Turns out it's been 2 weeks without a fridge (not frig), and not 12 days. So, I can't spell and I can't add but I can bake. And look at what I have today, foldovers.
Pepperoni with homemade sauce and cheese-filled pizza dough, folded over and sealed in. To freeze these bad boys, slightly under cook, cool completely and wrap tight. Oven reheat in foil, from frozen or thawed.
They're easy, fun and yummy. What's not to love?
I'll be back later today with the latest Wonder Woman Wednesday Quiz and another shot at that custom-fit platelmail. Until then, Happy Eating.
Okay, it's official. Now I'm starving. I think I need some foldovers!! They look delicious.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. They're great filled with veg and cheese, too. Even mixed meats like smoke ham and pepperoni. It's all yummy.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious. I wish I could bake. :)
ReplyDeleteA ball of pizza dough from the market, separated into four balls also works. Roll out and load half with your favorite goodies, fold over, pinch close, fork poke the top and bake. Bing, bam, boom. You're baking.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a cook, really more of a dishwasher but that actually sounds easy! I may just try it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWow. Linda Kage and fakesteph covered the rest.
ReplyDeleteI know it's not hard to do at a basic level, but it does involve slightly more time than I can manage. I need to get off the net.
Good to hear, mshatch. Store-bought or homemade dough, it's a great deal of fun. I look forward to hearing about your adventure.
ReplyDeleteHi Porky. I whip up some dough in the morning. Let the four rounds rise in the frig. And when we're ready to eat later or the next day, roll them out and fill them up. Bing, bam, boom.
Those look awesome! I think I'll head over to my local pizzaria. It's nice to live in Italy ;).
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic. I hope you come back and let us know how your meal was. Thanks for the drop in, Johnathan. Happy 2011 and Happy Eating.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so lovely. I can almost feel the warmth reaching my face! They have something similar in the UK:cornish pasties-a kind of pie :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about the foods all about. Do you have pictures to share?

ReplyDeleteBesides being able to buy it any where in the UK, the only thing I know about its origins is that Cornish miners' wives would throw left over food in a folded pastry (alternative lunch box casing)for their husbands to eat the next day.
The best is Beef and beer filling. You can fill it with anything sweet or savoury. All delicious!
Go miners' wives. That's what I do too, toss leftover meats and veg, seal it up and bake. It's such a treat. Even leftover egg scramble with veg and cheese. Ohhhh, so many fun things to bake.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bartender.
I just clicked that image and it looks almost the same thing. Very neat. Thanks for sharing. Happy Eating, Bartender.
ReplyDeleteThe foldovers look scrupmtious--as does everything you bake:).
ReplyDeleteBTW, I've named you a Versatile Blogger! Happy New Year!
Thanks, Maria. That's very nice of you. Been a little distracted with Ethel. Going to your blog now. Thank you so much for the great award.
ReplyDeleteThat does it! I'm coming to your house for lunch!
