My Eye Won't Stop Twitching

We're working on getting a new car and it's making my eye twitch and my belly nervous.  So much money.  Hopefully we will snag a zero interest deal.  But even still, it's still a buttload of bucks.  Not so happy about that.

Just writing this post has my left eyelid a twitchin'.

But I know we need the car to get me to school, as both of ours will not.  I don't even like to think about the cost of school.  It's just too much money.  I'm gonna go sniff some coupons to take the edge off.  I doubt it will help.

  3. Hope you get a great deal on a car. It's a buttload of money, but it's not wasteful...it is helping you reach your goals. Hang tough, my twitchin' friend :)

  4. It's money well spent. I work at a college and you wouldn't believe the students who fail classes because of no transportation. Good luck with the car-buying and good luck with school. :)

    1. Why do they sign up if they can't get there?

Thanks - I can't handle thinking about the loans for school just yet. One baby step at a time, for me.

      YIKES!

  5. Yes, it's a nerve-wracking process, negotiating for a new car. Hang in there!

    1. The car could be 5 grand and I'd still not be happy about spending it. Just not easy for me.

  6. You might want to think about investing in Comsumer Reports for a year (they have an on-line service besides the magazine). They've helped me find reliable cars (used and new). Lots of good information from them.

  7. Good luck in the hunt. It's no fun, but as others have said think of it as an investment in your future. :)

  8. Good luck on the car hunt! I want you to go to school so when you win one of Gordon Ransey's shows, I can say I knew her when!

    1. A rockin' deal would be great. Sorry to read that your email got hacked.

  10. When we bought our car I was nervous for days. We bought used from a trusted seller. In reflection it was a great experience, but I couldn't help being nervous about spending all that money at one time.

  11. Good luck with the hunt! These days I've delegated that task to Rachel and she did a far better job than me in securing our latest vehicle (my main contribution was ensuring it had a decent stereo that I could plug my iPod in to).

    1. I tell ya, I want to be able to plug my iPod in as well. I do that with the radio at work. Love that feature.

  12. Good luck. It is a lot of money. We've been through it a couple of times now, and it's still nerve-wracking for us too. Hang in there, think about the positive (moving toward your goals!). Hope it all goes well!

    1. Thanks - yikes on a couple of times. I'll be lucky to make it through this one.

Did it get any easier the second time?

    2. It does get a little better. But even on our second time we were still nervous. I think circumstances where you drop a large chunk of change into one thing are always rare enough that you probably never get to a point where you feel like it's no big deal. On the other hand, at least you get to say, "well, we did it once before, and it went okay that time..."

    3. I'll be like, we did it once, I only broke out in half a body rash. I'll be okay the second time.

      Thanks.

  13. Don't blame your eye for twitching. Everyone is worried about money, I think. You're pretty frugal so I hope you'll figure it out.

  14. Well it will be money well spent if you don't then have to pay for repairs and the running costs are lower

    1. And that's it too. We've put a lot of money into even good used cars before.
