Hello Boogerbutts!
This is my new laundry space and I love it. For those of you who don't already know, back in 2016 I did what Norma dubbed, The Great Declutter of 2016 - in which I ditched 95 percent of my stuff. Including cupboards that were too high and/or that I just hated.
And, since I won't be around Friday, let's toss in a WHAT AM I? Tell us what this is and win the prize of your choice.
That's right. This is a once in a blogtime offer. Pick your own prize. Dead bugs, rotten pickles and toe nail clippings are still available upon request.
WHAT AM I?
Your mystery item looks like a cinnamon swirl. Mmmm cinnamon.
ReplyDeleteNeed a tad more cinnamon and sugar but overall, not too bad. Thanks for playing!
DeleteI agree with EC, cinnamon swirls, or as I call them cinnamon scrolls.
ReplyDeleteLove that you call them cinnamon scrolls. Super fun name.
DeleteCinnamon roll for sure! I'll take a personal, in-home, all-day air-fryer demonstration.
ReplyDeleteYour laundry room is big.
I would do that prize in a second!
DeleteLaundry room is in the hall of the trailer. Feels much better now that I have the right shelf in there.
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed your videos! Cinnamon bun is the mystery item?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marie. I enjoy your photos! Cinnamon bun it is and not a dead bug prize in sight, as no one opted for such. I'm shocked of course, that nobody wants a gross prize.
DeleteCool laundry/mud room. Glad it works for you.
ReplyDeleteI guess cinnamon roll-like thingy for the mystery item.
Ding, ding, ding. You win!
DeleteOh yeah, I'm all about what works for us. And I LOVE folding socks now. Which is one thing that I used to hate. Turns out, I just needed a bench.
Happy House Building to you!
Glad your laundry/mud room makes you do a happy dance! And I want a bite of that cinnamon roll!
ReplyDeleteI do a little boogie, each time I fold something. Teleporting you cinnamon rolls in 3... 2... 1...
DeleteShe said "ass". He, he, he. I'm guessing cinnamon roll.
ReplyDeletelololol. I caught that I said that after I shot it and eh, just kept it in. Cinnamon roll for the win!
DeleteCinnamon buns! :) Nice video...I'm just like you, function is more important than the way something looks. We have what looks like a huge house, but it's built very wonky and we barely have space for our things...it has to be functional. It's a rental though, we'll be moving next year hopefully. Your deck looks great, as soon as the weather gets warmer, I live the "porch life"!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rian. Yes, function so important. I get that from my grandma. Where did you get yours from?
DeleteDo you like to sit outside a lot? We do. The deck also opens at the kitchen. Nice and big. We own our trailer but rent the land. We'd like to own our land though.
Moving near your current home, next year or venturing further out?
Well, we are in northern Quebec...moving to the Maritimes, likely Nova Scotia, I cannot wait!!! We're hoping to buy but if we can't get it together by next February, we'll still move and rent one more year.
DeleteI think I got my function obsession from managing depression actually! I had a bad burnout in 2003 and finally felt better in 2012 or so, after that I needed routine and function just to keep the anxiety down. :)
I LIVE outside from May through to October!!! :) I love the summer! I built my own screened-in porch last summer and that's my space. My boyfriend Alex screened in the upstairs balcony and hung his hammock there and that's his space. :)
Screen-in is a great idea we get so many bugs here. I hadn't thought of doing that before you mentioned it.
DeleteVery cool that you gained such a valuable tool as function, during a darker time. I love that. Says a lot about your spirit.
We are outside back deck people. Tim and I bring our kitchen table out there to write and listen to music. Then I have a small cafe table that stays out all the time.
Great fun, this thing called nature!
I think I see a cinnamon bun!
ReplyDeleteDing, ding, ding! You win the prize of your choice. Thanks, Christine!
DeleteThe laundry room looks great!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Holly. So much better than that other shelf. Never dawned on my to part the washer and dryer and just have that wide space for folding!
DeleteI wouldn't have known what it was, but cinnamon roll sounds about right. I know you are happy with your hallway, laundry/mud room so if it suits you that's all that matters, right?
ReplyDeleteCinnamon roll for the win. The prize of you choice, today.
DeleteYes, we are of the thinking that a home should fit us, the owners. And having high cupboards just didn't fit.
Thanks for watching, Jo!
I think it's a cinnamon swirl too. Or a close up of my knee. How did you get that??
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, your knee.
DeleteCinnamon swirl for the win! No gross prizes this week. Unless, someone wants chocolate covered fire ants?
Cinnamon swirl, it must be.
ReplyDeleteYou win! Thanks, William.
