So here's how it went down. We went to the pound and saw her, then I went back without Tim and asked to see her in the pound yard. I sat on the ground and she came barreling and I do mean barreling toward me and gave me a hug. Did a puppy flip. Gave me another puppy hug. Dashed over to other side of the yard. Peed the longest pee in the history of ever and then charged back my way, almost knocked me down (I was on the ground already, but she almost sent be all the way over). Gave me third puppy hug. I paid for her on the spot and brought her home.
I remember, she didn't know how to use stairs or jump in the car and ... they told me that she had a brother and sister but nobody wanted Wiggy because she wiggled too much.
She wiggled too much? Seriously?
Also, I LOVE this photo. I shot it from my phone back in 2016 right after The Great Declutter and removal of 95 percent of my stuff. The room was bare and simple and this shot just puts all that together.
In garden news, I haven't done ANYTHING. Not a thing. Hope to fix that this weekend. But, in other news, I've been cooking and baking my butt off. Writing food and filming in the new studio area and guess what?
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!
LOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!
Today's foodie offers are: Spicy Onion Relish (or chutney) and it's so flippin' good. I've been eating it non-stop. I love it. And the last video is Air-Fry Pizza. The BEST reheat ever. No soggy bottoms. I put the relish on the pizza and it's a slice of heaven. Get it, slice. Pizza. What? No good? Not funny? I'm honestly giggling as I type this. I crack myself up.
And that my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print. See you next Wednesday with Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Brownies and photos of the front porch.
Cheers and boogie boogie!
Wiggy's Gotcha Day 9 Years Ago |
The relish sounds good. And would probably go really well in a baked potato (or sweet potato).
ReplyDeleteAnd hooray for rescue day. We rescue them, they rescue us. Win/win.
Hi Sue! We call it her Gotcha Day in the sense that it's her adopted birthday as we really don't know her real birthday. Only a guess. But I agree with you, it's always a win, win, win, win.
DeleteThe food looks fantastic, but the star of the show is your gorgeous Wiggy, what a cutie! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie! Wiggy is the star. She's just too cute. Although, she just got inside, covered in dirt from digging. She's passed out now. Tough morning of digging and barking. Ha! Hugs, back. How's things by your end today? Eating anything fun?
DeleteWiggled too much? Who wants a puppy that doesn't wiggle? Wiggy was meant to be a part of your family.
ReplyDeleteYep. That's what they said after I paid for her. She wiggled too much and that made people nervous. Okay ... odd but okay. All the better as she was meant to be here. Happy Almost Summer, Alex.
DeleteHappy Gotcha Day, Wiggy, sending love from my fur-babies (Alice & Barney)... both of who enjoy a mighty wiggle :)
ReplyDeleteHi Tim! Much thanks. Love and hugs back to Alice and Barney from Wiggy and Bug. Pets are the best!
DeleteWiggy has captured my HEART! I love the photo as much as you do... and the day you got her, the crate puppy just melts my heart. I love to hug BIG puupies of course I love to hug Big Dogs.. I also think her name is perfect and priceless. Big Boy was over 6 years old when we got him at the shelter, he climbed his 65 pound self into my lap when i sat on a bench and that was IT.... I don't eat onions but my mother and my husabnd would love the onion stuff.. I do eat pizza and i do want an air fryer. I LOVE YOUR HEADER
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra! Thank you about the header. I just saw your post this morning and the sticky note cracked me up. Loved it.
DeleteI love that you adopted a 6 year old. That's so wonderful. Wiggy was maybe 3 or 4 months. Hahahaha. That's what Wiggy does too. Same as Big Boy. Just thinks she's a lap dog and she's for sure not. So funny.
Oh my gosh, air fryers are so much fun. This Christmas marked two years and I love it. Though my Cook's Essential died at the two year mark and my DeLonghi died after a month and then was replaced. No problems since. But air fryers are super useful. No heating the house. Bake in them. Everything.
You were meant to be Wiggy's Mama! Happy Gotcha Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacy! I agree. She was meant to be here.
DeleteI love your Wiggy story. She knew you were meant to be her human! Spicy Onion Relish looks good too.
ReplyDeleteHi Leigh. I copied down your Ranch and after my dill dressing is gone, your ranch with my non-dairy sauce is on the to To-Make list. Much, much thanks.
DeleteI agree, Wiggy was meant to be here. She's a lot of fun. Very goofy dog.
The longest pee ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe have an air fryer, too, let´s see about the next pizza left-overs!
