My tastebuds have recently changed. I no longer like cream cheese or my once favorite, vanilla coffee. Even my own bagels, once frozen and reheated, taste of glue. Yuck.
Instead, I enjoy baked bone marrow with garlic. Another new one for me is wild sardines (cold or cooked). Now I'm thinking of ways to incorporate both yummy treats into different meals.
How about you? Any new tastebud changes? Do you eat sardines? How about bone marrow with garlic?
Do tell. Do tell.
Don't eat either. In fact, I've never heard of eating bone marrow.
ReplyDeleteThere are certain vegetables I used to despise, like mushrooms, that I enjoy now. I still say Brussels sprouts are disgusting though.
Sure can. Nose to tail eating. Good stuff if you can stomach it.
DeleteMushrooms is one of those things I hear people love or hate. I wonder if it's the taste or texture.
I never met a vedge I didn't like, ever.
Ewwwww!
ReplyDeleteMy dad loved sardines. I left the room whenever he ate them.
Hope you get that robot stuff worked out. As I say, I never fill in any of those boxes or check the robot and my comments go right through.
DeleteHappy Weekend.
Neither of those delicacies tempt me. You can have my share!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will gobble them up for you. Num, num, num.
DeleteI do like sardines but have not had them in many years. Anchovies are also good, but I don't like to overpower a pizza with them.
ReplyDeleteI had coupons for the anchovies but the store didn't have them. They are on my To Try List.
DeleteHow did you like your sardines?
I generally and have always liked just about everything, except when I was pregnant. Ivy?
ReplyDeleteEverything? Nothing you find that you didn't like and now do? Or the other way about?
Deleteok maybe kidneys.
Deleteoh sorry I still don't like kidneys.
DeleteYou cracked me up with that still not liking them.
DeleteWhen I was a kid, for lunch I would always want bologna and mustard. I haven't had that in years.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one. When I first started to eat meat, I tried bologna. Too salty for my buds but I did enjoy it fried.
DeleteI don't even know what bone marrows looks like, haven't seen that sold in store around here. Just the thought of it made me want to rinse my mouth... so NO never had, never will have bone marrow. It doesn't made me judge the one that like it, it made me question their childhood LOL
ReplyDeleteFor sardine, I think it's fine... in the can!
Meat markets and butchers here sell the bones along with suet. We've got lots and lots of meat and bone fans in my area.
DeleteGlad your pizza worked out.
Sardines are great.
ReplyDeleteMackerel is great - simply serve with a salad. Yummy !
How about cauliflower bagels they are good, you can check out the recipe here:

All the best Jan
Hi Jan - I'm not against carbs and enjoy grain-based and seed-based bakes. That being said, yes, cauliflower is a all the rage these days. Trending on super speed, and with good reason.
DeleteNo sardines for me. Yuch, but I'll take your share of vanilla ice coffee.
ReplyDeleteYou can have it. Along with a big face of snow that I'm gonna toss at your head.
DeleteHa!
I've never tried sardines, but I like sushi.
ReplyDeleteMy brother ate sardines when he was a young child...about 5?
Anything you didn't like before that you enjoy now?
DeleteI should eat sardines because they are so very good for you but I hate them so much I actually feel like crying when I just open a can. I think they are probably the grossest food ever. That and black licorice.
ReplyDeleteI went with the ones without heads and bones. I don't mind the bones but the heads sorta bug me out.
DeleteI love any fish and bone morrow is a huge treat. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing don't like any more is cinnamon. When the markets make the cinnamon buns with all the thick sugar topping on the smell make me gag. Once I eat it I am sorta ok but the smell is awful. Son has even cut in half the amount in his curry.
When I hit menopause this happened.
cheers, parsnip
Those are sickly sweet, I don't care the smell either.
DeleteNice that Son has cut it down for you.
I love salmon, but never liked tuna...and I used to like sardines but don't like them much at all anymore.
ReplyDeleteI love sardines. My dad used to clean/prepare and marinate them in a vinegar/oil type setting. So delicious! He taught me the recipe before he died and I used to make it for my own family. Hubby LOVES it. It's been awhile and this reminds me that I should do it again.
