Hello end of the week! Got a few good deals at Grocery Outlet, the repair man fixed the oven and I baked a killer pumpkin spice, sprouted spelt, no egg, no dairy all yum cake. The washer on the other hand is Frankensteined (for now), and next week the scratch n' dent models hit the floor.
Love me a scratch 'n dent room. That's what my oven is. She's not all shines and sparkles but the price was right and she bakes like a dream. With her a new ignitor, I'm back to working on the bake book and that my Boogerbutts is a good feeling.
Two thumbs up for this week.
AND ....
I'm glad you had a great week. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hope yours rocked and Happy Fall ๐
DeleteCongrats on a good week and you deserve it.... you make life fun... Had to Google spelt, and now I know. learned something new.. but will forget by the end of day. ha ha....
ReplyDeleteOrganic brown sprouted spelt is my GO TO! LOOOOOOOOVE it. Brilliant flour. Hey, I enjoyed all your light posts AND the liminal space. That hallway looks like it could be in a spooky movie. So fun. ๐
DeleteI buy scratch n dent tooo
ReplyDeleteIt's the best! ๐ป
DeleteHooray for a good week. We've got some good scratch and dent buys too.
ReplyDeleteI love the scratch and dent room. Happy Week to you Mari ๐ป
Deleteso glad the oven is fixed and yay for a good week
ReplyDeleteMe too. How are you doing? You baking a lot this season? ๐
DeleteI figure if God uses imperfect people I certainly can use a scratch and dented appliance! I love a good deal too! ๐
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a good deal, Debby. Hopefully we'll score on this week. Eyeballs crossed. ๐
DeleteHere's to a great week, hopefully followed by a great weekend. I love the term "scratch n' dent" and I LOVE your header image!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Polly!!!!!! Thanks about the header. That was shot during the day with sunlight only I used the speedlight (a flash that doesn't come with the camera), to shoot it for a darker background. Really fun. Again, Happy Happy Happy Birthday ๐ and Fall! ๐๐
DeleteGlad you had a good week.
ReplyDeleteHere's to getting good deals, Cheryl. Do you buy scratch and dents? We love 'em. ๐ป๐ค
DeleteI'd not come across 'scratch and dent' buys so I did a google search and now I know more ...
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you've had a good week, may the weekend be a good one too.
All the best Jan
Hey Jan! A good scratch and dent is a fun purchase for sure. Our washer won't last the season so hoping to find a good deal this week. Love the bakes you had. Pumpkin Spice and the lemon. Great minds because that's what went on in my kitchen too! Spooky! Love it. ๐งก๐ค๐งก๐ค๐งก
DeleteSo glad that everything is going so well!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Ginny. I just got back from catching up on your recent posts and I LOVED THEM ALL. The fall is so fun and today my feed is filled with fall. What a treat! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. ๐๐ป๐๐ค๐งก
DeleteI always love coming here and filling up on all the cheeriness! Your all yum cake sounds just that!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Abby. Saw that you had your shift this weekend. Nice that you don't have to do it each weekend. Loved the board of fun things. Will show you the Orb Weaver in an upcoming post. She's soooo pretty. Ms Autumnal herself.
DeleteMy washing machine was the floor display model and the only one left when I wanted to buy one. The warehouse had sold out. It was a Store closing down sale, so the machine was marked down considerably in price and then the salesman knocked off an extra $200 because of a tiny scratch no one would ever noticed and because it had been touched by countless hands all the time it was on display. She lasted 27 years in my various homes.
ReplyDeleteI love reading about the deals you got. And 200 smackers off to boot. Yes please and thank you. 27 years, yes, our old washer too. This one, 12 years. Though I learned that I was over-stuffing her to boot. Moving forward, I won't do that again.
DeleteVery, very sad about Sue. I thanked her for the frozen bubbles, photos and fun. She was a good kind soul and it just blows my mind that she's not here. Though in our hearts, yes, but I'll miss her a great deal ๐ข Huggs and Love your way, I know she left a big hole in your heart ๐งก
Keep cooking good things with that oven.
ReplyDeleteMuch thanks, Margaret!
DeleteI hear you on those scratch and dent deals. Who cares about a little dent if the appliance works perfectly. Glad your oven got fixed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, me too. Missed the oven. Looks like we'll get 400 off the price with the dented model. I go see it today.