I just opened a jar of onion-thyme-jam, yum!
Hi Iris! I just read about your Aldi trip. Oh my gosh. That's horrible. I wish I could teleport you to our store as they are very friendly and no yelling. Clean store. Good store. I am sorry to read that yours was so horrible.
DeleteOnions and thyme jam! That sounds yummy! Air fryer for the win with leftover pizza. Please let me know how you like it. Cheers and boogie boogie.
PS: It really was the longest pee. Hahahaha.
Happy Wiggy Day! The food looks good.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine! Hope you slept better last night. Thanks for the visit!
DeleteWhat sweet pictures of wiggly! And does she still wiggle? I love your story of her adoption!
ReplyDeleteHey Ginny. She does! Always. She is a giant goof ball. Boogies to the songs she likes, too. She's a hoot. Thank you.
DeleteHappy Wiggy Day! Rescue dogs are the best, aren't they? I had a pug named Wrigley and I thought that was what you named your pooch at first glance. But Wiggy sounds more fitting LOL! The relish looks ahmazing! I haven't used my air fryer for pizza reheating, but now I'll have to dig it out and try it next time we have pizza. Nom!
ReplyDeleteWrigley is such a cute name too. Naming dogs is fun. Other other one is called Bug. Wiggy and Bug. Groovy on digging out the air fryer for pizza reheat. We really love it. Thanks for stopping by. Hope the extra garden boxes are coming along. Sadly, I've still not made it back outside but I'm shooting for the weekend.
DeleteWe had a little setback on building things for the garden. However, my tomato plants are coming along nicely. I wasn't sure how I'd do gardening from kitchen scraps, but my oh my, those babies are finally sprouting. I should be able to transfer them to my garden in a few more weeks. I am stoked I didn't waste money at the nursery on tomato plants this year!
DeleteGood luck getting out there and getting your boxes done this weekend. It's supposed to be nice weather this weekend here, so perfect for building things in the garage.
Hey Theresa! I love that your tomatoes are coming along nicely. I love that. Kitchen scraps for the win. So fun. I love that you saved money. I have more grape tomatoes, I will have to try. I also have seeds that we bought but from home is too fun.
DeleteThanks. I still haven't gotten outside. Just been working long hours. Soon though.
I hope you are having a glorious time outdoors today and getting lots done. I finally got all of my bushes trimmed and the dead branches cut off my trees yesterday. A lot of work, but very rewarding.
DeleteLet me know how your plants do if you try gardening from tomato scraps. I am just blown away that it actually worked for me as I tend to kill most seedlings lol.
Thanks. The carrot tops and celery were fun to do indoors. Same with the garlic chives.
DeleteDid you put your tomato seeds in wet or let them dry first? I have seeds that I bought but never made it outside yesterday. Had a super chill fun day inside cleaning.
Very cool that your grape tomatoes worked!
How lucky are you to have Wiggy and how lucky is she to have you?? So darn cute.
ReplyDeleteThe relish looks amazing....and no one has time for soggy bottom pizza. NO ONE! ;)
Hey Suz! No soggy bottoms! Woohoo! Thanks about the relish. I really love it. So simple. Very lucky. She was meant to be.
DeleteWiggy is one lucky pup to have found her Forever Home with you two!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra. She's a keeper for sure.
DeleteHappy Happy Gotcha Day. Wiggy is so beautiful. hat a great life she has.
ReplyDeleteI will try the Onion Relish sounds good.
parsnip
Hi Gayle. Thank you so much. Pups are the best. I'm enjoying the videos you post of yours.
DeleteThank You !
Delete❤️
DeleteHappy Gotcha Day Wiggy. You're a cutie.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann. Thank you so much. We love her to bits.
DeleteWiggy's Gotcha Day … a very special day indeed.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs.
All the best Jan
PS Food looks great
Hi Jan. You know, if onions are too much sugar, pickled swede/rutabaga would be lovely. I'm thinking that crunch would be wonderful.
DeleteWe always celebrate our grand-dog’s birthday. How fortunate you were to select such a great pup.
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool, Marie. Pups are great fun. Thank you. Happy Weekend.
DeleteSuch a cute picture! Happy Gotcha Day
ReplyDeleteMuch, much thanks, Bob! Happy Weekend.
DeleteI love that adorable picture of Wiggy on the bed AND I love the story of how you got her! It is obvious she knew you were her Mama and you all were meant to be together. I will never forget when we adopted our two cats from the shelter. I absolutely felt like a new mother bringing my babies home from the hospital.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! Thank you. I enjoyed writing it. Made me smile all over again. That was a good day. So cool that you got your cats at the pound as well. So many good animals just waiting for a home.