DeleteWay late in the game, but I'm going with cinnamon roll as well! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteSo many winners this time.
DeleteI'll have to make it harder next week. Thanks, Jenn. Happy Mid-Week!
I thought 'cinnamon roll' as soon as I saw the image and then scrolled down to see that just about everyone said the same thing. So now it's hard to say I though of it when I'm so late in the game. Looks like I'm cheating :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are happy with your work space. My number one requirement is minimalism. If a place is overly cluttered, I go mad! LOL
You were right, Martha. You win the prize of your choice.
DeleteSo happy with the now mud room area. I've tried it many ways and then I put the baker's rack in, moved the washer to the left and bam, happy dance, as I fold.
Have you gotten your spaces the way you fancy in the new home? Took me awhile to get the laundry/mud room because I was using a different shelf that just didn't work.
Nice laundry room , can not wait to see what color you paint it.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Hey Gayle. Going with a pure simple white, pretty much for the entire trailer... Except for the bedroom which is breadbox green.
DeleteI have no plan on my laudary room, at this time. But who knows when or what I will do with laundry room.
ReplyDeleteI guess I will say it cinnamon roll.
Coffee is on
Cinnamon roll for the win!
DeleteDo you like to fold in your laundry room. I used to hate it but now I love it.
Cinnamon how do you roll?
ReplyDeleteHahah, I love your answer.
DeleteYou win the prize of your choice.
MMmm I've made homemade cinnamon rolls so I'm sure that's what that is. It's funny that cinnamon tastes so good in recipes but not if you try to taste it by itself.
ReplyDeleteHey Mary! You win!
DeleteHave you seen that crazy cinnamon challenge where people put a spoonful of ground cinnamon in their mouths?
I'm going to go with some sort of cinnamon roll. You got rid of 95% of your stuff - very impressive :-)
ReplyDeleteYou win! Cinnamon rolls they were. Yummy too. Yes, back in 2016 I went through every single ding dong thing that I owned.
DeleteJust to be different . . . I think the mystery object is air-fried ham and eggs!!! Just kidding, of course, and please don't give me a booby prize; the regular prizes are bad enough :D
ReplyDeleteIt is so lovely to have a place to fold laundry, isn't it? We have an old kitchen table beside our dryer. Function is important to me as well. In everything. Convenience saves so much time and energy and frustration. Well done, you! (and I laughed at Granny Annie's comment :))
Hey Jenny! You win. And this week, everyone gets to pick their own prizes. Once-in-a-blogtime offer!
DeleteConveniences, yes, it's a huge thing and practical too. For me, I don't want to have a bunch of cupboards that I cannot reach.
Life is too short for that bullcrap on toast.
Your new space looks great! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI want a bite of that cinnamon roll, please!!
I'll teleport you an entire tray bake! Thanks. Loving the new space. After many, many tries. This one feels the best.
DeleteGlad you have such a useful space you love! The cinnamon roll does look good--that should be the prize for guessing!
ReplyDeleteHello Bethany!Took me awhile to get the laundry mud room to work but now I flippin' love it. Thanks for stopping by today. How goes the writing?
DeleteMmmm...cinnamon swirls!
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on my decluttering effort....
You win, Norma. The price of your choice. No bugs. Unless you want some. I have plenty. Chocolate covered.
DeleteYou've had a crap load on your plate with your health stuff. Not easy to deal with. Hard to declutter and handle the rest, I think.
Nice to be reminded of the Great Declutter.
ReplyDeleteI thought a swiss roll thing but it is obvs. a cinnamon bun, hurray! And I've also learned how to spell cinnamon, two n's and one m.
Ahhh, good times. Happy to report NONE of it has grown back. That's pretty darn cool. Cinnamon is one of those words that I sometimes leave out the second n. Or add too many m's. Sometimes I just write, cinnnanananananamon.
DeleteYou are a close up of the cinnamon swirls found in a cinnamon or some such pastry. Looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your writing!
DeleteReal close up of a cinny roll....
ReplyDeleteYour pie looked gooooooood.
DeleteWonderful cinnamon swirls ...
ReplyDeleteIsn't cinnamon so good.
Have a great Friday and weekend too.
All the best Jan
Very good and excellent for lowering and balancing blood sugar, too boot. Have a wonderful weekend, Jan. Love that you were Barbie. So fun!
DeleteHi Ivy,
ReplyDeleteI admire your confidence, miss your honesty and creativity in your posts. My husband and I spent time this summer in Canada. What an amazing place. I'm thinking some kind of pastry like everyone else. Hope all is well!!
