MACRO MONDAY - MONSTERS INC.
I found Monster Inc. minis at Five Below. Super small. Super fun. Five smackers for a box of six characters and other bits and bobs.
Below I posted the BTS and what's nice about behind the scene stuff is I get to show you how I use inverse square law to create a black background. Inverse square law is the rate at which light falls off.
In short, when my camera is set at maximum sync speed, the off-camera flash can't reach beyond the monsters, making the background look black - which also works with the DIY black photography board I placed the monsters on.
Pretty cool.
In other news, last week I bought a cheap stick blender and after a few days of playing with it, Smoochie Face ordered me a Bamix. The Bamix stick blender comes with useful accessories and four different blades.
I have a long list of things to make on Tuesday and plan to spend the entire day in the kitchen writing, testing and playing.
Beyond excited.
Beyond.
And that my Boogerbutts is Macro Monday for this week. If you'd like to join me in close-up photography and macros, I'd love to see your photos.
Until next time, cheers and boogie boogie.

MACRO MONDAY - MS. MARBLES SAYS HELLO
I'm kickin' off the week with a Macro Monday & Close-Up Photography, post. Some Mondays I'll have words, other Mondays no words and then I'm sure I'll skip a few Monday as well. Anyone who wants to join in, I'd love to see your photos.
Today's guest is Ms. Marbles. She's a marbled orb weaver and likes to hide under leaves, often attached by a single silk. She also likes to hide under other things and lemme tell you, Ms. Marbles is fast.
Even Spider-Man would have a hard time keeping up with her.
In this photo Ms. Marbles is moving and I'm squatted nearby. My jeans are soaked because it's a soggy day. Not a complaint. There's something about close-up photography that when I'm in the wild, I forget that it's cold, wet and soggy out.
I love that.
In other news, it's a 3-day week for us, moving into a 4-day weekend. Hot dog and happy dance.
And in other, other news, I got lemons a month ago, submerged them in water and stored them in the fridge. And guess what?
If you guessed that weeks later the lemons are in perfect condition, then you win three broken Christmas balls, two rotten eyeballs and a purple toothpick I found in my couch.
You're welcome.
