Thanks for yesterday's comments. I rested up, but good.
Today, I'm back in my lab. I'm thinking something with lemon. Or maybe orange. Ohhh, apple. Apple sounds nice. Maybe a little square apple cake, layered with vanilla frosting in the middle, and some kind of crumble topping.
Not sure yet which bake I'll do, but I did have a lot of time to come up with formulas as I rested all ding dong day long.
Here's what I did last week, using my Babycakes Cupcake Maker (that Tim bought for $5). It's a frosted brownie, in the shape of a mini cupcake. Tim said to me, "You're like a mad scientist. Only with rainbows and cupcakes."
Rainbows, cupcakes, and sprinkles. (Even though there's no sprinkles there. It just sounds good.)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're better!
Thanks, Alex.
DeleteOk now you have my sweet tooth in overdrive this morning. I want cupcakes!! And maybe a pie. And maybe some ice cream to top it all off.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember if I asked if you baked or not?
DeleteThat apple cake you describe sounds delicious. You serving coffee with that?
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better! :)
Sure am. We have tea, as well.
DeleteIt's good your feeling better, better that you are baking :-)
ReplyDeleteIan
Thanks bunches.
DeleteHehehe...yes, like a mad scientist. But a happy, good-creating mad scientist. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. Resting does wonders for us. I'm catching up on blogs early today because I'm getting ready to head out. I was going to work in the garden, but I've decided to visit the garden centers to see if I can get a couple of nice new plants, and pick up some groceries (get them out of the way). Tomorrow is supposed to be really nice, so I'll dedicate that entirely to the garden. Have a great day, wonder woman! That brownie looks AMAZING! And that square apple cake with frosting and crumble topping makes my mouth water. YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteDid you find some goodies at the garden center? Hope you got your marketing done. I'm done for the most part, but there are few things that end sale tomorrow, that I might run out and get.
DeleteThen again, I may just stay in. I'm groggy today.
You're MY kind of mad scientist :)
ReplyDeleteIf we lived in the same town, I'd be sending stuff over for you to taste test.
Deletepeople do love brownies....
ReplyDeleteHow do you like yours? Tim likes his with a little crunch on the outside but then soft on the inside.
DeleteTim hit the nail on the head! Maybe we should call you "Dr Whisk."
ReplyDeleteHe made me laugh with that one.
DeleteYour kind of mad science could save the world, not destroy it!
ReplyDeleteSaving the world, one cupcake at a time.
DeleteGlad that you were able to rest. I hope you're feeling better. Chocolate is my weakness but that apple cake you were describing has my mouth watering. Happy baking.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you like best? Dark chocolate? Milk?
DeleteApple cake sounds good!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get to put it together yet. Might take a few tries but I have the finished idea in my head.
DeleteHope you are feeling better!! The brownie looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank, Kris.
DeleteYummy!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
Cheers and boogie boogie to you. Hope you have a killer good weekend.
DeleteI'd go with apples!
ReplyDeleteThat is Tim's vote, as well.