DeleteGlad you are working on the bake book again!
ReplyDeleteOMG. Me too. I mean, love me some air fryer and pressure cooked bakes, but man alive, to have the oven, oven back is dang good.
DeleteI had to Frankenstein my own oven! And now it bakes like a nightmare, but I'm learning to tame it.
ReplyDeleteHope you don't have to Frankenstein your oven for long. Though sometimes that's fun too. I can't comment on your blog with blogger so here I'm saying that your cornbread and all the goodies tossed in looked fun. Happy Baking and thanks for stopping in.
DeleteMy washer and dryer were both scratch and dents, as was my old refrigerator. It's the best way to get a new appliance, unless you can find a super sale. Hope your weekend goes as well as your week.
ReplyDeleteLove that you get the scratch and dents too. It's just great when available. Turns out 400 off for the new washer. I'm real happy with that. And I just got back from catching up on your pages and LOOOOOVED all the fall and artwork. Very, very, very exited to see what your Halloween steampunk is. So fun. ๐
DeleteThat sounds delicious and a tasty cake indeed!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall, Jeanie! Loved the fall photos and I'm the same way, I get out and enjoy that glow. It's stunning. What a great season to have a camera ๐๐๐ท️๐ค๐ค
DeleteGlad your oven was fixed, ours was too expensive to fix so we purchased a new one on deep discount.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
LOOOOOOVE a deep discount. Go you, Jackie. Our washer is 400 off. I'll take it!
DeleteNothing wrong with scratch and dents is there....love your cute drawing!! It is ADORABLE!! Your cake sounds good...wish I had a slice of it right now!!
ReplyDeleteI'll teleport you a slice in 3...2... 1....
DeleteI bought a winter squash at Grocery Outlet, forty nine cent a pound.
ReplyDeleteNice! How was the squash? I find their produce for mine, is not great and some of the cereals were stale and another, rancid. Though the loose spuds are sometimes very, very good and other times, not. Very pick through store. Their non-dairy stuff, so far, no problems with.
DeleteSounds like you had a great week Ivy, wonderful! Here's to a great Sunday for you and the same for next week too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise! Just waiting on the new used camera to arrive and then it's back outside for my fall fun! Wishing you a yummy fun week. Loved the ghosty and the pumpkin. Classic goodness! ๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
DeleteHave a great weekend
ReplyDeleteYou too. Hope your week was filled with lots of good art.
DeleteGlad you had a nice week. Sometimes there are good bargains and good quality!
ReplyDeleteSo true, Catherine. Love a good deal. Getting 400 off I learned yesterday.
DeleteDear Ivy, I am so happy for you ❤️ It's great that you had a good week ๐
ReplyDeleteThe week last, was excellent. This week, my camera died. After this post. However, new used camera arrives Friday so things are lookin' up! Wishing you a fun-filled and yummy week, Linda. Thanks for stopping in today ๐งก๐ค๐งก๐ค๐งก
DeleteGood for you, Ivy, in getting such a great deal and there’s nothing better ”wrong” with scratch & dent, refurbished, pre-owned or older models of appliances and many other things too. As a thrift store shopper, I have found many items, including small appliances.
ReplyDeleteI love a good second-hand store too! Sometimes the best deals are there. The washer is dented and the new camera arriving Friday is used. I'll take it! PS: Those pink shoes on the Muppet Lady in your other post. So cute!!!!
DeleteSo happy you had a good week and I cannot believe you have jumping lenses over there. Probably a bit more expensive than my polymer stamps that did the high jump into my basket.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
lololol on the jumping lenses. Those little things, they love to jump. The last one was 200 and the one before 400. Both really good prices for what the lenses provide. Happy Shopping, Neet. Great to see you! ๐
DeleteSounds like quite a week. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Last week was excellent. Then two days ago my camera died however, new used one arrives Friday. LOVED your teeny tiny posted goodies. So fun. I would LOVE to shoot all of those. Something so fun about the miniaturist life.
DeleteI have not come across a scratch and dent sell, but I would definitely not let a dent or scratch stop me from buying.
ReplyDeleteFor our store it's located in the back and they have to take us to the room. It's a family-own store. Very, very nice store and the stratch and dent room is the best!
