are you posting the recipe?
ReplyDeleteI've never been brave enough to attempt making these myself. And you can't beat a fresh bagel. Storebought can't compete. I'd love to try the chili flakes bagels. mmmmmm yummmy!
ReplyDeleteWell they certainly look tasty!!! yum yum!!
ReplyDeleteRagnardbard: I wish I could pass a bunch out to you gamers.
ReplyDeleteDaisey: Good question.
Anne: Have a safe trip to Ireland. Hope you take lots of pictures.
The chili flake once were good. I sliced them into long chip-like shapes and had them with tea.
Rayolla: They were. Hey, I loved your moving photo thing. Well done, Sir.
I must be the odd one out here... never did develop a liking for bagels.
ReplyDeleteWilliam: There's a lot of crappy bagels out there.