DeleteAwww, Wiggy is beautiful. I love that she came barreling towards you in the puppy yard all those years ago. I've heard it said often, don't choose the puppy, let the puppy choose you, and she certainly did! That's how we got our Max back in 1987, he was the one from the litter that kept climbing back into my lap. I miss him.
ReplyDeleteHi River. She came barreling like a crazy little dog and I will never ever, not ever, forget that day. Tim says the same as you. He says, the dogs pick us. I agree! I am sorry to read that Max is gone. I love that he kept climbing back into your lap. That is a good story. Thank you for sharing it with me.
DeleteHappy Gotcha Day, Wiggy! You're right, no such thing as too many wiggles. I'm glad she has you guys as her forever home.
ReplyDeleteElsie
HiYa Girl. No such thing as too many wiggles. Oh my gosh. So silly. How goes podcasting? I left for awhile. Not sure when I'll be back. Focusing more on my food right now. You still enjoying it?
DeleteHappy Gotcha Day to Wiggy! She is wonderful. And you're wonderful. And so these two forces of wonder came together :)
ReplyDeleteHi Martha! Thank you for the wonderful comment. You made me smile.
DeleteThat is a face to love!
ReplyDeleteHey Jeanie. I love that face too. Was a good day. Thanks for stopping in. Happy Weekend.
DeleteWiggy was so tiny! She adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly. We love her to bits. Even when she knocks over the garbage can in the kitchen to see what's inside. Those paws of hers, one push and the rubbish bin is tossed over.
Deletethat was so fun reading about your dog and how you came to have her in your life. And onion chutney...yum. sounds good. Pizza reheated in an air fryer ..I never ever thought of that.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy! So nice to reheat it in the air fryer. Not a soggy bottom in sight. Thank you for reading our little story. It was a good day indeed.
DeleteI really miss having a dog Ivy. I envy you your acquisition of Wiggy. We love it when ladydog brings her Zoey over but of course that hasn't happened in a while. I have contemplated getting a dog and then hiring a dog walker but I don't think that would work somehow. Of course you and Tim could move LOL
ReplyDeleteI do often wish we lived closer. I would walk your dog for you for sure. I love that ladydog brings Zoey over. Here's the things getting back to normal so she can bring Zoey over again soon.
DeleteWiggy is so lovely, and kudos for giving up lots of much deserved props. Yay to that spicy relish too! Air Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteHi RO - Thank you. We love Wiggy to bits. Air hugs back! Happy Weekend, too.
DeleteAwww such a little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary. Thank you. She really is a sweetie. So fun. Happy Weekend to you guys.
DeleteWiggly would be a blessing in anyone home. So glad she in your home.
ReplyDeleteThanks. We love her to bits.
DeleteHi Ivy!! :))) I'm finally online and able to visit! Oh I have catching up to do. I haven't done squat in my garden and it looks like I may not have one this year, way too much to do! Wiggy is adorable!! xx
ReplyDeleteWoohooooooooo!!!! Very, very cool Rain. I'm excited for you and Alex.
DeleteI love Wiggy, she's gorgeous, I can see why you chose her, and her you. Love the way you write. Looking forward to the peanut butter choc chip brownies. Pizza is a favourite, but they're supermarket ones, I'm too lazy to make them!
ReplyDeleteHi Polly. Much, much thanks on the writing comment. Pizza is fun. Store-bought, homemade, pizza shoppe, it's all good eats!
DeleteHappy Gotcha Day what a sweetie Wiggy is. we have always had fur family members-we love them so much. we lost our beloved Nikita quite awhile ago we were so devastated we chose to not get another, last year we lost our kitty but she was 20 years old or more. we are in our 70s now so decided not to get another pet-they add so much joy though. Your foods sound delicious-
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you are without your Nikita and your cat. We still miss our older dog too. Peanut was her name. They are remembered forever, to us anyway. Thank you for stopping by today.
DeleteYes always in our hearts
Delete❤️
DeleteWiggy wiggy 💜 absolutely no way there can be too much wiggling as far as doggies go HW, it's their way of showing how happy they are and who doesn't love that 😉 I'm a big fan of hot relishes, will definitely give this a go.. on 🍕
ReplyDeleteThat's what we said too. Wiggle too much? Whhhhaaat? Just saw your Super Nurse photo. Very, very cool shot. I'm digging it.
