In other news, the mini electric pressure cooker just went off. In a few minutes I'll have elbow noodles, salsa and non-dairy cheese in a bowl, with a spoon, swinging my feet at the table.
I LOVE my pressure cookers. All three of them. Also, I love that the noodles cook in the salsa and the non-dairy cheese gets melty.
Get in my belly.
In other, other news, I've got a bit of a Swiss cheese brain when it comes to some of the manual camera settings so last Christmas I joined a Beginner Bootcamp (online), to help backfill my education. There are words that I don't understand. Today I'm ready to fill in the cheese holes. And since I have soooo much cleaning to do today, I'll grab the Bluetooth headphones, listen to classes and plow through the mess. Then another day, listen through with notepad and camera in hand.
Get those cheese holes filled but good.
Lastly, I LOVE working on my book. Really fun. I love, love, love that I'm pointed at something. It's the best. I mean I write all the time anyway, but being pointed directly at a book, that I'll then share, well, that's just better than a baked potato.
And I love potatoes.
Well Boogerbutts, that's all that's fit to print. Happy new season, wherever you are.

I live on rice noodles, elbows and cheese is delish but the tummy doesn't like it. its been so long since my DSLR camera died, about 5 years now, I have lost all knowledge of what you are listening too

Hey Cathy. You are not alone in the fear of pressure cookers. That being said, modern electric pressure cookers are light years away from old school on the hob, everybody outta the kitchen, she's gonna blow, kinds. But I do understand the fear, as I say, you are not alone. Many don't want this tool in their kitchen either. Me? I have three different sizes and I used them all. Just adore them. Though they have their limitations, like any kitchen tool.

ReplyDeleteMy gosh, they are good in the pressure cooker. Often I make a batch up and then use them later from the fridge to make breakfast potatoes, or to use the mash in bread formulas or make potato cakes. So. Much. Fun. Beans too. That's what made me finally get a pressure cooker. Kidney beans.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Ann! I love, love, love manual mode and using the real camera. Cell phones are fine, they get the job done but my heart belongs to my mirrorless camera in manual mode. That said, there are some bits and bobs that I struggle with and today's classes helped. PS: I've never used the timer on the mirrorless, though I can see it's value. I have used it on the cell.

What did you first start using it with? For me I first wanted one for beans, beans, beans. Now I make all kinds of yummies.
DeleteI was brought up on pressure cooking. Mum was busy working full time and so meals had to be prepared quickly. In those days everything was cooked from scratch and so most meals were either pressured or slow cooked in the oven as a casserole. Then as an adult I was introduced to a microwave, not that I used it for cooking, just warming I guess. Next came the wok and I love a good stir fry but lately it has been an air fryer that has come to resided in my kitchen. Not that I am silly enough to use it for everything, just certain meals. But out comes my pressure cooker when I am doing a roast dinner, so easy to use and can do so much within it.

Hey Neet. I don't think it's silly to use an air fryer for everything. It's just a fan oven. A smaller oven. Works great. I no longer have one per se. I've moved to an air fryer lid. And that lid is a small oven with fan that then goes on top of pots, pans and bake dishes. I LOOOOOVE it.
DeleteSame. I come from scratch kitchens as well and mostly my kitchen is scratch even today. Though I will make noodles I will also buy them boxed. Same with salsa. I will make it, and also buy one brand that I like at Aldi.
I don't own a ding, ding machine (microwave). I remember when they came out and were a big deal. My mom was amazed a baked potato could be made in one (having herself, come from a fully scratch kitchen where spuds took a looonnnnnnng time in the oven).
Tray bakes and casseroles are great fun even today. Just a fun thing to put in oven, air fryer and electric pressure cooker. Really fun to have it all in one. I don't think those will every go away. They are useful easy meals for folks to toss together. And yummy!
I've done bread pudding in the air fryer and it works soooo good. In the oven and pressure cookers are fun too. So many ways to play!
When I said I thought it silly to use an air fryer for EVERYTHING I was referring to seeing people making a cup of tea/coffee in it and it only taking 30 minutes. xx
