How is it Monday?

How is it Monday?  The staycation flew by.  Though the end of it didn't go all that great (see yesterday's post), the start of it was sure fun.  So much fun, that I want to incorporate more of that staycation feel, into our daily routine.

I say that every year, and for a little while it works, but before I know it, it's next year already and we're ripping the phone out of the wall and bolting the windows shut.

But today, the phones go back on, breakfast has been served and I'm about to prep for this week's coupon haul.  After that, I get cracked and have to rest for a wee bit.

Then if all goes well, off to the Big K to spend $25 in FREE money (rewards), only to have them put another $20 right back on my rewards card.

Zero OOP for me, and useful freebies for the house.  All in all, a good way to start a week.  Speaking of which, there's breakfast dishes that need done.  So best get to it.

Cheers and boogie boogie.

  2. Mondays aren't so bad for you anymore, though, are they? They certainly aren't for me. Heck, I almost love them now. Almost. :)

    Have fun shopping!

    1. It's still a work day though today I have to get cracked. Otherwise, I'd be in my prep clothes writing food, cooking, testing, baking, writing. You would not enjoy this kind of Monday.

But it's funny, even though I don't work outside of the home, there's still a clear line from weekend to work day. Which suits me well.

Thanks, I will. $25 in FREE money. I'm thrilled. Happy reading to you and boogie boogie.

    1. Hahahaha. I remembered as soon as that darn alarm went off and I drug my sorry ass to the kitchen.

Hope your day is killer good. Cheers and boogie boogie.

    1. Yep, right back on my rewards, which is a key card with their money on it. Not too shabby.

      Do you have Kmarts?

    2. We had Kmart when I was a kid, but they left in the 90s. We used to have a similar store called Zellers, but they all closed last year. We really don't have many stores like that...just Walmart. There are some Targets here too, but our closest one is an hour drive away. However I can leave the driveway and drive 15 minutes either direction and I could be at a Walmart. I think they won here.

    3. Yeah, Wally Worlds, they've infected so many areas. I'm not a fan of how the new generation of owners treat their workers. Especially at the local store. But ... sometimes I do get good deals there. Not as much so now that I coupon.

Anyway, we did find my new waffle iron at Target, and my pots. But Target is weird. Sometimes they have good deals and other times, they're over-priced.

If you're interested, Target offers their own coupons online, plus they can be stacked with manufacture coupons and sales.

Hope you're getting lots of fresh air today. I'm headed for another cuppa and more coupon clipping.

      Cheers and boogie boogie.

    4. Yes, Wally's up here are similar. They just did a big round of layoffs up here. I actively didn't shop there for the longest time but then there were less and less options.

Ya the Canadian Target has coupons on their site too. Right now it is just too far to travel to get to it. I went there once and everything was overpriced so I haven't made my way back.

  9. stay-cations always seem really quick

  10. Staycations and vacations always fly by! Someone had a banner that read "The first five days after the weekend are always the hardest." How true is that?! We all wish our lives away, living for weekends and vacations!

    1. Good gosh, no, I don't wish my days away. I love to get up and write. But I do wish for my husband to have less stress at work, and for us to have more staycation during the work-week.

  11. Staycations are a lot of fun, but they seem to zip right by! Ours won't be until early August; definitely looking forward to that. I hope your day was good. I spent it in the garden. Stepped outside at 8:00 AM and didn't come back in until 4 PM (aside from having lunch with hubby). I am done, done, done... But I got tons of work completed. The garden is really looking nice. Yesterday morning, I snuck over to the garden center while everyone was sleeping, and picked up some veggies, which I planted today. Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, onions, strawberries... I hope they grow! I haven't tried growing veggies for awhile. I'm a flower pro, but my experience in growing food is limited. Tomorrow, if the weather is okay, I'll head back to the garden center for more veggies. Hope you got lots of good stuff with your coupons! Wishing you a good night! I'm off for TV time and popcorn with hubby. It's his turn to make it!

    1. Best comment, ever. Loved hearing about your day. Very cool on the veggies. So fun to grow them at home. And wow, wow, wow, sounds like you had a killer day. Love that.

I did get freebies. Taking pictures right after this. Thanks, my day was good. I rested in the movie room until about noonish, watching The Nanny on DVD, clipping coupons with my little legs up. Was nice.

Enjoy your movie and boogie boogie.
