GOODBYE LIVING ROOM - HELLO WOOD SHOPPE

Guess what I'm doing this week? If you guessed ripping apart our broken down couch and taking it to the dump, followed by turning our living room into a temporary wood shoppe, then ding, ding, ding. You win three paper clips, two balls of wax and one shoe.

Carrot greens from my last post and the celery (that I didn't post). Both grown in water, soon to transfer the carrot tops to the yellow tins that I painted earlier this morning.

And that my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print. I'm going back outside to enjoy the sunny shine day, crank the ear buds and mow two lawns.

Cheers and boogie boogie. Whisk, out.

    1. Hi Alex! Yeppers. For the eating. Excited. We have a nice size flat screen that will stay off to the side and be protected when working on the wood. Then if we want to watch it, we still can.

    1. Not right now. For now, it's going to be a wood shopped because we have so much snow, rain, hail and more snow that I can't get enough raised beds made outside. But once all that is done, I'll likely make a small couch for us to use. Not for sure yet. But I think building a bench of sorts would be fun. How's it there? Snow too? Loved the chart. The bra one cracked me up. Thanks, Christine.

    1. Hey Theresa! To be honest, this is all the stuff that I did before the virus and will still do after. Back in 2016 I decluttered and got rid of 95 percent of my stuff and after that, hubby bought me my first set of power tools and I started building stuff. It was like getting rid of so much stuff, gave me room for new hobbies.

Thank you for your comment about lifestyle blogging. I don't know if I told you already but it's helped me think more about my blog. And you and Tim are both right. It is food but also stuff that I'm doing. So thank you to you both. Also, you do your posts well. I appreciate the time and work you put into them.

    2. Awe, thank you for your lovely blogging comments. I am sorely lacking on keeping up with blogging this year, but hope to get back into it a bit more by summer. I think I'm just now heading to where you were in 2016. I got rid of so many things, just dumped a bunch of money on power tools, and want to start crafting/woodworking soon. I've been pinning a lot of furniture restorations on Pinterest for when thrift stores reopen. I think that's something I would like to try my hand at next. I can't wait to see more of what you are working on. That's the thing I love about blogging. We can all draw so much inspiration from each other's posts :)

    3. Hey Theresa! Very cool on the decluttering. Are you enjoying it? I loved it and was lucky at the time to just do that straight through.

I've been away from blogging for awhile and recently got back. So I get that for sure.

Power tools, woohoo. What did you get? Pinterest is still new to me. I haven't pinned yet but started an account. I like that space because it's a nice search engine. So much to see and find.

Me too on the blogging. I really love the sharing of ideas and fun.

    4. I am so enjoying the decluttering bit. I felt a little sad getting rid of all of the outdoor holiday decorations, but the kids are no longer little and they just don't care if we have yard displays anymore. No point holding onto large items that we only use a few weeks out of the year. I do love that I can find things much easier in my kitchen and closets though!

Power tools- lots of sanders, a bandsaw, drills... I will be purchasing a lathe soon too. Hopefully I'll have the garage set up to start using it all by this weekend.

Yes, I turn to Pinterest more than Google these days because it's a lovely little search engine. It's almost an addiction LOL

      Delete
    5. So great to read this comment. Isn't it amazing how much easier it is to find stuff? It's mind-blowing.

Woohoo on the sander, me too. Haven't used a bandsaw yet. Very nice. Drills, yes please. I love those. I think I want a jig saw. I'd love a table saw but no real place for that right now. But at least with a little jig saw, I can make some fun cuts. Love that you can use your garage as a shoppe. Fun!

I'm learning about Pinterest. I joined you there but I have not started to post or really dig in yet but I fancy that search engine. And I like the crafts. That's just so fun.

    1. Hi Linda! Loved seeing all your flowers.

My bad for not explaining what I did. I should have done that. Thank you for asking. What I did for the celery was chopped off that bottom part. and stuck that into water.

The carrots, from what I understand (and I'm not sure about this b/c I'm still learning), but from what I understand, just the greens will grow. I'll put these in dirt and they are supposed to be able to live indoors and we can eat off of them.

Again though, I'm not sure. I'm learning but what I'll do is next post, I'll show better the pictures so you guys can see. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Thank you on the anniversary wishes.

    1. Hi Sandy!

Right now it's all about raised beds (no bottoms) for the garden and some smaller garden boxes (with bottoms). We'll get the living room back after some reno stuff is done though. I think that's the plan.

Do you ever get the pine nuts out of the cones? I've not done that yet but it's on my To Try List. Thanks for the visit and boogie boogie.

      Delete
    2. No but now you gave me an idea - pine nuts. because they are expensive at Costco .... I totally love the idea of raised beds. My old son a few years back bought a five acre property about an hour outside of seattle. What they have done with their garden is amazing1 Raised beds galore - fruit trees ... they recently added a big beautiful greenhouse. so i think its' exciting whenever someone has the opportunity to create a garden.
