LIGHTBULB (I love that line)

Burr, lemme just say, burr. At least no snow this morning. Lots of frost on the morning macro photography walk. I did not want to get dressed and head out. As always, just because I don't want to do it, doesn't mean I won't and it almost always means I'm glad that I did.

Say that ten times fast.

Speaking of photography and all things wonderful. Last night I ordered a Godox V350 flash with a small diffuser. The flash connects to the top of the camera and the flash can point up (for bounce), or shoot directly at the subject. That's where the diffuser comes in. If I shoot the directly at a tiny bug or flower, the light is hard. Once I slap that diffuser on there, the light becomes softer.

Think bright sunny day, no clouds = hard light.

Think cloudy (with a chance of meatballs), with sun = soft light.

I can't hear cloudy without also hearing with a chance of meatballs. I dunno why? Just like I can't say the word lightbulb, without also saying it in Gru's accent.

"Lightbulb."

Love that line.

"I hate that guy" and "It's so fluffy" also excellent lines.

What kind of blog am I writing today? I dunno. I got zero focus. Can't keep a thought in my head other than, is it Thursday yet? And how do I attach this flash?

Speaking of Thursday, over at Shug's blog she does a TRY IT THURSDAY. I love the fun! Trying new things, rocks.

Click Shug's Blog to play along.

In other news, I cannot say this enough. I'm soooooo happy that the video camera gear is OUT of the kitchen and almost everything kitchen related is back in place. My world makes sense again.

Heaven I say, heaven.

In other, other news, I just made a single serving, non-dairy mac and cheese in the 3qt Mini Instant Pot. Everything in one pot, five minutes on high, no leftovers and easy to clean. This is a spin on my mom's mac and cheese, only with non-dairy cheese and instead of tomatoes I used water and salsa.

Get in my belly.

And that my Boogerbutts is all that's fit to print.

Huggs and Bugs, Me.

  9. ... and you thoroughly enjoyed your single serving of non-dairy mac and cheese.

It's been nice and sunny in my part of the UK, most of the schools are on Easter Holiday Break ... hoping the good weather lasts a little longer.

  10. Great that you got a new flash for your camera. I'd love to see some of the pictures you take with it. I've had my camera for so long, but it's still loyal to me. Yes, Shug's Try It Thursday is inspirational. Gives us fun things to try out. I'm glad you got your kitchen back in order. It's still cold here too in the mornings, and forecast says we may get snow in May! Have a wonderful week.

    2. No, I don't have one of those insta pots at the moment but if it means less washing up maybe I should look into it further. I'm holding on to the thought for future reference.

    3. I love mine. I love the one pot meals and also making tea in them, broth, yoghurt. It was one of those things I bought to cook raw beans and ended up with three different electric pressure cookers. If I can answer any questions, just shoot.

  24. i LOVE to stay home and i LOVE going out, i just need to plan things. if i have a day out, i need to make sure the next day i am home!! mac and cheese for one sounds good....i use stoffers and think it is so good BUT perhaps they use dairy cheese which i guess you can't have. that's easy too with zero cleanup!! i don't have an instapot and i just got an air fryer, i am late to the party!!

    1. The next day home sounds like a good plan! Air fryers are neat too! I don't have a conventional air fryer anymore. I have just the air fryer oven lid and it goes on things. Same idea. Same fun. Instapots if you ever decide to get one are soooooo fun. And the 3 qt mini is easy to clean. Bonus.

  25. I love Mac n' Cheese and yours sounds interesting but I don't know of these pots you talk about. In fact, despite it being 6 a here in the UK I could just eat a Mac n' Cheese.
Hate to say but we have just had over a week of gorgeous sunshine. Yours will come, promise.
The new diffuser sounds great and you seem to understand photography. Sadly I use my mobile.
